I didn't even receive an email... yet I preordered the vinyl... wtf?! That's rubbish. I was 20 mins after 4 as I didn't check my email earlier as I was busy, so I was pleasantly surprised to get the email for early booking. I thought I'd missed out

Ticket booked, then. General admission, sweet. Not a gig I ever thought would happen again after all these years, so bring it on!

Managed to get two tickets for Nottingham, after hasske with forgotten password etc on Ticketmaster. Noticed they are already on Viagogo at a stupid price (£163 for Nottingham), which really p****s me off! I got my ticket booked for the Bexhill gig. Very excited am I !
Do you guys believe the whole tour will sell out ?
I reckon he’ll sell out.

Yeah, what's the deal with all that filtering? His natural voice is fine. I find it jarring that he applies that effect so much lately. Actually he's been keen on using effects on his voice since the early days. Listen to the big delay on Modern Times Rock'n'roll, especially the final bit... I guess he doesn't like his natural voice all that much, or isn't confident it's good enough, which is a real shame.
Good point! Then again, he has also done the contrary with "Dear Mr. Murdoch" (naked version) *shrugs* I wouldn’t say he doesn’t like his voice – certainly no less than any moderately talented singer likes their voice – just that he might have more a fascination of making it sound different or interesting. He’s been pretty open to experimentation on his songs (varispeeding, Vocoders, etc.). Yeah, I think it's more like that.

Let's hope this will be the best-documented Roger tour so far (or ever?) ... great opportunity for some audience video recordings !

Yay, a sea of phones in the air, with people reaching up to use the digital zoom 'feature'. 99% of footage will be in portrait orientation. Grumpy old git <---- save you the time

I was wondering - how big an area is the stalls on a typical date on this tour? (I'm going to Shepherds Bush Empire, BTW.) I think these are small venues.
While I like the camaraderie of waiting outside for hours before the doors open I wonder how necessary that really is.

They are small venues. Well the Liverpool 02 is anyway (and a bloody awful one imo, oh well.)
Shepherd's Bush Empire is one of the bigger venues on the tour, but is an actual theatre so there will be a rake (gently sloped floor) in the stalls. You should get a decent view/be relatively near to the stage almost anywhere (unlike at the liverpool 02, which is just a long, flat, low room, a truly crap venue, did I mention?)
Most of my fave gigs have been small theatres tbh.

I’m in at the Shepherd’s Bush Empire. Saw the Struts there - great gig and atmosphere. Won’t need to queue for hours… It’s also just around the corner from Brian’s house and as it’s the last night you never know who might turn up!
Can’t wait.

Most of my fave gigs have been small theatres tbh. I saw Blackberry Smoke at the Shepherd's Bush Empire a few years ago, and met a couple of the band outside while we were queueing to go in. The main drama of the evening, however, was finding the car after the gig. We had parked in a massive shipping centre car park (I think it was called the Westfield), and of course, the centre was open when we arrived but closed later on. We had to go in by a different entrance, and firstly it was really weird walking round an empty shopping mall (scenes from Dawn Of The Dead sprung to mind), and secondly, we had no idea where the car was from the way we came in, and it took 40 minutes to find it! Quite an experience all in all. So, if anyone is driving to Roger's gig, remember where you park the car! 😄

I thought he lived in Windlesham, Surrey. Guess he can have two places. 🙂

He also has a London pad where he has his telescope etc. Near Holland Park. His address is on record cos he complained about a planning issue 😂😂

Yes, I remember that now. Guess I just assumed he'd moved. I believe the Surrey pad is where his studio and 'vault' is, as he had a bit of a scare with the Chobham Common fire last year.
I wonder if he still owns Patrick Moore's place in Selsey? Would have thought that was better for his astronomy related purposes, as less light pollution than in London.

I didn’t know he had Patrick Moore’s place.
Going a bit off topic now but my uncle was the relief post man for Brian’s house in Windlesham. Not the regular one. The relief one. Proper tenuous link there 😂

Yes, I believe Patrick Moore had some financial difficulties so Brian purchased his house and allowed Moore to remain there until his death for a peppercorn rent.

Too much light pollution in towns and cities. If he has two houses, the sensible thing would be to keep the scope in the second...unless the second home is in Tokyo?

Shepherd's Bush empire is about 1200 capacity I think.
Smaller than Hammersmith, similar to Brixton academy (so watch Brian there for ref!)
Parking at Westfield...wandered round that car park many times, it's the best long term car park I know of in London. My trick is to try and pinpoint my GPS when I leave the car, and photograph some references points (row, staircase, etc) to help me on my return.

We did note some reference points on our way out, but we hadn't accounted for not returning via the same route! I'll know for another time.

Not confident there will even be full-attendance converts even by October.
I just don’t see the government going for it, not this year….
Looking at how things are going right now…

To be perfectly honest, I'm a little confused as to what is meant by the 'ending of all restrictions', whenever that may come. According to the BBC News website: www.bbc.co.uk/news/uk-politics-57454258If this is the case, then what is there to say that Shepherd's Bush can't open with full capacity, or even the O2? If they're only pushing June 21st back a few weeks, is there not cause for optimism that gigs will go ahead in October?

I firmly believe that by October, the tour will have been forced to cancel as the UK Govt are purposely flip-flopping with restrictions and dates to their own ends. queenchat.boards.net/thread/3/forum-rules?page=1&scrollTo=3■ political, race, sexual orientation or religious posts/threads are not allowed and will be deleted.

I think this is a point that shouldn't be censored in raising - totally valid point TBH and as I work in this industry and have been out of work since this all began its a horrid situation. Fingers crossed by October venues can be open to full capacity.
