Following on from a thread in the Photos session, I wondered what could be worked out in terms of who shot what. This is a very simple start:
There are 11 photos
1. The Lighting Rig* 2. RT on front sleeve 3. JD on front sleeve 4. BM on front sleeve 5. FM on front sleeve 6. Helicopter shot from gatefold 7. Wide Angle band shot on rear sleeve 8. BM on inner sleeve 9. RT on inner sleeve 10. FM on inner sleeve 11. JD on inner sleeve
There are 3 photographers credited - Denis O'Regan (DO), Neil Preston (NP) and Torleif Svensson (TS)
All eleven appear in the "A Magic Tour" book, which is *predominantly* credited to DO - not proof of anything, but leads to a kind of default assumption that all 11 are by DO except where proven otherwise.
Starting with TS - his website claims 2 and 8 DO website claims 6, and 4 was used (explicitly credited) for the cover of the guitar book "Super Rock Guitarist" 11 appears in the original LAW songbook, which only credits NP / DO
Slightly confusingly, Richard Gray is credited with 1 in "Freddie Mercury - A Life In Pictures"
*This might actually be two photos - One above the title, and the other below and around RT. The line above is an exact match for the long shot of GSTQ at Knebworth (p45, Greatest Pix 2), while side pieces are fish-eyed and have star trails.

I don't think that original 'full' source ever existed. I mean that the album was mixed and produced that way from the start. Not edited at a later stage. Later it was edited for vinyl (3 songs were edited), I think.

Top 5 album cover. Top 5 worst edited album.
It should have been a double album.
