Not sure it "shatters" it.... TNCD could be the last of the DLL demos recorded, but is only mentioned as the only piece to survive through to Q1.
It's unlikely to be that cut and dried, admittedly

It's unlikely to be that cut and dried, admittedly The reason I say shatters is because of Roger’s caption of this being the first day they were in a professional studio. That being said, they were definitely in a studio before January 7 – there’s a letter that John wrote (that I can’t find at the moment) dated September 1971 (I think — again, going from memory here) where he tells a friend they were in the studio the week prior and they’re hoping to get a single out. So who really knows for sure. Edit: thinking about it now, unless Roger consulted his diary (which he’s shared examples of on his Instagram account before), he very well could be thinking today was the first day when actually it was the first recording to feature on the album. But again, who really knows for sure.

Indeed it does. The recording sessions for the debut album Queen were reportedly from May to November 1972, with the rejected take of TNCD having been recorded within that timeframe. Another track that would be great to have surface in official release form.

But again, who really knows for sure. I think he's just talking about the first day they were recording music for QI, or maybe he's saying "professional studio" since the "De Lane Lea" demos were recorded in 1971 with little budget, the QI sessions started and ended in 1972 though. Or maybe it's the old age starting to play tricks.

It's unlikely to be that cut and dried, admittedly 100% agree here, that makes the most sense to me. I doubt that they'd record a rarer song like TNCD first when they had songs that they had more experience with (Liar, for example.) Methinks they just mentioned TNCD as it was the only De Lane Lea recording to make it to the album.
