The Browns? ? Noooooooooo! I'm all about the Bengals and I'll stand by them no matter how bad it gets. This is a learning year with the new quarterback. It will be better next year! Katy - We are in opposite parts of the state - so it's understandable. The Bengals can beat up on any other team in the AFC North with my blessing. I hope Joe makes it through the season without getting hurt. Well, Joe doesn't stand much of a chance if they don't start protecting him. Game for tomorrow was almost canceled due to COVID, but at this point it's still on. Better be..........that's my Sunday!

I am a fairweather fan of a pathetic American football team. Dah Chicago Bears. They are very fortunate to have a 4-1 record, and extremely lucky that they did not lose all 5 games.

I've always found it fascinating how popular soccer is in most countries around the world outside of the US. I just recently read that in the US, (American) football is the most popular sport, followed by baseball, basketball, and hockey. Soccer was fifth!
I am a fan of one of the MOST pitiful football teams in the NFL...the NY Giants, who are currently 0-5. You know you are in a terrible division when the division leader only has 2 wins! For now, I will have to rely on the sweetest of memories...the two Superbowl wins against the Patriots in 2008 and 2012...sorry Brenski.
As far as baseball, although I don't watch that as much anymore, my favorite team since the mid 1970's has been the Boston Red Sox. My husband is a die-hard Yankees fan. (For those of you who are not familiar with US baseball, the Red Sox and Yankees have a legendary rivalry.) We attended a night-time Red Sox/Yankee playoff game at Fenway Park in 2018. Had a blast! My favorite part of the evening was when everyone sang "Sweet Caroline"...there was such a joyous spirit.

I didn’t think soccer was that big in the US , I always imaged the main sports as being American Football and baseball ⚾️ Mind you the American ladies football team are the best . The women’s World Cup was dominated by them .

It will be better next year! yes, but I can't see much headway being made in the AFC-N. Baltimore and Pittsburgh have been 1/2 2/1 for so long now. Cleveland's "new dawn" seems to start over every year...while Cinci? they're were my Patriots were in 1982. Cinci's best shot will be when Big Ben retires at Pittsburgh - then it'll be just the small matter of beating Mayfield and Jackson every year. Brenski, we do NOT mention Big Ben in my house! With the injury last year it is time for him to retire. Unfortunately part of my family lived in Pittsburgh for a year and one very young and impressionable member does still wear a Steelers jersey. Soccer is popular in my city and we do have a soccer team, though the name escapes me. I do follow the Reds baseball team, but not as closely as I once did.

As popular as professional(American) football is, college football might be even more popular. The top football stadiums in the US, capacity-wise, are college football stadiums. The top 8 stadiums seat over 100,000 people. Tail-gating parties before games are epic!
The only soccer game I can ever recall watching on TV is when the women's team won the World Cup in 1999.

It wasn’t pleasant viewing for me when they beat us . They fully deserved to win the World Cup . not sure about the US but it really kick started girls having an interest in football . In the UK women’s football had never had such good coverage and the World Cup had never been shown on mainstream TV.

Brenski- You are absolutely correct. The AFC will battle between the Steelers and the Ravens. The Browns proved yesterday they are not ready to play with the big boys yet. Katydyd - The battle of Ohio will take place on Sunday. I am concerned for my Brownies - it won't be easy!!

I'm not really into football but seeing that my dad and younger brother are Aston Villa supporters they are the team I follow even if I know nothing technically! They humiliated Liverpool a couple of weeks ago and they scored the only goal of the match in the last couple of minutes too!
Villa are apparently the most successful team in Europe at the moment as they are the only team in Europe who play in the biggest five leagues to have won all the first four matches...
Not bad for a team who were nearly relegated in July!

Well, I couldn't not support Thistle, despite what I said several months ago. We've not long started our season in the third tier (of 4) and have already suffered a humiliating loss at Cove Rangers. We were top 6 in the country just a few years ago. FFS.

I watched the last gasp defeat at Cove via live stream. Does that count as a Cove-vid case?

I had to search for this ancient thread on American football, but I'm just too pumped to let it go. The Cincinnati Bengals! What a juggernaut they've become! I'm glued to the tv every Sunday and wear my Ja'Marr Chase jersey every chance I get. They played the Buffalo Bills last night, and were considered the underdogs. I guess not!!! Off to Kansas City next week and then.......................
Who Dey!!!!!!!

Who Dey!!!!!!!and long may it continue! It's refreshing to see NFL teams "doing a Leicester" Had to look up "doing a Leicester"! Consider me educated. Actually the Bengals have been building this team for a couple of years now, and while still not always getting the respect they deserve, they are really incredible on the field. The horrible incident with Damar Hamlin the last time they played Buffalo hung over this game, but both Buffalo and Cincinnati showed great respect for each other. I lived in the Buffalo area for six years, but all of my loyalty is with Cinci.

It is not "Doing a Leicester" ... but it is March Madness ... Anyone follow NCAA basketball? There might be no "Elite" teams in the "Elite Eight" How the mighty have fallen ... As of this moment, there are two games left in the "Sweet Sixteen". Out of 68 teams that started the tournament, Only ONE of the eight top seeded teams has survived thus far, and Texas has just began playing a tough Xavier team ... Stay tuned?
