The scene setting interviews with random people were a bit weird, it's a bit like they padded out a 60 minute documentary about AIDS and gay culture in the 80's made for worlds aids day, with some Freddie Mercury content. I thought it was appropriate and gave more perspective for those unfamiliar with the culture climate at the time. I totally agree that it gave perspective to how AIDS were seen in those times . I was young and didn’t understand what it was like fully . Awful times . Heart breaking |

I ve watched it twice as I was pissed the first time, however, I noticed they showed the sue cook interviews with freddie about hot space, but i didnt see them the second time, have they been cut? (or did sue cook pull out) It's in the Queen At BBC one hour special. Not in the documentary. |

It answered the question as to when Fred told the band. They 'knew' but tried to ignore it during The Miracle, then he told them when they went to record Innunendo.

(or did sue cook pull out) This was great, it seems the whole Hot Space thing was almost exclusively Freddie's idea. You can see him looking at the rest of the band for support. John and Roger attempt to justify the new direction but it's clear Brian is quietly seething about what they were turning into. Nowadays he defends the album. Is there a longer version of the interview anywhere? |

I always thought a TV broadcast was considered public domain and was OK to share? Concert tickets prohibit the use of audio and video recording equipment so it begs the question what on earth are you allowed to share?

I always thought a TV broadcast was considered public domain and was OK to share? there's a simple rule If an item of music, film, media, print or otherwise contains a © (usually in the credits somewhere) - then that © means that declares the item to be protected by Copyright. reproduction, rebroadcast, copying, or reselling is prohibited without the owner's consent. All CDs, DVDs, TV programmes, movies and printed material will have this little © symbol. However, my question was where i can find it.
I know it's not here and i didn't expect anyone to upload it either.
It's difficult to watch this legally outside the UK. Could try a VPN, but that's not technically legal either.
So the question still stands. Can people outside the UK watch the BBC documentary legally somewhere?
Or should we wait 20 years till it can be shared in the Queen Documentaries thread?

The big difference with Queenzone is that it was 'owned' by an individual, and whatever hosting arrangements there were, clearly copyrights weren't all that much of a concern, although I do believe certain rules did still apply. We are hosted at no cost by ProBoards, and they have strict rules about sharing copyrighted material, which can be summed up in one word. Don't. The relevant sections of their T&Cs have been reproduced in our Forum Rules, and we have to observe them, or risk ProBoards potentially pulling the plug on the forum. This was primarily set up as a discussion forum, not a media distribution hub. We can get away with the unofficial live recordings, but anything official / copyrighted is out of bounds. |
