Oh hell, I might as well give this a go: Real Name: James Location: Scotland Age: 39 Times saw Queen: never with Freddie/John. Saw Q+PR and Q+AL once each. PR was far better! Trading? Used to do the old snail mail in the late 90's, and ended up with some real cool stuff - which is now bread and butter for free on QZ lol Claim to fame: My second cousin managed Queen and Elton John. His name is John Reid. I've never met him. Met Brian and Roger at the King's Theatre in 2011. Brian was nice, Roger was okay to me but a dick to others - probably because I didn't wave shit in his face. Also met Rufus, who was very down to earth and happy to talk for ages. First Queen album: Made In Heaven. That was my first "my" Queen album, but I had been well introduced by my parents, who owned everything from Queen II to The Game. Early Queen fandom was me dressed in a vest and jeans, pretending to be Freddie whilst miming to I Want To Break Free. I was 4 or 5. Great to have you here James. Cheers.

Hello folks, Here's to polite conversation. real name: Paul location: Ireland age: 47 times saw Queen: None. Went to the Fred tribute concert and saw Brian on the Back To The Light tour. trading: I've posted an interview with Brian & Roger and a few Fanclub mags from 79/80 but that's it. I think I may have given away my Man On The Prowl 7" a few years back 'cos I can't seem to locate it. claim to fame: I tend to shun the spotlight first queen album: The Game Hi Paul. Welcome to the site.

Hello boys and girls, So glad to see a fully functional forum with all the avatars, working links and hopefully a healthy collective. I know the idea has been floating around for some time, so big thanks to everyone involved in the behind-the-scenes hard work and patience to make it a reality. Hope you keep it up and running for a long time! My name is Sina Jakelic, a 40 y/o Croatian musician, currently living in Norway. First time I saw Queen was in a local Croatian newspaper, 26th November, 1991. I was 11. The title read simply but horribly blunt, 'Freddie Mercury died'. Little did I know he will become my single favourite artist, a lifetime inspiration and a personal hero for the rest of my days. The more I learned about him, the more I loved every bit of music he created that I could get my hands on - with Queen, solo or collaboration - the more I felt a hole that nothing could fill. I suppose most of you know the feeling, like something is missing or as if a good friend is gone forever. My first contact with him was his parting, so the shock and realisation of that loss came in waves for so many years. Still does. The more you love him, the more you miss him. I've probably spent more time with Freddie than with some members of my family. The sheer amount of music, and inspiring energy eminating from his interviews, written words, lyrical wisdom, bold lifestyle and determination leaves such a strong positive and inspiring mark for any sane human being. So, I've never had the luck as some of you did, to see him perform live. All the more reason to be a part of place like this, to get a glimpse. For a true fan, there is never enough material to read, watch and above all, listen. Didn't plan this post will go this way, but writing this made me go and dig up the archives of that Croatian newspaper and find that exact article. Fortunately it is easily accessible online. I will translate it and share it on the forum, if you are interested. While searching for the exact date (they reported it on the 26th), I was sure I still remember the exact picture they used, even though at that time I didn't know who he was... It got completely etched in my memory, hard to explain, but there it was. Only difference, I remebered it being a centerfold article, over 2 pages, when in reality it's a little picture and a short article. Either I was small or it made a big impact... Nice to be here. Cheers! Welcome to the site Sina!

My turn Name: Alex Location: Philippines Age: 23 Times I've seen Queen: Never. 1st Bootleg: Thank You All. Some random fact: I once thought that what the contents in Live Magic was exactly what they performed for their last concert together, and I thought "that was a cheap way to play your last gig together" (I was just a kid then) This was before I got Thank You All. Love the avatar Alex!

I've read it. Enjoyed it too. Why was it purely promoted?

'......a new life is born....' First, I want to thank all those involved for your work in setting this up. It's a breath of fresh air to be on a Queen forum amongst the many acquaintances I've come to know and respect over the past couple of decades (!), without the dead weight of the old Qzone. Grateful to have a peaceful 'home' to visit for my occasional fix. Good luck to us all! Joe Cheers Joe! We'll do our best to make this place one of the best Queen resources on the net.

i've dedicated the last couple of days (coinciding with a UK out-of-season heatwave) to try and kill COVID-19 creatively. - here's a couple of my own little inventions: First Up: The Yellow Peril........................................... Secondly: The Blue MoonWhite Rum, Mango Liqueur and Banana Liqueur................ Vodka, Almond Liqueur, Vanilla Liqueur & Blue Curacao the second was like being hit by a truck! Haha. Nothing like a good piss up when the sun is shining!!!

Just thought I'd stick my nose in! Looking good here, folks! A couple of questions, if I may: Firstly, I noticed Chief Mouse has a gap in his user name, but when I tried to have Lord Fickle it said this was invalid, so mine is a bit underwhelming. Secondly, are we going to have a section for Fan Mixes? Not sure if or when I'd be able to do any more, but it would be good to have references to the old ones, and maybe some of the old mixers like PiotreQ might be tempted out of retirement? Welcome Lord!

Hi all! I've been a regular on QZ for years, but I've only been reading it for the past few years, since there was still quite some interesting stuff besides all the rubbish. It's a shame that the QZ board went down the drain, but it seems that this board is a nice one! It already came as a relief to see such a well organised board with all clear subjects and not to have to look through a pile of rubbish first to find something interesting. A short re-introduction of myself: Real Name: Paul Location: The Netherlands Age: 37 Times saw Queen: None; Q+PR 4 times. Trading: Not anymore, still enjoying the usual anthology/live stuff. Claim to fame: I actually have an official mention in the Guinness Book of World Records First Queen album: The Miracle; my parents bought the LP in '88/'89 and I was immediately hooked. Cheers! Paul. Welcome Paul!

Hi All, I posted a new thread on QZ a couple of days back and was swiftly advised by a couple of Deities to place my question in this forum instead. As an only very occasional poster I am sad to hear of the QZ demise as I have one particular thread on there that is awaiting some distant news (thread 'Hungarian Rhapsody lost footage - does it exist?'). What will happen to the threads there I wonder now? However, my new thread here 'Queen Marquee Club broadcast on BBC Radio 1 back in the 80s' I'm hoping will get some positive response. I'm holding my breath! Cheers! Welcome dust.

Good evening everyone. First of all I would like to say how fantastic this new website is. I'm a 25 years young Queen fan from Norway. Like many of you, I've also been a regular user of Queenzone for some years. Not a very active conversation or thread starter, but I have really appreciated the concept of Queenzone. Anyway - It looks like the environment here is very good. So I'm looking forward to be part of this forum. Cheers! Hi Queenman. Welcome over here!

It was and he defended it quite strongly as I remember. He was a great guy on QZ and sadly missed as was Joxer (Jon Mills) who I used to have daily conversations with on Facebook. Im not in contact with many of the QZ lot on facebook, only Ali James (now Amanda Binkholder), Your Valentine (Barbara) and Richard Guilbault (cant remember his username on QZ) Queenzone was good back in the day, but it has drastically went downhill and got to the point that it unsaveable I think. Joxer was an amazing man. I only ever knew him via Facebook, but he's for sure missed. One of the kindest, funniest Queen fans I ever got to know.
