All content is available on Spotify, haven’t slept since midnight because the content is just so good. Liar 2024 is just spectacular, this song is probably the track that benefitted the most from remixing. But the whole album sounds so fresh. It is like the songs got more oxygen and come to live. The demos are of great quality and it’s just so spectacular to hear this. Which Queen fan could dream about this just before the box was announced? The live tracks are interesting as well, especially the 1970 ones. It’s incredible to hear.
Brian, Roger and John are treating us really well.

Did anybody have a link to the Dolby Atmos version of the remix?

I struggled to find it too, but the individual tracks did pop up on the search bar: I was just going to share a link too! Open Queen I Collector's Edition on Spotify hereIt's not easy to find but I originally found it by going onto the Discography section on Queen's profile on Spotify. I had to scroll right down to where the first album was and there it was.

Holy shit, this is one hell of a remix/release! Really enjoying it.
Who else notices a difference in The Night Comes Down mixes from the album vs. De Lane Lea demo's? Arent they supposed to be the same versions? Not complaining, love both remixes, just wondering.

f*ck, f*ck, F*CK! Liar (2024) is incredible, truly incredible.
The drums have come to life. Third playthru (of this track), I think this will be my playlist version from now on.

Not to sound biased but the mix of Liar is the one that disappointed me most; it sounds too much like the 1991 Hollywood remix (I don't know if whoever produced this replaced the drums but the ones on the new mix sound far too similar to simply put this thought to rest), which, except for the drum intro, feels much fuller and livelier (without adding any new elements to drastically alter the performance itself) than the new one.
The percussion (congas?) from the "Mama I'm gonna be your slave" section is also raised significantly, something that I thought was an unwelcoming addition specifically produced by the remixer of the 1991 version, except that upon closer listen to the original album version, it appeared there as well despite being almost muted. The last pro about the 1991 mix is the clearer, more prominent vocal that's also free of pitch correction, so to say. Sorry for the long ramble but I wanted to take it off of my chest

"It's you Bulsara, It's YOU, you're flat, you bastard with your doo der doo's....."
It's Worth the £20 I paid just for that little exchange around that song.

i'm absolutely loving the drums on this 2024 remix. Can't wait to get to discs 2-6.
here's a thought: if they do work on II next and they manage to get the drums 50% as good as this, then I'll be happy.
i'm well into my 60s now, but if Queen can somehow produce the definitive versions of I, II and Races, then that would be a result and the wait would be worth it.

I had intended to play the whole thing through in order, but I couldn't resist picking out bits. I've listened to the first disc up to and including Liar, which is colossal, but for some reason, MFK didn't sound quite as 'big' as the other tracks - does it lack a bit of oomph in the bass?
Love the new ending to GKR, and MTS sounds gorgeous. That might actually be one of my favorite tracks now on the album. I could have sworn there was meant to be a segue between MTS and MFK (or at least a gapless transition), but I must have misremembered the MTS ending.
Loving the drum sound - mostly - but do I detect a dustbin lid in there somewhere?! 😄
Also couldn't resist listening to a bit of the chatter on the sessions disc. Some of it is hilarious! Hoping to give this some fuller attention over the weekend.
Who's kept the sticker? 😁

I apologize for my comment to lack technical information. As a long term Queen fan and collector, I just want to express that I didn't feel such emotion since... can't remember when. I like the new mix and most of all, the unused takes and backing tracks with guide, the chatter, the imperial college live... just f blew me away by miles Couldn't be happier. I'm expecting a whole Queen I weekend, won't stop playing it for a while

Got to say, if they were to start again with the box sets, doing them all in order, and all up to this standard, then I wouldn't complain.

re: Liar [Trident Take 1, unused master]: that bit of guitar coming out of the mini-break at 5:55, reminds me a little of the intro to Venus (Shocking Blue) / Pinball Wizard

It's a real shame to have this little gem at the click of a button, instead of having the CD, inserting it into the music player and waiting for it to play! The fault in this case lies with Queenonline for playing this music today when many of us still do not have the album. I admit that I listened to the song for a few seconds but I stopped it. I want to be able to hold the album in my hands and listen to it in a classic way.

I think it would have been more exciting if nothing at all had leaked, and we were all hearing the new stuff together at the same time as we were opening our box sets or CDs, after weeks of anticipation.

Absolutely loving this. I couldn't list the number of times listening to the 2024 mix I have had to stop and flip to the corresponding track on the original mix to realise I am hearing stuff that I hadn't known was there and was simply buried in the original.
Not sure about all of the drum sounds (SSOR outro for one), but Liar is an absolute thunderbastard. I nearly wept listening to the power of the young band.
An absolute revelation.
Now onto the sessions. These are worth the admission fee alone...
Haven't even listened to the Imperial tracks yet. My wee 60yo mind is currently blown and I'm sitting here with a daft smile on my face. My wife keeps looking and laughing.
If they do this for QII........no words.

The noise reduction of the Doing Alright piano sounds awful, the hiss is what gives it the human sound.

I'm not a huge fan of the drums on GKR. I don't know if it's my speakers but they sound too loud and way too much reverb. Everything else sounds great though.

The book is a real thing of beauty. Such good quality and so lovingly put together. Also fascinating to absorb those really early days, and amazing that they (presumably Brian) kept all those bits of paper, like the receipts, etc. I've looked through it wearing gloves as I didn't want to mark it, but need to spend more time with it.

I can only say one thing. I WANT THE COMPLETE IMPERIAL COLLEGE CONCERT!!!!!!! I can only say one thing: I want the complete Imperial College and San Diego 76 recordings! Kiddin' aside, it is beyond me why they don't offer us more concert recordings in such soundboard quality. Stuff like LA 22-12-77, Newcastle 04-12-79 etc. Or the really really significant stuff like Imperial College. It's like reading whole new chapters of a book you already owned and read a 1000 times. I'm always hopeful for the future though and really believe we will get more. This box obviously is a step in the right direction. The sessions disc from this new box is magnificent. Those Queen in the studio discs all have been mindblowing imo (also the Miracle and NOTW ones). And this one in particular is very revealing about the interaction between the band members. 4 guys busy doing their dreamjob and being their utterly brilliant and funny self. I ADORE it. Archivist Greg Brooks has always said they have plenty of unused studio material and this is clearly the case. I hope we will get a lot more over the coming years. I'm over the moon and feel really blessed. Enjoy Queenfans!!!
