If all goes well, the The Miracle Box Set will be released later this year. Does anyone have any info on this, apart from the speculations on the other forum?

If all goes well, the The Miracle Box Set will be released later this year. Quite the big "if" when we talk about QPL. I gotta wonder if they've shifted any resources towards making it happen sooner because of the lockdown. You'd think this is the time for digital releases, and since they had to delay this year's tour, they'd focus on it more and hopefully it will come out sooner. Same with Brian's box set. That said, they might want to keep it under wraps until right before next year's tour... who knows what their priorities are right now.

What a damp squib lol. Hopefully it will be far more imaginative than that.
The demos and out-takes we all know and love but in superior quality would be a good start for inclusion.
As for actual content and release date, it's all speculation. I think lockdown might push it back as we can't get out for the physical product.

No pun intended, but it's gonna take a miracle for us before they release something good. You'd think this is the time for digital releases, and since they had to delay this year's tour, they'd focus on it more and hopefully it will come out sooner. Same with Brian's box set. That said, they might want to keep it under wraps until right before next year's tour... who knows what their priorities are right now. This would be a good time for them to stream some of their past concerts in lieu of the tour. Wembley '86 would be a great show to stream at this time. If they wanna do Q+AL, they got their Japan concert from 2014, and didn't they record a concert in Australia that same year?

Metallica, The Rolling Stones and Pink Floyd are doing alright with their YT streams, but why Queen can't?

Metallica, The Rolling Stones and Pink Floyd are doing alright with their YT streams, but why Queen can't? Tell me about it. Metallica in particular definitely delivered the goods and more with their Metallica Mondays. Genesis even streamed all their existing live concerts that their fans already have on their DVD collection by now, so why can't Queen do it? They got enough shows they could stream (I'm talking about the ones they've already released like Wembley, Montreal etc.) and a definitely an audience for it.

Greg Brooks Despite the on-going lockdown, work on 'The Miracle' box continues, as well as designing the 'I Want It All' book, and numerous other Queeny things too. It never stops. I have come to realise that nothing stops the mighty and relentless Queen Machine from moving ever forwards, not even a deadly virus. Stay safe everyone. Hopefully things will start to return to normal soon.

Can you please post your source?
Good to hear it hasn't come to a halt. It's the kind of project that could potentially benefit from the artists staying at home, hopefully.

Excellent news, good to hear. I shall remain positive until I have reason not to be, which hopefully won’t be the case 😁

TBH not bothered about the 'other Queenie things' that will be included - don't need a Breakthru train ticket or something similar!

The only thing that interests me is getting the videos in 4k really. Unseen video material and new songs would be great too. But I can not see that happening.

I still think It's an odd choice for a Boxset. The album wasn't one of their best or most popular.

still hoping it's a miracle-innuendo sessions thing - ie. final recordings. otherwise, yes, to celebrate that specific album would be a bit odd. it's 40 years since the Game's release.

The sessions of The Miracle and Innuendo are rich in new material, there are as many songs made between 1988 and 1989 as the sessions of the first album, since they had songs that fit in the debut album and in Queen II and SHA. Looking forward to this box !!

I think they chose this album as it's enriched with both audio and visual content. Numerous demos, outtakes and unreleased songs. As for the visual, I assume that DoRo filmed a lot behind the scenes stuff and interviews. I don't think many other Queen albums have this much video content.

I'm sure there probably won't be as much 'new' stuff on a boxset as we'd all hope, judging on past releases. I hope i'm proven wrong but their past track record isn't overly great. I know a lot of people give Greg shit about the archive but at the end of the day he doesn't have a say in what is released. I guess we'll have to wait and see how this one pans out.

Looking forward to this box !! Yeah, great point. You gotta wonder how much there can be that spans from pre-Queen I to SHA. Same with pre-The Miracle to post Innuendo. Very prolific times. Although I don't expect a lot of new content for the Miracle boxset, and what may be featured could amount to 1 CD worth of doctored material (ala NOTW set), it's a solid candidate given the sheer amount of studio recordings they must have in the vaults.

to be honest...it didn't make any sense to release an 'anniversary' box of The Miracle one or two years later of the actual anniversary... also... the miracle? I think that the band have a couple of more remarcables and succesful albums than The Miracle, but anyway... it could be nice to release a 'Later Years' box set covering The Miracle and Innuendo, and the later recordings, with videos and documentaries...

I think The Miracle has the advantage of not having live material, in the NOTW box there are many things already used in other boxes and in the 2011 remaster itself. I wouldn’t see the need to release 3 CDs for NOTW with so much repeated material, and on The Miracle there were the tracks Stealin '(full jam), Dog With a Bone, Face it Alone, I Guess we're Falling out, Too Much Love Will Kill You (demo), A New Life is Born, Rivers of Words, and these tracks can fit on a CD only with the B-Sides already released and possible demos of those already on the original album. Another advantage would be only BluRay with clips in high definition.

I truly regret there's no logic whatsoever behind their releases. The only thing that is certain is that they hold on to their rarities (for us the most interesting stuff!) as long as they can. Many chances of offering great bonus product to a standard product have NOT been taken.
I have 0 expectations for this Miracle boxset. Actually, I expect a disappointment. Sadly this has become the only way to not get desillusioned by the official output...

Agreed on almost all counts. Not sure why the focus is on The Miracle as there are much better choices and I also have ZERO expectations and ZERO hope that anything coming from QPL will excite us. I hope I am wrong and would be happy to admit it if we get something great.
