Hi everyone.
Below is a magnificent article, published in the English music magazine Record Mirror on 28th May 1977 on the occasion of the British Tour of Queen: entitled Planned Attack!, it is a detailed story of the group written by journalist Robin Smith. Smith tells about Queen's origins since the mid-1960s, starting from when Brian May and Timothy Staffell played in 1984, also mentioning Smile and Freddie Mercury's band Wreckage. The journalist also mentions the first activities of the group, including the demo session at De Lane Lea Studios in London and the New Year's Eve concert at the Rugby Club in Twickenham on 31st December 1971; the first successes are then analyzed, like the gigs at Imperial College, the Sunbury Music Festival in Australia in January 1974 and the tour in support of Mott The Hoople. The story proceeds with different quotations by Freddie, Brian, Roger and John and references to the great goals of the band, from 'Seven Seas Of Rhye', passing through 'Bohemian Rhapsody' and 'A Night At The Opera' up to the recent North American tour with Thin Lizzy.Enjoy the reading!
