So, Just a bit of fun!
You get handed the chance to tour inside the mythical Queen vault (ok, not mythical as we know it exists, but where it is - that's mythical!) and you're allowed to see. listen, hold or find one item in there. What do you go for? Would you want to listen to the studio tapes of an album being made? Hold one of Fred's stage costumes - or maybe go on a hunt and see if there really is recordings that may/may not exist, such as the footage of Knebworth '86 supposedly filmed by Doro.
Over to you!!
And remember it's only one item you greedy swines!

I would probably choose to go on a hunt and see if there really are recordings that may/may not exist.

I'd probably go for the obvious, just to satisfy my curiosity, that being the Hangman acetate.

I would search for titles rumoured to excist. And of course the 1970 show which Brian claimed he found. And loads of demo's and outtakes like the ones for the Innuendo album especially the title track itself.

Away from fairytale land, one would have to think that Sony has been made aware of some very marketable unreleased recordings to throw their wallet around like they have.
I think we'll all get to see the inside of the vault very soon. This could also spell the end for a certain "organ grinder" who likes to pick fights with fellow fans given the access he's had for the last 24 odd years. This is especially so now that Brian, Roger, and Jim no longer possess the keys to the door having sold the crown jewels to the highest bidder.

Where does this new deal leave Greg Brooks, I wonder?

I’d go searching for the Game sessions, just to see if there really was enough material for a double album.
Also I’d slyly take notes of all recording dates and what was recorded so it could be compiled into a Mark Lewisohn style Recording Sessions document. It’d be a helluva lot of notes, but I’m up for the challenge.

Not this title giving me a heart attack.....
Anyway - any one of the gems from the Innuendo sessions, because I've been reading the write-ups about the Back to the Tapes 2017 event and just dying that I wasn't there. (It's been long enough now surely... no leaks? 🤭)

Should the deal go through before then, then he may no longer be employed by QPL - as QPL will no longer have ownership of an archive for him to fuck up

Although honestly if they take him out before this (if they do) that's just needlessly cruel. Also, wouldn't the same thing apply to anyone working in the crew now...?

Also, wouldn't the same thing apply to anyone working in the crew now...? business has no room for sentiment (or whatever we like to call it). when company X takes over/buys out company Y it's normal business practice for company X to replace folk with their own people.

1. Greg is almost certainly freelance, so would be able to market himself to Sony as the pre-eminent expert on what content may be most easily monetised.
2. Employees being transferred would be subject to TUPE rules in the UK.

The title of the topic is life sentence worthy. (Even though it's on us for even thinking something like this could be remotely possible).
My priority would be to get my hands on any demo in existence, and right after on any alternative vocal take... Who knows what they may be hiding? For example, before the NOTW boxset, did we have any indication that a Freddie take of All Dead, All Dead existed?

I don't think Sony will be replacing anyone. They will want to do as little work as possible, so will simply keep all the old staff. As I alluded to in another thread, I would like to see a complete change but I don't think it will happen.
To answer the main topic, I think I'd start by hunting for a soundboard recording of the infamous New Zealand show in 1985. Freddie was so drunk that the other three members of the band were "playing like trojans", according to Roger Taylor, to make up for Freddie's condition. I'd love to hear what that sounded like. It might be the best live instrumentation of the era, or it could be absolute chaos. Either way, I want to hear it.

I'd love to see if any more footage exists from their first performance at the Rainbow in March '74. If the 37 minute tape exists, I wonder if the *deleted stuff* does too. Unlikely if both Montreal and Budapest don't!
And if that didn't exist then maybe Tokyo '75 - maybe the whole gig is there...

I've been informed that the 37 or so minutes of footage shot during Queen's 1st Rainbow concert was all that was made. I've read that Tokyo '75 was taped in full.

I’d love to hear what John (and somewhat Roger) completed for Made In Heaven before they restarted with Brian.
