I always catch myself imagining what it would sound like if artists performed other artists songs...What songs can you imagine Queen performing? Or wish they had done a rendition of? I personally can imagine Queen performing and embellishing with these two Glenn Danzig penned tracks. One from his first album Static Age and one from an album a few years later Legacy of Brutality - both from his time with his band The Misfits..I can just imagine the harmonies layered, something almost from the News of the World era and for American Nightmare something like CLTCL - being this was done around the same time. www.youtube.com/watch?v=wpuHOkPeGJ8&feature=share youtu.be/-OH286tcQ_k

Calling All Stations by Genesis.
I'd love to hear a Queen version of it! 😀🗣

You're The Voice by John Farnham is something Freddie could have sung pretty well I guess. The chorus reminds me a bit of Freddie's 80s singing voice.

I think Billy Squier did a couple of songs which would have suited Queen and which I would lovey to hear Freddie sing. 1984 (which has already a guitar solo by Brian), Emotions in Motion (Freddie and Roger on BVs already), Reach for the Sky, You should be high Love, In the Dark, The Stroke...

They worked really well together.

I like to imagine an alternate timeline where Queen did all the music for the Rocky Horror (and Picture) Show.

Now that would be something to see, Freddie and the boys pulling off a full studio version of Bat. I can easily imagine them doing the whole album. Hot Summer Night, All Revved Up and Paradise would just fall in their lap. Freddie would excel on Heaven Can Wait, and one can only dream of hearing Queen perform For Crying Out Loud... With all the AI advancements and deep-fakes, I can clearly see things like this executed in the future, at least in the form of fan mixes.
As both a Meat Loaf and Queen fan, would love to be a fly on the wall for this conversation:

Also, there is a number od Styx songs that Queen could execute perfectly, without a doubt.
Someone asked in another thread (having Rog and Bri write so good and being great singers) if there is another band with so much concentrated talent in one place, well there you go - Tommy Shaw, Dennis DeYoung and James Young all write and sing extremely well and their vocal harmonies are amazing. Their late 70's / early 80's catalogue is out of this world.

First thing that comes to mind is Heroes by Bowie. It sounded fantastic at the Freddie tribute, but I can imagine Freddie singing it with the rest of Queen, it would be amazing. Great song.
Nature Boy,written by Eden Ahbez. Everyone puts their own spin on this tune. The Bobby Darin version may be the most unique, and Queen's version would also be unique.
Speaking of Darin, Mack the Knife as recorded by Queen would be fantastic.

On the Rock Montreal commentary track, Brian and Roger mention that without John they couldn't play music from other bands. Which implies that they used to play privately. Wonder which ones. Would be an interesting question to ask either of them.

If current music counts, Portugal. The Man - Sleep Forever. Similar drumming in the late part of the song as Rog's style (at least for my ears).

I would say Love Me Tender by Elvis Khasmir by Zeppelin Message in a Bottle by The Police Maybe Helter Skelter or Here Comes The Sun, both by The Beatles Also, probably another hit by Elton John or MJ, i think about Rocketman or Smooth Criminal And finally, a song by Hendrix, maybe a hit, like Little Wing or Purple Haze (personally, i would like an acoustic rendition of Hear My Train Comin').

Also, a bit of a shameless plug on my own YouTube channel, but this would've definitely worked as a Queen song (although it was most likely inspired by them):
