As Roger's tour is just a couple of weeks away, i think it's important to discuss about the Covid situation in the UK.
Is it safe to come there? And what is needed if one is coming to England from abroad? What the British officials require to get in? A document that you are fully vaccinated.. Negative test result.. Anything else? And it probably depends also where one is coming from..
I have tickets for the Manchester show, but I'm really not sure if I should go or stay at home...

Most venues are already requiring evidence of double vaccinations or a negative test, and it's looking like the government will be making this a legal requirement soon. The Scottish government has already enacted this from Oct 1st, and I'm sure the UK powers that be will be following suit. I live in the UK, and I've got a couple of gigs booked for October. I'm seriously considering whether I want to go or not.

So, it doesn't seem as though the government is going to introduce 'Vaccine Passports' in England, but I would hope that most venues will still require evidence of vaccination (or exemption), or evidence of a negative test to gain entry to events. www.bbc.co.uk/news/uk-58535258

To be realistic, nothing has actually changed. Venues are already requiring evidence of double vaccinations or a negative test on admittance to events. All this means is it won't be a legal requirement, but hopefully they will carry on doing so.
I don't think this decision has made going to gigs any less safe, but I'm still contemplating whether I want to go to the ones I have booked for October, one of which is Genesis. I realise these might be Phil Collins's last concerts, but I'm not sure I want to risk one of them being mine as well!

When you get to a certain age, you tend to think twice and what might happen. For us older fans Covid-19 is a real threat even having after been double jabbed. If the shows go ahead and you are going please be careful, but I`m in a high risk group along with my wife, so I will not be going. It would have been nice to see RT again, for me the risk is not worth it.

Have any guidelines been released by venues or promoters for Rogers gigs? We’re only a couple of weeks away and I’ve not seen or heard anything….. I’m 42, double jabbed, and I’ll be going, but I totally understand those who are thinking twice about it

The best thing to do might be to check the venue's website and see what their policies are.

Well I’ve had a check on the Newcastle Academy website, and you need proof of a negative rest or a Covid pass, I’ll go for the Covid pass…. It lasts a month and covers nightclubs as well in case I have the urge to do some podium dancing!!

I'm also a carer for someone more vulnerable than myself. The fact that I've heard of several people who have come down quite badly with Covid, despite having been double jabbed, is a worry. I had hoped things would be better by October, but cases still seem to be steadily rising at about 30-40,000 per day, and there doesn't seem to be an indication that this will change any time soon. I think the chances of being infected at a gig, assuming all precautions are taken, are pretty slim, but all the same, I don't know whether it's worth going if I'm going to be anxious throughout the event.

I think we should learn to live with this...I mean, we have to be very careful but also we have to live too!
I´ve been in a few shows last 2 months and no problem. One of them even we were allowed to be standing up. And where I live, we have one of the lowest rates of COVID of all Country (Spain).
My advise: If you want to go, just do it! But when you´re in the arena, just spend two minutes to find a place where you can stay separately from other people. And when the show is over just wait a little to go out.(Are these shows seated ? I really don´t know it...)

With regards seating / standing, I'm not sure what the situation is here in the UK, but I think the gigs I have booked are both seated, which does make it more difficult to maintain distance from other people, and if you happen to be seated near to someone who may be infected, this could be for around two hours, so plenty of time for cross infection to occur. There's no real guarantees with this. I think it's a question of whether you want to take your chances, and you have to weigh up the risk of potentially contracting the virus, and what impact that may have on yourself and other people you may be in regular close contact with.

I'm gladly surprised that many here are thinking it twice. You can indeed still be under the weather if you are fully vaccinated. Many people don't seem to understand that vaccines sometimes cannot fully prevent diseases, but rather merely give you an advantage so that you don't need to spend some time at the hospital.
I also understand those that want to return to normal. I have been going to restaurants and whatnot, but I'm still very wary of packed places and events. I do not trust that everyone knows better. I see so many people not caring about those around them...

If I was single and had minimal responsibilities ... I might consider saying "fuck it" and go, because I am vaccinated.
The CDC states that the unvaccinated are 11 times more likely to die of COVID than the vaccinated.
Actually, I probably would not go ... as I would not want to worry about hearing anyone cough during the concert.

I have cancelled my plans and am not going. Not for fear or whatever of the virus, but the (potential) hassle and any additional costs that I might run into. I simply want to go like a normal person and not initially be restricted or held up by (even more) rules. My ticket for the Nottingham gig should be up for sale at Ticketmaster.

i absolutely support everyone's decision. it is (after all) a personal choice - and every reason given for going/not going are equally valid.
there is (of course) something we ALL need to consider: as pointed out above, we'll be living with Covid for quite some time to come. at some point (when each individual is ready) we need to return to some form of normality. going out to pubs & restaurants, attending gigs, cinema and theatres are all part of that normality.
with regard to restrictions: yes, Covid has placed some imposing restrictions (hopefully not all of which will be permanent) upon us, but, think back to 9/11. air-travel returned to pre-9/11 volumes by July 2004. the restrictions imposed as a result of 9/11 are still with us 20 years later, but we're still flying - and in much greater numbers (until Covid). why? because this is the new normal for air-travel. the concern with Covid is that some folk may not be willing to attend venues due to the restrictions - restrictions that ensure the wider safety of all. somewhere in our collective mentality we have to adjust to the truth that the Covid impositions placed upon social activity may be with us for some time. If we're double-jabbed, and carry proof with us, then attending venues shouldn't be too great an imposition in the grand scheme of things - and shouldn't really be the deciding factor with regard to attendance.
Final thought: the potential worst case(s) of not having restrictions run so deep; further outbreaks, health crisis, mass-unemployment across the entire gig industry, pubs, restaurants, theatres and venues going bust.

And that’s pretty much why I’ve decided to go…. I’m double jabbed, not particularly in the high risk category, and at some point or other, we have to start living ‘normally’ again. We’ve all missed out on a hell of a lot over the last 18 months or so, socially and privately, I for one (and yes, I know we all have differing opinions) feel like we should start trying to get out and about and help these venues and businesses

Hi all,
I had to decide not going to the UK because of the restrictions.
Therefore I have one ticket for Nottingham and one ticket for Bexhill for sale.
Will make a nice price (just below face value).
Contact me when interested. First come, first served..
Cheers, Wijnand

Has anyone got an idea of when the show starts? I’m there on Saturday and obviously Newcastle hasn’t got the support act. My e-ticket says 6pm but I’d have thought that’d be a bit early…..
