Hi everyone.
Below I post an article entitled Queen Ponders Direction: Scream? Whisper?: written by Paul Grein, it was published in the American music magazine Billboard on 12th July 1980.
Grein is in Los Angeles and writes a piece on the new musical direction taken by Queen; he obviously talks about the great commercial success of 'Crazy Little Thing Called Love' and, in a short interview with Roger Taylor, gives some information on Queen's new album 'The Game' - Taylor admits that of the 25 new songs recorded, only 10 were chosen because the others "must get lost". Grein also refers to Queen's current tour (indicating the 42 American concerts - which in fact were 44), mentioning the four nights at the Los Angeles Forum and an outdoor gig at Battery Park in New York City; this show, scheduled for 16th August 1980, was later canceled (that same day the band performed at the Civic Center in Charleston, West Virginia.
Below I post the scan of the article in question and the review of the album 'The Game', written by journalist Ed Harrison and published in the same issue of the magazine. Enjoy!
Here's the review of 'The Game':
