It's likely to be on Fred's anniversary on the 24th or around that date. well, as the 24th is a Wednesday, here's the stuff that's currently scheduled for Wednesday evenings on BBC2: Weds 3rd: 19:00 - Celebrity Antiques Road Trip E2 (of 20) 20:00 - Rick Stein' Taste of Shanghai 21:00 - Universe: E2 (of 5) - Alien Worlds 22:00 - QI - E7 (of 18) 22:30 - Newsnight 23:10 - Weather 23:15 - Disconnect (Drama) 01:05 - See Hear E8 (of 16) 01:35 - Hairy Bikers Go North E4 (of 8) Weds 10th: 19:00 - Walking With 19:30 - Between The Covers E1 20:00 - Life at 50 Degrees (Special) 21:00 - Universe: E3 (of 5) - Alien Worlds 22:00 - Live at the Apollo E1 (of 16) 22:30 - Newsnight 23:10 - Weather 23:15 - Journey's End 00:55 - Autumnwatch E2 Weds 17th: 19:00 - Between The Covers E2 19:30 - The FA Cup 22:00 - Live at the Apollo E2 (of 16) 22:30 - Newsnight 23:10 - Weather 23:15 - Ophelia Weds 24th: 19:00 - Walking With 19:30 - Between The Covers E3 20:00 0 Remarkable Places to eat: Venice E1 (of 4) 21:00 - Universe: E4 (of 5) - Alien Worlds 22:00 - Live at the Apollo E3 (of 16) 22:30 - Newsnight 23:10 - Weather 23:15 - My Feral heart 00:55 - Surgeons At The Knife Edge Looking at the above: If BBC decide to shift the schedule to mark the actual 30th anniversary, then the 23:15 slot looks most likely as these are usually movies/movie-length dramas.

@brenski, do you have the line-up for Fri., the 26th or Sat., the 27th? Thanks! I could be wrong, but why do I have the feeling it may air on either a Fri. night or a Sat. night?

I have just looked at the tv listings it is being shown on 27th November yep, here's the detail: 20:00 - Queen at the BBC A trip through the archives that serves up an hour of killer Queen material, featuring some of the band's greatest musical moments ever delivered to our screens. The legendary band’s huge international status and punishing touring schedules meant that over the years they made surprisingly few appearances on programmes like Top of the Pops, and tragically for their fans, several of those performances were either lost or never recorded.
This collection brings together the very best of what’s survived from one of the most enduring and best-loved acts in British rock, featuring perhaps the most charismatic and best-loved frontman of all time. Amongst the gems are moments from the band’s celebrated 1975 concert at London’s Hammersmith Odeon and highlights from their trips to the prestigious Montreux Pop Festival in the 1980s – an event that would attract the cream of the world’s music acts every year. Songs featured take us from the band’s first ever UK hit, Seven Seas of Rhye, through to These Are The Days of Our Lives, Queen’s last hit before Freddie’s untimely death, as well as all the biggest hits, including the iconic Bohemian Rhapsody, frequently voted the nation’s favourite ever song.
21:00 - Freddie Mercury: The Final Act The story of the extraordinary final chapter of Freddie Mercury’s life and how, after his death from AIDS, Queen staged one of the biggest concerts in history, the Freddie Mercury Tribute Concert at Wembley Stadium, to celebrate his life and challenge the prejudices around HIV/AIDS.
The film hears from those who performed at the epic gig, including Gary Cherone (Extreme), Roger Daltrey (The Who), Joe Elliott (Def Leppard), Lisa Stansfield and Paul Young, as well as the concert’s promoter, Harvey Goldsmith. For the first time, Freddie's story is told alongside the experiences of those who tested positive for HIV and lost loved ones during the same period. Medical practitioners, survivors and human rights campaigners, including Peter Tatchell, recount the intensity of living through the AIDS pandemic and the moral panic it brought about.
22:30 - Queen: The Legendary 1975 Concert On Christmas Eve 1975, Queen crowned a glorious year with a special concert at London's Hammersmith Odeon. The show on the final night of their triumphant UK tour was broadcast live on BBC TV and radio, and has become a legendary event in Queen's history.
Featuring stunning renditions of early hits Keep Yourself Alive, Liar and Now I'm Here alongside Brian May's epic guitar showcase Brighton Rock, a rip-roaring version of the then new Bohemian Rhapsody and the crowd-pleasing Rock 'n' Roll Medley, this hour-long concert shows Queen at an early peak and poised to conquer the world.Nothing to see here. Quite literally. Usual BBC unimaginative fodder. Nothing new, same old rehashed, refried cr*p. BBC have been so lazy here, they've even decided to include parts of Hammy into the "At The BBC" thing @ 20:00, only to then rebroadcast the concert itself 2hrs later! The BBC, God Bless her. The only entity out there that continues to outdo QPL when it comes to disappointing Queen fans!

The 1975 show used to be one of my faves from back in the day, but its been shown that many times now I wouldnt miss it if it was never shown again.

Jesus Christ, at least they are still getting some attention. Not many bands or artists get 3 whole programmes broadcast back to back dedicated to them.....let's look at the positives!!..but oh I forget.... it's Queen fans we're talking about ..too hard to please. I for one am looking to my Queen/Freddie evening.

Looks like Queen are only getting 15 mins....10pm......Fleetwood MAC scheduled for 10.15pm....So looks like we might only be getting what we have already seen. Jesus Christ, at least they are still getting some attention. Not many bands or artists get 3 whole programmes broadcast back to back dedicated to them.....let's look at the positives!!..but oh I forget.... it's Queen fans we're talking about ..too hard to please. I for one am looking to my Queen/Freddie evening. but it's okay for you to make similar points when you feel like it? for the record: none of the posts above are unfair. The Hammy gig has been seen more times than most Queen fans of ten years or more care to mention. this has got nothing to do with Queen fans being hard to please and everything to do with the Broadcaster's half-assed approach to schedule-filling. they could've put this out on the actual anniversary - but didn't. they could've included some new material - but didn't. they could've actually compiled some unique content as a true 30-yr tribute worthy of a legend - but didn't. Strike 3. f*ck the BBC and all who sail in her horribly vanilla waters. not just because of this, but because this is typical of everything Auntie produces these days: comedy that isn't funny, preachy documentaries, biased opinion-based news, wall-to-wall reality stuff and biography/tribute programs that are just compilations of off-the-shelf clips. as a BBC license-payer of 40 years, i am heartily sick of the direction our public broadcaster has headed these last 20 years. time to cut the public funding and make this juggernaut stand or fall on its own merit. seriously, if you're looking forward to the 27th, then i'm happy for you, but not for me, no: f*ck 'em to f*ckdom.

Having just watched the documentary, I have to say it was much better than I expected it to be. There was some funny bits in it including Joe Elliot telling the story about what happened between Elton and Axl Rose behind the scenes at the Tribute concert.
But the bit that had me filling up was Freddie’s sister, Kashmir, talked about Freddie whilst singing along to A Winters Tale. She can’t sing like he did, but it was beautiful all the same.

Given the BBC filmed Hammersmith, I find it hard to criticise them for playing it occasionally. I agree that it shouldn't have been in the earlier segment though, although what they can get the rights to may be a limiting factor.

vk.com/video-I'm not sure if you'll be able to access it from your region though. Thanks for sharing this! I just finished with the documentary and I found it very moving...just the thing I needed right now. It was beautifully done and the last scene with Kashmira brought me to tears. Hearing her talk about Freddie on his balcony in Montreux seeing smoky chimney tops and putting it all into his last composition, and simultaneously hearing her sing it was absolutely breath taking. And for what it's worth, the new interviews with the Brian and Roger were nice too, but especially hearing from icons like Lisa Stansfield and Joe Elliot. To hear their recollections from behind the scenes was a real treat. Again, thanks for sharing the link so that others can enjoy it too!

Staggered that Barcelona wasn’t even mentioned in a documentary dealing with Freddie’s final years and his musical motivations to keep working.

The scene setting interviews with random people were a bit weird, it's a bit like they padded out a 60 minute documentary about AIDS and gay culture in the 80's made for worlds aids day, with some Freddie Mercury content.

I thought it was appropriate and gave more perspective for those unfamiliar with the culture climate at the time.
