It's been confirmed that he was there in October because he uncharacteristically missed his mum's birthday. Here's Jer's exact quote: 'We knew it, in August, September, that he was really ill, and he was in Montreux, and always he used to be with us on my birthday, and this birthday he sent me flowers from Montreux, and he said, "I'm sorry, mum, this time I can't be with you on your birthday but I'll make it up", but of course it was October, and then of course he was very ill. It was very sad at the time.'

He was probably just there to keep away from the London press tbh.

I'm hoping this post is appropriate with this topic. I threw this question out on the fan club facebook forum and on QOL, I thought I might get some good answers here too.
I kindly have some questions regarding the Made In Heaven album and its related releases. There is some nebulous information about release dates, etc. I would like some recollections/verification from anyone who may know.
- The US release is officially listed as Nov 7, 1995. I remember looking all over the place for it when it came out, I was 15 at the time and at the mercy of my parents for transportation. I didn’t find a copy until late November; I want to say around Thanksgiving. Did it come out as early as the 7th?
- In the US, Too Much Love Will Kill You was the first single (paired with Rock In Rio Blues), followed by Heaven For Everyone (paired with Soul Brother). I cannot find release dates for either one. Some sites incorrectly use the UK release dates. Does anyone know the proper release dates?
- On the UK side, Heaven For Everyone was the lead-off single. The CD single was split into two parts. The back sleeve specifically says on CD 1 that CD 2 will be out next week. Were they really released a week a part?
- Some other UK CD singles for the album were released in two parts as well (A Winter’s Tale, Let Me Live). For those two part CDs, did they come out on the same day, or were they released a week a part too?

Yes, that is correct. For Heaven For Everyone, I bought CD1 and then CD 2 was released the next week. A Winters Tale had the lovely christmas wrapping paper with a softback cd and the other was the CD case option.

Steve: Do you remember if A Winter's Tale CD1 and CD2 came out the same week? Or was there a week between? How about Let Me Live?

Does anyone know when the image for the cover was taken? I heard somewhere that the original image doesn't show Brian, John and Roger as well as Freddie's statue and them photographs have been taken later in the process. Is that true?
I would love to see Richard Gray making a Queen book with all his photos and work for Queen.

^ Yes indeed. It's very sad that all we have are very low resolution 'sunset' and 'sunrise' images from queen-fip.com and some similar resolution versions.

I wish they'd put out some official poster packs for NOTW/Innuendo/MIH. But we get a beach chair and teapot.

I'm sure someone has figured this out, but what are the four songs that Queen completed in Montreux in 1991 per Roger's fan club update?
A Winter's Tale Mother Love Lost Opportunity You Don't Fool Me?
These are guesses.

Brian May (Official Website, 21.07.2004): ‘As I remember, the bare bones of this song (and they were VERY bare!) were put down in the last sessions we did with Freddie in Montreux. When it came to piecing together "Made in Heaven", the album, David Richards was keen to make the fragments into a finished song. I wasn't sure there was enough to work on! He got a long way with weaving textures around the vocal sections we had, stretching things out a little. I think both Roger, and John who had had a lot to do with those original fragments in the beginning, went in and added some ideas. There came a point where finally I got enthusistic, and I spent a day or so, with Dave, putting down a lot of different riffy ideas that came to me while listening to the rough so far. Dave then moved a lot of things around, and worked his magic (mixing is his speciality - he 'rescued' a lot of stuff in the past, including Duran Duran tracks, for instance) - and then we all sat around and said, "Didn't we just play that perfectly!" ha ha! Well, that's probably an over-simplification.... but ... there you have it! I really like the track now - but not as much as I LOVE the title track, MADE IN HEAVEN, which I think is possibly the best sounding Queen track ever, and MOTHER LOVE, which is to me the most significant collaboration I ever had with Freddie ..... alongside the one afternon I spent with him on an embryonic verse of "The Show Must Go On". I think I wrote about these things earlier .... But I digress... right ? !’

Queenvault states that TMLWKY was released in US on 5th December 95 (http://www.queenvault.com/toomuchlovewillkillyousingle.html). However the best information on HFY I found was that it was released in 1996....

I forget where I saw it (not at my computer at the moment) but I believe June ‘96 was when Heaven for Everyone was released stateside. I remember seeing it in my mall’s Sam Goody, which was a surprise because I never saw Queen CD singles in any US music store.
EDIT: I’m wrong, it was September ‘96.
EDIT 2: I may have been right the first time, June seems the most likely, the summer 1996 fan club magazine says that "Hollywood Records have released Heaven For Everyone as a single, and have also released to clubs a special Fred Bastone remix of You Don't Fool Me. This track may be commercially released in the USA before the end of July." Then the autumn fan club magazine says that "In the USA Hollywood Records have released You Don't Fool Me as a 12" VINYL, which I understand is very rare for the US, as they haven't released vinyl in years!! It was in the stores from August 20th." So June may be correct.

In the US, I attended a pre-release pary on Oct 24, 1995 near Detroit sponsored by the Official Queen Fan club and Royal Vision (unofficial North American Queen Fan Club). I recall everyone waiting for the album to play while first hearing this wierd "background music" (Track 13) drone on for 20 minutes. I recall loving the opening two songs.
My Royal Vision Fall/Winter 1995 newsletter states a release date of Nov 6th 1995 in the UK and Nov 7th, 1995 in North America.
However, most websites just list Nov 6th 1995 as a general release date, but one stated June 1995, and a few others listed Oct 1995.
I can't believe that the internet is so "confused" for something as simple as an album release date.
