Hi all!

Thank you for letting me join this group! My name is Adam, I'm from the UK and have been a Queen fan for around 15 years, with a particular affinity towards live material (mainly thanks to Gregsynthbootlegs!) having found so much of it on YouTube when building up my interest in the band. My name comes from the fact that Elton John followed soon after Queen and, with not as much concentration surrounding his bootlegs at that time, a username was made and has stuck! Unfortunately I was too young to be around when the original foursome were strutting their stuff, but through their albums, bootlegs and many other avenues, I am very grateful for the sheer amount of information & content that is available.

Er... I mean, hi folks. Sorry, got a bit carried away there. Always liked a dramatic entrance. Anyhew, your new resident grumpy northern space dog has arrived. Some of you will know me from the other place. My username there has now become my chosen first name, so I figured it was probably best to switch it out for something else.

Been a Queen fan for almost as long as I can remember. I loved the 'Barcelona' single first, way back in 1987, at the tiny age of 3, and then became a Queen fan when 'I Want It All' was released in May 1989. Been hovering around the fandom on the fringes ever since, including 22 years on the other forum. 

Anyhew, will pop by once in a while to see what's happening. Lovely to meet y'all.

Yes, it's a shame, but also perhaps long overdue. I left myself last summer because, you guessed it, things got nasty. The glory days were definitely 2003-2008, and then it all started to go wrong from there.

But it'll be good to have somewhere to be nerdy about Queen again.

It's been a while. The QZ forum crumbled and you folks continued on. Life got both busy and inconsistent. Many good and bad things in the interim,... I'm a former mid Era Comer to QZ and now I'll hopefully check on this page and actually interact rather than being a viewer only

As for contributions, I've never been a good taper, but on occasion I'd broke a few stories to the old QZ page. Just fun shares about when Brian or someone made an appearance locally or if a noted band covered Queen in their set etc.

Provided some photos from a few Q+AL gigs and feedback but I'm not a legacy hoarder or one who has kept fanning the flames of heavy Fandom so much anymore.

Guess things just got tough for a time and though Brian and Roger continued to tour, it's never been anything I've lost sleep about lately

Notable discussions prior: karaoke... and the old Thor Arnold forum where some great things were discussed until trolls and weird hangers on polluted what was an interesting page

I understand this place is heavily moderated, so no gazillion spam pages upon waking in the morning.

I'm a grateful Queen fan, wish I were jamming around and playing like I used to but hey maybe I'll get back to it.

I look forward to some chats, and also if any place here is set aside for trades and or sales, maybe I'll thin out some stuff that I might not wish to hold onto anymore.

Hello all! I'm a long time lurker. I enjoy reading ypur posts and learning from them. I'm from the US (Kansas). I've been a fan of Queen since I heard the Seven Seas of Rhye in the mid 1970s. Much to my regret, I never saw Freddie Mercury with the others. However, I saw Queen +AL in London last October, and I will see them again in October in Toronto.

Has anyone seen this?

Hi I'm Ash and I'm a big Queen fan but I want to be more of a fan. How do I be more of a fan please? I have the book Queen as it began. Do I read this and memorize their history?

How many times have you bought Queen's Greatest Hits? You're not a proper fan until you've bought it at least fifty times in every available format. 😄

There's no rule book or courses on 'being a Queen fan'. Just enjoy the music. 👍🙂

Hello everyone, I’m Freya. A very small percentage of you might remember me from QueenZone in the 2000s. I also went by Poppy for quite some time. Still love Queen and it’s nice seeing some names here that I remember.

Before it closed, I hadn’t posted on QZ for years, but I used to log in and have a read every so often. While it was a bit of a cesspit for trolls and other rubbish, I used to search through old posts and take a trip down memory lane. I had no idea it was closing and when I tried to access it and it wasn’t there I did feel a pang of sadness. I think this was due to having a part of my teenage years snapshotted there and it felt like I could visit 16 year old Freya on a whim. Overdramatic sure, but that’s how it felt. I can see it’s now been uploaded elsewhere now (not that my phone will load the pages properly) so thanks to whoever did that.

Anyway, hi.
