Roger’s house in LA is on the market and for sale. So if you have at least $6.19mio to spend, you can buy it. Or maybe several people are willing to share a house? However, I‘m a bit curious, why Roger wants to sell the house now. He bought it in 1981 for about 5% of the now listed price. Recently the house was refurbished and his kids did use it quite regularly. Also Roger shares ownership of a bar not too far away. Maybe he bought another one? Roger doesn’t seem to spend much time in LA, I‘ve only ever seen him (or rather his wife Sarina via Instagram) there during the QAL tours and for the Tyler Hawkins Tribute Concert. It looks like he’s spending most of his time in his UK homes or on his new sailing yacht. So maybe he decided to swap the house for a smaller apartment? Or his kids will have to stay in a hotel or with friends in LA in the future.

There's no obligation to live near one's business interests.

You have to remember if you buy a house and don't live in it, it still needs to be maintained. There's cleaning, gardening, general maintenance to the inside and outside - that swimming pool for example. Which means that you have to pay for it, and have the hassle of employing people to do it, phone calls, emails etc. After a while I'm sure it's easier for stars to say 'f**k it' let me stay in a hotel when I'm in town. They can afford it. Plus Roger is getting on in years, god forbid anything happens to him, but eventually it will. Far easier for his dependents to get money in his will rather than sorting out the hassle of selling the house then and dividing up the money.

For short visits Roger and his wife can probably also stay at Adam’s house. He lives just across the street in an even bigger house.

Everyone who can is getting out of L.A. and California. Taxes are high and keep climbing, crime is rampant and the homeless encampments are growing larger every day. As a matter if fact so many people have left California they have lost 2 Congress seats and are on track to lose a third. I'm not surprised to hear Roger is getting out.

The thing is fiat currency goes down in value over time.
If you have money to invest you would be much better putting it into property than keeping it in a bank account.

my understanding is that Los Angeles Property Tax is around 0.77 so, Roger is paying around $45,000 per year why pay Property Tax and or Utility Tax for somewhere you never live?

If he doesn't live there then he could just rent out the place.

A rock star renting out his place for any lunatic to rent. What could go wrong?

I'd imagine only rich people could afford to rent out the place.

Rich people don't generally behave like hooligans.

As a matter if fact so many people have left California they have lost 2 Congress seats and are on track to lose a third. I'm not surprised to hear Roger is getting out. I see. So that's why the annual population growth in LA was 0,51% last jan. 1, up from 0,37% in 2023, which was up from 0,23% in 2022, which was up from 0,1% in 2020. The rise in crime for 2022 over 2021 was 6,1%, which is very close to the national average (6,02%) (those are the latest figures available). According to the US census, California has lost 1 seat, not 2, in the most recent re-apportionment, which was set in 2021.
