Hey guys, before I explain my reasoning, this is just speculation. So by now, I'm sure everyone is aware of this video: For years, it's been attributed to one of the German gigs. However, I think it could be from the Brussels gig near the end of the tour As you can see by the video and the image, It's very similar, it's about the same size and the same positions and everything. The only thing that would prove this to be wrong is that the amplifiers are in different areas, although they could've been moved around the stage? I have no idea, but what do you guys think?

No, man, it doesn't work that way, because they repeated their poses from show to show. And here Freddie has a different belt buckle

And here Freddie has a different belt buckle Yeah, but then again, they never really did any proper choreography (the Rock Montreal shows for example). We'll probably never know, but while there's a very small chance it could be from this show, it's probably not.

I'm inclined that this is Munich, the first concert of the band in Germany

Moving amps around mid gig is very unlikely. They are carefully miked and Brian will have spent some of the soundcheck finding various spots where feedback can occur.

I was thinking it was from like Frankfurt or something because Freddie has the same belt and I think Roger is wearing the same shirt, according to the pictures on queenlive.ca

Frankfurt may still be an option as the Frankfurt pics on queenlive.ca seem to just be Andre Csillag's Oxford pictures.

I would like Liar to be taken from one of the German concerts, otherwise there is nothing left of the visual materials of the European tour

Alright, I'm gonna reignite this thread. I'm thinking the video may be from Helsinki 1974. As you can see, the little stage that's holding the drum-set up has two levels. The bottom is short and skinny, with it being more like stair-steps. This is EXACTLY how it is on the video, as seen in the video: and there are TWO sets of lights over the drum set as seen here: which is EXACTLY how it is on the video: So, I'm 99% sure that this video comes from this show. I've also checked all of the lights from both of these, and they seem to line up pretty well, and so do the amps. Any thoughts?

Yep, I think you solved it. Unless somebody else comes up with evidence that the same lights and same steps were used on other 74 shows

I disagree, in the video the bass drum seems to have 2 microphones, in none of these photos you can clearly see 2 microphones in front of the bass drum. Indeed in the 1st photo it's clearly seen that there's only one microphone, even if it's possible that a 2nd mic may have been added later in the show.. However these photos don't seem to me to be a sure proof.

that picture is so grainy that it's hard to see what's really there boh, I only see one, and in a different position from that of the video, where one was central and the other on the right, but in this photo there is Brian in front covering that part

Fair enough. So, do you have another idea as to where the footage could be from?

I suspect the TV show Liar might be from Munich, since one can just barely see what looks like a second bass drum mic (which wasn't at all standard on this tour, not even the Rainbow shows have it) in one of Didi Zill's shots:
It's just barely visible at the left here, at about the area of the bass drum where it can be seen in the footage:

Interestingly, Munich, despite only having one bass drum mic and not matching the footage, has the same extra mic seen in the footage, and the usual one (as seen below in Helsinki) is missing entirely, unlike the TV footage:
No EU SHA shows apart from Munich and the TV show Liar have any variation on this bass drum micing setup, and the setup was back to normal by Hamburg on the 5th:
Freddie also started wearing a different belt later in the leg (its earliest photographed appearance is The Hague), so it's certainly no later than those Germany dates:
Between all of these factors (and in case of Cologne, circulating audio), we can discount the possibility of this footage coming from (in terms of Mainland Europe dates): Helsinki, Lund, Munich, Hamburg, Cologne, The Hague, Brussels, and Barcelona.
The only mainland Europe shows unaccounted for at this point are Gothenburg and Frankfurt.
Both of these dates have no photos, but we can of course compare using photos of the venue.
From what little one can see of the venue from the footage, there is a balcony directly above the band, as seen here in the upper right:
This would be highly unusual for a place like the Konserthuset in Gothenburg, so we can rule that out:
This brings our attention to Frankfurt, which took place in a peculiar venue. As clarified by advertising, ticket stubs and digging through the Internet, the concert took place in the Gesellschaftshaus of the Palmengarten in Frankfurt, as seen here: The venue is very distinct in that there's a balcony directly above where the stage would be, similar to what's seen in the footage.
Especially considering the one-off micing setup, as seen here:
The mic on the left is seemingly the same one seen at Munich (which is otherwise nowhere to be seen on this tour), and the one on the right is the usual drum mic, in addition to the venue seemingly matching, it seems probable that this footage is Frankfurt.

Ok. How did you exclude UK dates? Much of the UK leg can be completely excluded due to John’s outfit and no photographed night has the extra bass drum mic. The unique venue of the TV show Liar (I don’t believe there are any UK SHA venues with a balcony like the one seen in the footage) and the mic setup seemingly only present at the beginning of December 1974 both point to Frankfurt as being the most likely source. This quote from the Record Mirror also describes the Frankfurt venue very well and serves as further corroboration: “As you enter the 1100 capacity hall, the air is stuffed with the stench of dope — an intermingling of hash and grass and the sweat of a crowd at least 300 over the top. It’s a strange place, a former stock exchange for farmers, complete with balcony, and surrounded by tropical plants.”
