Hello everybody.
Below I propose a review of Queen's debut album, published in the Spanish music magazine Disco Express on 28th June 1974: it's titled QUEEN - LA NUEVA REINA DEL POP (translated as QUEEN - THE NEW QUEEN OF POP).
The album 'Queen' is presented very well and, in particular, the songs 'Liar', 'Great King Rat', 'Doing All Right', 'Keep Yourself Alive' and 'Jesus' are highlighted.
Below is the original article in Spanish and the English translation. Enjoy the reading!
QUEEN THE NEW QUEEN OF POP
There are some pessimists who think that the great groups on the world musical scene are ending, we find ourselves with the pleasant surprise of hearing a new group (at least in Spain): they are QUEEN and in England they are rising like foam, also comparing them with people like Deep Purple and Uriah Heep. In Spain we only have at the moment a long duration of these four new figures who are Freddie Mercury (piano, voices), Brian May (guitar, vocals), Deacon John (bass) and Roger Meddows-Taylor (percussion, vocals). This LP, which we know here, is truly fabulous, it contains ten songs each more perfect, although perhaps they could stand out. LIAR the best, with sensational changes of rhythm, GREAT KING RAT composition of great strength. DOING ALL RIGHT, KEEP YOURSELF ALIVE, JESUS, etc.
In short, a sensational group that is worth listening to, with music full of power that must be very interesting to see live, especially now that you can see so many live performances.
