I went through the entire thread and I'll share my bio as well: Real name: Kamil Location: Poland (south east) Age: Well, it's easy to guess, but to make it clear - 25 Times saw Queen: Never. I saw Brian in 2016 (with K. Ellis) and Q+AL the same year. Trading: No. Claim to fame: Nothing related to Queen, apart from winning 2 different competitions on the internet. In one of them I won 'A Night at the Odeon' CD. First Queen album: I bought them all in once! (2011 remasters). But the first proper contact with Queen was in 2011 when I bumped on Rio 85 show on Polish TV. I was thinking that those guys are pretty good, even though since early 2010 I accepted only classical music when I became obsessed about Chopin. My obsession with Queen had to wait for another few years.

Just thought I'd stick my nose in! Looking good here, folks!
A couple of questions, if I may:
Firstly, I noticed Chief Mouse has a gap in his user name, but when I tried to have Lord Fickle it said this was invalid, so mine is a bit underwhelming.
Secondly, are we going to have a section for Fan Mixes? Not sure if or when I'd be able to do any more, but it would be good to have references to the old ones, and maybe some of the old mixers like PiotreQ might be tempted out of retirement?

welcome aboard. happy easter to you too. - i've decided to fight Coronavirus with alcohol - 1 month in...no sign of having contracted COVID-19 (as yet)...but smashed off my face, nonetheless! I thought they said alcohol killed it, so I was considering myself immune, but then they said it was the stuff in the hand gel. 😄 I could say I'm well stocked on alcohol, but then my mom told me if I stock up on rubbing alcohol. Oh.

I might as well do this too Real name: Jordan Sheaffer Location: Northern Ireland Age: 20 Times saw Queen: Never. I've seen Queen + AL in 2017 in Belfast & in 2018 in Dublin. Trading: Not really, I haven't got much special. Claim to fame: Managing to gain a following of 18k subscribers on YouTube. Never thought I'd have that many followers, I do this all for fun. Thank you all for supporting me First Queen album: My mum and dad bought me A Night The Opera when I first became a fan in 2014. -Chin

Lord Fickle I remember some of your fan mixes especially the one where I got to add a bit of Silent Night to one of them (We Will Rock You I think it was). You were pretty good at it too.

This does come with a health warning, but one I used to have in my reckless youth, was: (In a pint glass): Half Pint of Strongbow Double Vodka Blue Curacao Topped up with Orange Juice This stuff was bright green and looked like it was radioactive. Three pints and you were on the floor, but the hangovers were so debilitating that I had to give them up!

I lost a few due to a disk failure, but I still have most of them. Some of them were good, but some I can't listen to now.
Yes, wasn't the Silent Night bit at the request of the dear departed John S Stuart?

i think the thing with drink is to find a spirit that doesn't give you hangovers.
Irish & US Whiskey, dark run and voddie - i'm good with.
scotch can lay me low for 24 hrs. brandy god no. and gin - used to drink it til one bad session ended that.

The last time I was very ill, was actually quite recently, after consuming two bottles of red wine in about three hours round at a mate's house. I don't really drink all that much these days, but on that night, it just seemed to be flowing nicely, and I wasn't really aware that I'd drunk that much until I got home, went to bed, and even trying to focus on the alarm clock didn't stop the room from spinning. Luckily I managed to get to the loo before the inevitable involuntary and forceful ejection of stomach contents occurred, and it took me three days to fully recover from that adventure!

Hello all. Here I go. Real Name: Arnaldo Silveira (a.k.a. Ogre-) the hyphen in Ogre- comes from the Queen mIRC times, because there was another Ogre already. Location: Brasilia, Brazil Age: 49 in a couple of days Times saw Queen: I was too young when the full band were in Brazil. I saw Brian in Rio 1992; QPR in Vegas 2006, Rio and Buenos Aires 2008; QAL Boston and Newark 2014, Porto Alegre and Rio 2015. Trading? Nothing of significance. I got my Netherlands only Heineken 2002 CDR in exchange for a Flash Gordon movie DVD available in Brazilian newstands. That's it. Claim to fame: Not really about fame, but it gives me a sense of achievement. I approached a local FM station in late November 1991 and convinced them to let me host two 2-hour specials of Queen rarities but goodies and lent them bootlegs for anniversary broadcasts for about 5 years after that. First Queen album: The Game, 1980. The solo in Sail Away Sweet Sister got me hooked for life. Favourite album and song: Queen II and, guess what, Ogre Battle

It was and he defended it quite strongly as I remember. He was a great guy on QZ and sadly missed as was Joxer (Jon Mills) who I used to have daily conversations with on Facebook. Im not in contact with many of the QZ lot on facebook, only Ali James (now Amanda Binkholder), Your Valentine (Barbara) and Richard Guilbault (cant remember his username on QZ)
Queenzone was good back in the day, but it has drastically went downhill and got to the point that it unsaveable I think.

I loved your fanmixes, back then you were basically limited to the instrumental version and the album track, but you did some really nice things with those limits.

Hey everyone. Nice to become part of this new forum. I used to be a QZ regular, like about a decade ago, but I did post on there from time to time in recent years too. My name on there has been almost the same as here as of late. Some of us are also connected on facebook and discord - Bob, Chief, Chin, Greg, Ryan Newton, inuliger. Have I missed anyone?

Yes the Fan Mixes section should be up and running very shortly.

Hi all! I've been a regular on QZ for years, but I've only been reading it for the past few years, since there was still quite some interesting stuff besides all the rubbish. It's a shame that the QZ board went down the drain, but it seems that this board is a nice one! It already came as a relief to see such a well organised board with all clear subjects and not to have to look through a pile of rubbish first to find something interesting. A short re-introduction of myself: Real Name: Paul Location: The Netherlands Age: 37 Times saw Queen: None; Q+PR 4 times. Trading: Not anymore, still enjoying the usual anthology/live stuff. Claim to fame: I actually have an official mention in the Guinness Book of World Records First Queen album: The Miracle; my parents bought the LP in '88/'89 and I was immediately hooked. Cheers! Paul.

Hi All,
I posted a new thread on QZ a couple of days back and was swiftly advised by a couple of Deities to place my question in this forum instead. As an only very occasional poster I am sad to hear of the QZ demise as I have one particular thread on there that is awaiting some distant news (thread 'Hungarian Rhapsody lost footage - does it exist?'). What will happen to the threads there I wonder now?
However, my new thread here 'Queen Marquee Club broadcast on BBC Radio 1 back in the 80s' I'm hoping will get some positive response. I'm holding my breath!
Cheers!

Good evening everyone.
First of all I would like to say how fantastic this new website is. I'm a 25 years young Queen fan from Norway. Like many of you, I've also been a regular user of Queenzone for some years. Not a very active conversation or thread starter, but I have really appreciated the concept of Queenzone.
Anyway - It looks like the environment here is very good. So I'm looking forward to be part of this forum.
Cheers!
