There's been no mention from either Brian or Roger, or any official source for that matter, that the actual song is "Face It Alone". Please let me know if I'm wrong by linking to any statements from the band, as one of the sources mentions an interview from yesterday - which may be incorrect too.

And I've heard nothing of any interview other than the single interview with the BBC over the weekend where Brian and Roger spoke of an (unnamed) "new" song release. (In fact, I doubt there has been any subsequent interview, as that would itself be news worth reporting.)

Looks like UMG has already copyright claimed videos of the Face It Alone demos, I'd say it's probably already in YouTube's auto detection database.

i wouldn't place any stock in a website whose url contains "feddie" rather than "Freddie". If they can't be bothered to get that right - then what else are they unconcerned with? truth? evidence? fact checking? Yes, let’s completely tar the journalistic credibility of one of the three most-respected entertainment industry news sources in the United States (along with Variety and the Hollywood Reporter) simply because an intern made a typo when creating a URL for the article to upload it to the website … As I stated, they didn’t provide any direct quotes naming the song as Face It Alone. At the same time, they have a very strong track record for accuracy. So while there is always a possibility that they are merely playing “the telephone game“, I suspect the truth is more likely that they got confirmation of that name from some other source that they consider credible, not just a Google search. But time will tell. Even the best journalists are not infallible. M you're being unfair here. i didn't say they were wrong - or right for that matter. my "not placing any stock" is solely to do with journalistic quality control these days- nothing more, nothing less. where (historically) there have always been some print typos, this has almost become an epidemic in the last 10 years or so. no f**ker proof reads anything any more. books, websites, newspapers, magazines and even equipment user guides are littered with spelling, grammar and other errors. it's sloppy and off-putting to the reader. sure, we all make typos - i'm probably one of the worst. but my job/career is not in publishing, theirs is. and to blame "some intern" is ridiculous. it doesn't matter who typed up what. the reporter or their editor is responsible for the finished output - not the intern. so as i said - regardless of whether it turns out that Deadline are proven right or wrong on this, I place no stock in their article and would await confirmation (even where it to have used the same sources) from a report not publishing with basic spelling mistakes.

I'll be disappointed if it's Face It Alone - never did much for me. Is there really not a way to salvage a complete-ish version of I Guess We're Falling Out, a much better track? Actually the main concern is just how much autotune will be on Freddie's vocal! In my opinion, any decent sounding track with a 'new' Freddie vocal is going to be a nice bonus. As long as they don't make him sound like Cher singing Believe, I really don't mind if it's tweaked a bit. I'd rather hear him 'in' tune than out of tune. My main concern is that they make us buy a huge box set with a load of tat we don't really want, just for one track that we do. Hopefully there will be a single release of the 'new' track, then we will see what the box set brings. Fair enough! But I personally feel the opposite. Out-of-tune real singing over autotuned singing every time for me. I mean, Freddie's noticeably flat on the falsetto 'somebody tooooooo' in STL, but I certainly wouldn't prefer to listen to a computer-corrected version.

Finally a new track. Good to see that they still working on projects besides the Q+AL stuff. Hope that there won`t be any quality issues. The version I`ve heard a few years back was terrible.

There's a few articles popping up when you google "Face It Alone". The thing is, I don't know where those websites got the information from considering that Brian and Roger never named the unreleased track? At least from I've seen anyway.. which was the BBC interview they gave before their performance at Buckingham Palace. If anything has happened since then, feel free to correct me.

Zoe Ball was the interviewer when Brian and Roger mentioned this new song. Interestingly, on her breakfast show this morning on BBC Radio 2 (after Radio Ga Ga was played) she reminded listeners about the worldwide exclusive on Saturday evening. She said the song was called Face It Alone. Unless she or her production team read the title from NME or one of the other online sites, maybe she did hear from Brian and Roger when they weren't broadcasting...

One interesting fact crossed my mind today. Everybody mentions Face it Alone in the context of the upcoming Miracle Box, but actually the song was developed further during the Innuendo sessions (I recall Brooks saying that during one of fanclub conventions). It makes me put another question mark on FIA being the song they mentioned, but still, with the title being mentioned in the headlines everywhere, wouldn't they deny it already?

I've been wondering how complete the song actually became. The "3rd" take snippet that I've seen going around sounds much more complete than the earlier overdub take, although it seems to be the end of the song so who knows how complete the rest is.
It being developed further during Innuendo is something I have ever heard before.
Gotta wonder if there is a more complete version from that period.

Actually, the leaked snippet of the "3rd Take" is not from the end of the take. We have the guitars-only track that was intended for that actual take (or the same sessions), so that snippet goes after the 1st minute from the beginning of the take.

If they could spin an EP of sorts if there isn't enough tracks for a full album, that would be amazing. By any note, including Let Me In Your Heart Again in a compilation album may end up being foolish if they could have saved it for a release of all new material (that said, grateful that the song came out when it did - I'll never forget hearing it for the first time).

They could include the original version of Cool Cat with Bowie’s vocals on that EP. Even if he wasn’t satisfied with it. And their mixes of the Michael Jackson duets - once they’ve finalized negotiations with his estate, of course. Both of their estates, I guess.

It has been officially confirmed by Brian in the latest Queen magazine that the new track will be indeed "Face It Alone". He also talks about a special edition of the "The Miracle" album with alternate versions with some unheard material. No date has been given for that.

Gotta wonder if all these news articles actually knew about the track or if it was just an educated guess.
Here's hoping for a substantially different version. That said, the boxset probably doesn't pack any unknown demos.

"some unheard material"
He refers to the gaps between tracks of the regular album, doesn´t he?

Alternative takes ala NOTW anniversary set, new songs and demos, on top of a complete "Face It Alone" version... He's saying that much.
I want to believe!

If that's what we're getting, then it might be interesting after all! I will still moan if I have to buy vinyl I don't want though. 😄

I am very happy with the confirmed news. As some may remember, in another thread, my friend in record company told me 3-4 weeks prior the platinum jubilee interview, that The miracle will have unreleased material and its going for release soon.

Thanks for sharing this, Chin! Glad to finally have confirmation from somebody close to the fire! Now hoping that a press release incl. release datum will come soon.
I'm quite excited about this! The Miracle is the album that got me into Queen and still among my favourites.
Although 'Frankensteined', I really like the 'Raw Sessions' approach. It gives so much insight in their recording and song writing process. Hoping they will the B-sides to this reworked part of the boxset as well.
Curious what unheard gems are included as well.

It sounds promising but i first have to see and hear what they have to offer. It's QP after all. They have let us down countless times. I'm looking forward to these raw takes, alternate versions. Besides Face It Alone no titles have been mentioned so i will keep in mind that we also could be getting demo's like A New Life Is Born, Fiddly Jam, I Guess We're Falling Out, Dog With A Bone, My Baby Loves Me and some more but maybe in much better quality so that could be a plus. But let's wait for a release date. If it would be a lovely boxset with enough content to please us older fans that would be a miracle.

whoa! there, folks.
while I'm perfectly happy to accept we may get to hear some stuff we haven't before, let's just pause for a minute and consider carefully:
what is actually meant by previously unreleased/unheard? there's nothing anywhere that has actually confirmed that the "extra tracks" are not those that have been in the wild for over a decade or more, is there? unheard/unreleased is relative....do they mean by everyone? or do they mean by the general public?
fact: the vast majority of the known Miracle unreleased stuff has been "out there" in some form or another for ages. if we get genuinely new stuff - then great! me? I've been a Queen fan far too long and been fooled by these kind of announcements far too often - i swore they'd never con me again, so forgive me for not buying into the anticipation until the the thing becomes a reality...or doesn't.

Agree with you, have said similar on "the other place". Fundamentally, if the proportion of regurgitation, duplication, or padding is too high, we'll know in advance and make our purchase decision accordingly
