Blag couldn't trick its way to advance, and Step On Me was kicked to the curb, so now we move on to Round 2. Discussion: I'm wiped out. Talk amongst yourselves. Round 1 Blag Step On Me

I've voted for Doin' Alright and Polar Bear.
DA is a great song but the Queen version is better.
I love PB, one of my favourite early Queen related songs but it's like a guilty pleasure. I don't think it's that great a song but I still love it.
The thing I forgot or didn't realise before is how many shared vocals there are. Tim sings on most of them but Brian and Roger have duties on two songs too. I wonder if Brian stopped singing lead when Queen began (i.e. Freddie joined). Brian didn't sing on Queen 1 but I wonder if there were any songs that he might've sung live instead? She Makes Me might've been the one song but it doesn't look like it was considered until years later.
I wonder why he didn't sing songs more or nearly as much as Roger in Queen even though Brian arguably sang more in Smile?

I picked against E and DA. Somewhat bummed that PB is getting the cold shoulder.

Same reasons again Doin’ Alright was done better by Queen And Polar Bear isn’t as good as the other too. Although I do like all four! I always thought about how many of us would have picked up on this band had history presented it’s self differently and they’d been successful and Queen hadn’t been formed.

Brian sang lead on several Queen songs even though he didn't have lead vocal on anything on Queen I. Plus later in the 80s he had a few solo verses on Queen singles (Who Wants To Live Forever, I Want It All). I think there are several songs where Brian did all of the stacked backing vocals himself as well. I'm always impressed with his ability to sound like an entire choir of different people... his voice is very elastic. He'd probably make a good voice over artist.

Certainly with Fat Bottomed Girls onwards, Brian seemed to have more clearer vocal lines on his Queen singles. But up to the point it was limited, Roger did more live too. It kind of went from Brian doing more than Roger in Smile, Roger doing more than Brian in 70s Queen then it being more equal in 80s Queen. And then before AKOM onwards Brian did more than Roger. Especially live too, he has the line in One Vision and Hello Mary Lou whereas Roger didn't. I just wonder why Brian didn't sing as much as the start of Queen.
