Sorry if this question has been asked before. There's been talk here that the second single from the Queen I box set will be "Modern Times Rock 'n' Roll." Do you know when this single will be released? Does anyone know if it will be released in physical format?
On the other hand, unless I am mistaken, the press release for this box states that the only item that is exclusive to the Queenonline store is the cassette. Is this so? In the Queenonline store, unlike previous occasions, nothing is said about "exclusive products".
Thanks. Kind regards.

Whee has been said that next single will be MTORNR? Upthread, maybe Page 3. No idea why that would be necessary, other than to flesh out GH4.....

yeah, next single will be Modern Times... and, I saw the video of Night Comes Down this morning... it is a mixture of photos, getting life with IA, and also images of Rainbow backstage and the actual show. Not bad... Hello! how do you know that the next single will be MTORNR?

Disc 2 - De Lane Lea demo tape (2024 Remix): I realy believe that these are essential to be included in a collector's/expanded edition of this album, but was it really necesarry to have just 5 tracks on one CD? I'm also not sure about the remix... In contrary to the album, this was what they created and where happy with, to get them a recording/record deal.I would have kept the original mix to maintain the essence of it's purpose, I think. We already have that mix officially released, so I'm always good with the remix. It can never hurt to have two different versions of something and have the choice !

Piracy would be if it was for sale somewhere. There was never a smile cd release. Unreleased then imho. But it has stuff on it that has been released, so it's still technically a copyrights breach. Exactly - and that's why it's best classified as a pirate and not a bootleg, because a bootleg is where you sell something that hasn't been officially released.

I always thought "Nuce" was pronounced "Noose". Is that why it seemed likely that the CD would include a song called Hangman? We should know better: see Sheer Heart Attack

Not bad... Hello! how do you know that the next single will be MTORNR? I’ve listened to The Night Comes Down 50 times now. And everytime I think that Modern Times Rock N’ Roll is about to come next. So maybe someone has subconsciously projected that it must be the next single. Anyway, surely we’re going to hear more before the release. They’ve got two videos: Keep Yourself Alive and Liar. Just give us the new mix over the existing videos. Put the AI down in the corner and slowly back away without making any sudden movements…

I'm Matt, and I approve this message. P.s. I hope the album isn't a weird curiosity, I've been pondering how Son And Daughter will sound.... I'm fearing they'll clean up the mouth Freddie had on delivering the line "Didn't you feel surprised to find the cap just didn't fit?" You can definitely hear his extra teeth there... that and the guitar harmonies that echo at the end of each verse before the chorus. Really eerie overtones..I don't know another way to describe it without having perfect pitch

Especially since on the album The Night Comes Down flows into Modern times of rock'n'roll.

Hello! how do you know that the next single will be MTORNR? I’ve listened to The Night Comes Down 50 times now. And everytime I think that Modern Times Rock N’ Roll is about to come next. Absolutely. The crescendo at the end of TNCD is perfectly resolved by MTRNR crashing in. I've said it before, but that sequencing is one of the highlights for me on the whole album. A beautiful moment, almost like the 2 songs are part of one whole like so many later Queen segues. One other note from me - I'd have loved it if the 2024 cassette followed the original rejigged UK cassette track order, but with the addition of MTS on side one both side are now of equal length. This is the version I grew up with and for me really works well. Front-loaded perhaps, starting in the familiar way, then SSOR as the intermission, GKR sparking into life to start side 2. Building up to the thrash of MTRNR in the 'Suffragette City' position. Then S&D as the grinding finale, taking the album to a mystical conclusion with its harmonised guitar fade out. A1 Keep Yourself Alive A2 Doing All Right A3 Liar A4 Jesus A5 Seven Seas Of Rhye B1 Great King Rat B2 My Fairy King B3 The Night Comes Down B4 Modern Times Rock'N'Roll B5 Son And Daughter

I believe it originates in Italy, so will be "in noochay" It's a 'common' Latin expression, actually. So the pronunciation would be either as you put it, or, classically, "in noo-kèh".

The box set contains songs known to everyone since 1973, sadly there is not a single unreleased song. And I am not talking about the studio version of Hangman. I think there is no point in hoping for anything in this regard. Unless Sony does release it in 2034 ;-)

I hope that they remix Liar, kind of in the same way that Hollywood Records did as the bonus track. During the "Mama I'm going to be your slave" part and they bring the percussion to the front is just magical.

Unless Sony does release it in 2034 ;-) There aren’t unreleased songs but there are unreleased versions, which for me is the most exciting thing. And the De Lane Lea test session of See What a Fool will absolutely be interesting. Yes it’s missing Polar Bear, but do we even know FOR CERTAIN that any further songs were recorded? Remember, they were recording in downtime, so they were probably making the best use of their time and, apart from Polar Bear and Mad the Swine, the 10 songs on the album may have been all that was recorded. We don’t even know if Polar Bear is DEFINITIVELY from the debut album sessions. For years it was assumed that the Keep Yourself Alive retake was from the debut sessions; same with Silver Salmon. I’m inclined to think there were only 11 (maybe 12) songs recorded during those sessions. Remember, QPL gave us six unreleased songs on the Miracle box set (some of which were were familiar with, yes), so it’s not like they’re THAT reluctant to put out unreleased stuff.

Amazon Canada has the 2CD version already for Pre-order. But... USD 51.99 for the 2CD version? Are they nuts or what? It's not even an import. They will ship directly from the Canadian warehouses. I don't get it. I hope that Amazon USA offers it (and the box) at reasonable prices. I am definitely not paying USD 51.99 for a 2CD set!

But mechanical sound of drums is the weakest point.

Good morning everybody. I have a CD called "Queen In Nuce" which contains ... And "Going Back" and "I Can Hear Music" are original, untouched versions, without that terrible "pitch correction" (as on "Solo box"). The same case as new "Night comes Down".
