I would love to see Queen re-release all their 12 inch singles.
I'm not a big fan of LP's but I love the 12 Inch format.
The original 12 Inch single of One Vision sounds absolutely amazing on a good hifi system.
The difference in sound quality between listening to Queen songs on LP's vs the 12 inch versions is like night and day.

I agree, a re-release of the 12' would be nice, but without being remastered and all the extended versions

Most of us have the 12 Inch Collection which was inside the Box Of Tricks and some other 12 inches were released on various releases. But some of them were only available on vinyl. Like Staying Power, Back Chat, Keep Passing The Open Windows and maybe one or two other. A complete boxset with all the correct 7 inch versions, 12 inch versions, b-sides and nicely packaged would be nice but for them to release that we will be already long gone.

Tend to agree. Iβve got a decent system and like to listen to my Queen records. The 12β records sound much better than 7β. Since I have them all, it would be a novelty to me to have them re-released again, but one thing thatβs always struck me odd is not having the 12β Collection CD on vinyl. Would be cool to have something like that released with the missing songs.

I don't have all the singles on 12 inch.
Some of them go for crazy money online.
I paid about 100 quid for the 12 inch version of the show must go on.
I would buy all the 12 inch singles if I could get them for a reasonable price.
Also I wish they would release more of their classic songs on 12 inch.
Don't stop me now is crying out for a 12 inch release.
A few years ago they released WATC/WWRY and Bohemian Rhapsody on 12 inch which sounded amazing.

I imagine the perceived sound quality improvement is at least partially a consequence of more groove spacing than would be possible on other formats.
But, with global vinyl production capability low, and the increase in album reissues being on DOUBLE vinyl, the business case (from the record companies) for one song on a side of 12" vinyl would not seem to be strong.
As for DSMN crying out... Well, I disagree that ANYTHING is crying out for 12" releases, but it's easily tested - start a campaign, and see how many people you can persuade to write to QPL. If you can get 100 ( none of whom ask for some other track), I'd be amazed, impressed, and corrected.

There's Queen's boxset for 2024 then. The 12" collection. All for Β£300 in a nice shiny box. (mp3 download link included)

Let's hope they clean up some of the terrible cut and paste edits first! π

The main reason for 12'' singles to exist was for DJs in the clubs to be able to mix together their setlist. This resulted in longer versions being mixed (most of the time without much thought of the bands) with instrumental sections or mixed down 'dub' versions for DJ's to overdub other songs on those sections.
So, for me, just having the standard song released on 12'' without including different mixes (preferably longer ones) does not make any sense. Especially when we can be 99.9% sure those standard versions will be the exact same (re)master as any previous release.

Well for me the reason I buy them is for better sound quality.
Just listen to how good Bohemian Rhapsody sounds on 12 inch 45rpm vinyl.

Another thing I'd like to see is for Queen to re-release their old LP's on double disc 45rpm vinyl.
Dire Straits and other bands have re-released their old LP's on 45rpm vinyl.
