Although with Star Fleet being planned for a summer release, that actually might be the most current Queen-related release by the time they go out on tour. Hmmm! (Nah..) I think they could play a Roger solo + a Brian solo song every concert as a possible deep cut for the fans. Their core fanbase would react as positively to those as they have to Queen's album tracks on the rare occasions they get played, but except for Last Horizon (as part of Brian's solo spot rather than as a band effort), it never happened. Driven By You was a hit and ended up in a Queen compilation, Too Much Love Will Kill You and Heaven For Everyone ended up being released as Queen songs, and not even those got a chance. So I really wouldn't count on Star Fleet... Interestingly, Freddie's solo songs - or at least solo songs reworked as Queen songs - did get some attention: I Was Born To Love You (acoustic back in the QPR days and electric with Adam) and Love Kills. And I really wish they'd play IWBTLY elsewhere in the world, their version with Adam was one of the highlights of their collab and shouldn't be restricted to Japan! IWBTLY is one of the most representative Queen songs for us Japanese. Probably, most Japanese people know this song, WWRY, and WATC even if they are not familiar with the band Queen. However, I had heard that IWBTLY is only popular in Japan, so I was surprised to hear that people in other countries are waiting for this song as well. It was a wonderful performance, and I think it is a shame that it is limited to Japan. I hope people all over the world will hear this song, and since it was included in "Live Around The World" in 2020, even beating out popular songs like "Killer Queen" and "I Want It All", I think it's safe to say that we can expect great things from this song.

They did perform it in Auckland before the pandemic hit, but I think it might've a one-time thing, since it hasn't been on the setlist for the European tour last year. Dare I say this is the only performance of it outside of Asia?

The song was continued from the Asian tour through the first day of the 2020 Oceania tour in Wellington and the second in Auckland, where it was dropped for a while before being played again at the Adelaide show at the end of the tour. It is interesting that this song was also played in Oceania. You are right, QAL has never played this song outside of the Asian tour until now.

Much as we here would all love more deep cuts, live they just don't cut it. Not in arenas anyway. They always get phased out pretty quickly bacause audiences don't respond, they don't know the words, and worse, they get restless. The big crowds want the hits they know, preferably the Greatest Hits I and II - it's not a Queen devotee audience that sells these shows out. There's a very good reason they only played a few bars of Doin Alright. Neil Fairclough did a bass solo on one tour where he incorporated bits of old Queen rarities, including 'Nevermore', and literally everyone sat around me was utterly nonplussed, they all thought he was just noodling some pleasant ditties. A Brian or Roger solo song? Forget it.. I agree with every word, unfortunately.

I'd travel to the UK for that because they definitely aren't doing in America

I notice VIP and Platinum tickets on the Ticketmaster site. I've never done something along those lines - does anyone know what they entail? Ticketmaster is scant on details (Or I'm an Airhead and I can't find the info...)

"Platinum" is a Ticketmaster scam to get you to buy a more expensive ticket which has no extra features. They put these all around the venue to try and sucker in people who don't know how much face value actually is to pay extra. Here's a reddit thread of someone explaining it as well

Thanks all. Forgive me for hijacking the thread - Is the VIP Opera Box the seat for the entire show??! Yes, it is. I had this in London last summer. It’s a fantastic experience, when you want to experience, what it’s like to be on that stage and look into the audience. You see and hear, what the band sees. Downside: Most of the time you see the back of the band. Unless they walk by, up and down the stairs ect, then they come close, like in the picture above. You also don’t see the videos on the screens, which is a bit dull during Brian’s long solo, since you’re behind the screen. Before the show, you get a backstage tour (which had been really shortened due to Covid rules last year). So it was essentially a 30 minute talk beside the stage with Andy, the stage manager. He told us about the stage and answered many questions. The video guy (don’t remember his name) and Pete also came along to talk a bit about their jobs. For most fans it’s really a great experience. It depends a bit on the other fans in your box and how you agree on swapping places, standing or sitting ect. There are 10 chairs in 2 rows. The chairs had numbers, but we were told, we can sit, where we want, although there had been numbers on our tickets. So, of course, the first people in the box took the frontrow. But apart from 2 of us, we just placed the chairs in the back and stood, so that about 5 or so people were standing in the front of the balcony, beside the other 2 on chairs and the rest stood behind them or their shorter partners. I wouldn’t really recommend sitting in the back, because you can’t see much from there (the boxes are higher than the stage). But standing in the front with great people around you is the perfect experience! 😁

Seeing Roger drum and sing I'm In Love With My Car on a Montreal '81 VHS as a teen inspired me to pick up the sticks and play. Life changing! The opportunity to watch Roger drum from the side/behind isounds like a dream come true!
We'll see if I have the guts to pull the trigger once I see the pricing...
Thanks so much everyone!

You’re welcome! There’s indeed no better place than the Onstage boxes to watch Roger drumming! Edit: But why are these tickets so much more expensive than they had been in the UK? $1500 instead of £900. As if that wasn’t enough… poor American fans.

Good to see that the first batch of shows are selling well! I refuse to believe that shows are selling this well this early. I know Queen sells and will probably sell out most places closer to show dates, but even most of the shitty seats are gone for every show i've looked at. Seems like Ticketbastard is being sneaky (again) imo.

I looked at the Toronto show, I realise this is probably the last time I'll get to see this band that I've loved for over 40 years but I bailed. I've seen Queen plenty of times, and I've seen them with Paul and Adam a few times too. I love 'em, but jeez, not at those prices. I just cant justify it to my long suffering wife. Toronto is a 5 hour drive for me, it's a Sunday night on thanksgiving weekend, so I need to stay over, miss the family. And then the following Saturday were off to the UK for a week. Thats a lot of travel in a short time.
Anyhow, despite the above I did get in the queue for tickets, and was shocked at how expensive they were when they showed up. No wonder they were keeping the prices quiet.
I wish them well, but I have to laugh at this whole, no scalping thing they are trying to push. They are beating the scalpers by charging scalpers prices in the first place.
$340 to sit at the back of the Arena. The seats I had at the 2005 6? Paul Rodgers show, First seats in front of the catwalk... are now $1600 each. That's insane, I paid about $60 back then. Most of the floor seats are platinums at $900 each. Who the feck can afford this?
Me actually, I can afford it... but I'm not going to pay it. I can convince myself the date doesn't work for me, but deep down I know if they were cheaper I'd have pulled the plug and convinced the family later. Not many seats left now so I assume they have sold well. But jeez, someone is making a fortune.
I just realised the VIP seats that come with extras are actually cheaper than the Platinum tickets that don't. That will have caught a few people out. It did me. Still crazy prices for the VIP, but at least you get fed.

I don't know how it's works in the US, but here in the UK, I tend to avoid ticket agencies like Ticketmaster, and purchase direct from the venue box office. In our case, it's usually AXS to purchase for the O2 venues. I did pay about £180(UK) per ticket when I went to see them in London last year, which is probably about the most I would pay for a concert ticket, but we had reasonable seats, and it was such a good show, I felt it was worth the money.

Still crazy prices for the VIP, but at least you get fed. A friend of mine said that regular tickets for the show in Atlanta were $59 to $225. The problem is Ticketmaster with its fxx Platinum Seats. Their prices go up and up with such a demand. I wonder, why is there no limit? I‘ve never seen such outrages prices for shows in the UK or Europe. Even worse is the total number of Platinum seats in the US. It looks like about half of an arena can be Platinum? In addition, the floor and first tear are also mostly VIP seats. Not many regular seats left, huh? It‘s just crazy to think, that there are for instance normal seats that are more expensive than the VIP Onstage Package.

The official sites of the venues also link you either to Ticketmaster or Live Nation (which is essentially the same). I read that Ticketmaster has a monopol contract with many venues in the US. That’s the real problem, why ticket prices in the US are out of control, IMO. On the other hand, I really would like to know, if the artists can choose not to sell Platinum seats… and who really gets all that money.

Got tickets for the Boston show!!! The whole process was extremely stressful. Paid more than I had originally planned, but the majority of tickets were basically gone within about 10 minutes, maybe less. I knew they would sell out quickly! Every available pair of tickets I selected were already purchased in the 3 seconds it took to click on them and move them into my cart. I tried several times before having any success. You could literally look at the seating chart and watch the seats disappear. Have never sat up close for any concert in my life...but my husband and I will be 7 rows back on the "Brian side" of the stage. I'm excited! Not surprisingly, the scalpers have snapped up tickets and are reselling them on Stubhub and other sites at ridiculously inflated prices. I hope they are stuck with their tickets or end up selling them at a huge loss! They make it hard for true fans to be able to attend shows.

Got tickets to the first night in Dallas! This will be my first-time seeing Queen ever live. And making sure I get these because it might be my last. Only problem is that they're very expensive of the "Ticketmaster" And there somehow "Premium" How much did everyone else pay for their tickets?

I was going to get them, but the checkout was $800+ for 4 tickets! And it was $80 for each ticket, for nose-bleeds! Quite ridiculous prices, so unfortunately I'm gonna have to pass this time around (unless the tickets reappear somewhere else for more reasonable prices)

Not one venue is close to being sold out yet so we could see prices come down a bit as we get closer to the shows. Definitely has dropped in demand compared to the 2019 tour.

Adams manager wrote on Twitter „It’s all pretty much sold out“. That’s why they added the additional shows. And that’s what other fans are seeing.
