In short, he didn’t say anything specific. Which could mean nothing interesting should be expected.

Any ideas of how Sony can make Queens back catalogue more interesting than the 2011 editions with a bonus disc included with a few different mixes & instrumentals. For me it has to start with a four disc anthology including lots of stuff that we have not heard before & not just a best of run through. Queen Live Killers released with all the stuff that was missing from the original release. That would be a great start if however Brian still has a say on what is released then I will be dead and gone (I am 60 at the moment] , before these see the light of day !

A multi disc anthology w/unheard material would be great. Beyond that I want their Hyde Park, Earl's Court and Houston 1977 concert footage released in full.

I think that we will have to wait until the end of 2026 when Universal contract expires, so Sony Records will have 100% not just Queen catalogue.
So from Universal (EMI) probably will see releases like Rock Montreal rather than something new, which is kept for Sony.
Parlaphone records in 2008-2010 released singles boxsets and absolute greatest having "withdraw" Greates Hits I+II and Platimum.
By 2011 Queen did a three years contract which included GH albums, reissue albums, streaming etc and Forever . The latter was delayed and postponed its release with the renewal in the end of 2013.

Yes, I think a 70s Live Anthology box would be very well received, including an unedited 'Live Killers' set, Earls Court, and something from the NOTW tour, be that Houston or something else hidden in the vaults. With today's technology, I'm sure they could work around any technical limitations of the original recordings, albeit with subsequent complaints of 'tampering' being inevitable.

Trying to keep expectations realistic, I’d quite like to see a comprehensive collection of the band’s 12” remixes, because that’s a fairy obvious hole in their catalogue. Even better would be a revamped singles collection that actually includes every single, B-side and 12” mix, on as few discs as possible instead of pointlessly spread out across acres of mostly empty plastic. Basically what those sets were originally intended to be before it became the mess we actually got. And yeah, a Live Killers box obviously

As a serious Queen collector why should I buy reissue singles or LPs when I have the original first pressings UK-USA-Japan and other countries and in the majority singles and LPs, boxsets etc really limited editions. Back in the ages where the demand was really high and the releases truly limited. That's how the records or any other collectible was made. Now days Queen are selling 3500-6000 physical copies staying in charts for 1 week and the 80% was limited edition copies😄
Of course there will be all that kind of reissues but it isn't for me.
What I'm interested unreleased material especial studio.

Because - newsflash - not everyone out there is a “serious Queen collector” who owns a first pressing of each and every vinyl single the band has ever issued. Not to mention there’s stuff of those singles that still isn’t readily available on CD.

As I said but isn't quoted only a part, those reissues isn't for me and also a record company of course is going release things like that. My point is that usually are expensive for their quality and not really limited. So with the same or less amount of money there are places like small record shops etc , where everyone can buy some original singles or other items.

The holy grail is a decent Live Killers.
I also wouldn't mind an extended Live Magic. As bad as it is I love the artwork and its sound. I know its full of overdubs (both records actually) but I've always loved it's sound right from when I first heard it on a worn out vinyl from Hamilton City Library (NZ).

Here's the latest from Greg Brooks fb:
Hello everyone. It's been too long since I offered anything here. Sorry for that. There's been an awful lot going on, with work and family matters, but finally some breathing space and an opportunity to update a little. So...
I've received various messages in the past month, especially via FB, WhatsApp and text, expressing all kinds of worries and speculation. Well, I can tell you that all is well and as busy and productive as ever within Queen world and within my particular corner of it, here in the archive. As usual, we are working, and have been working, on various exciting projects, one of which may actually be THE most exciting thing I've ever worked on. It's "right up my street", as they say, for all kinds of reasons that will become obvious, and I know it will be to your liking (or indeed loving) too. I'm not talking about books here, by the way.
Nothing much changes; we are forging on with all kinds of ideas, relentlessly planning and researching, preparing tapes and text and photographs for when they're needed. I would say that these are among the most exciting times there's ever been for the Queen Team, and therefore will become so for you too, soon enough. Expect the unexpected is all I can offer at this time. But don't be worrying about anything stopping, because that'll never happen. Quite the opposite is true; lots of new and intriguing things are planned for Queen fans far and wide.

Alludes to a decent Live Killers or Anthology and then delivers a 2025 edition of Greatest Hits using exclusive recycled paper from thrown away copies of earlier Greatest Hits albums.

Christ, it’ll be a quarter century next year since the Queen anthologies were first mentioned by the archivist as being released “next year”. Time flies when you’re waiting for rarities!

Well if he is as busy as he claims and has claimed for so many years there must be a huge backlog of releases ready to go?
Is this just another one of he’s look at me posts, aren’t I great working away in the depths of the secret archives bunker. . . .
I’m surprised, he just stopped short of claiming he’d found a 48 track digital master of Hangman!!!

The (so-called) Archivist is completely aware of my opinions of him. I made no secret of telling him directly in conversations on the old QZone forum. I think it's virtue signalling nonsense to assume that I (or anyone else) maybe hiding our opinions from the man himself.

What a stupid habit to discuss a person behind his back. While I applaud your intention, and usually would agree with you, there is backstory and history here. Greg knows exactly what most of the long term Queenzone members thought of him. He spent years gloating to and goading several members of the forum about what he had access to, not letting things drop... then came begging for information a week later because he needed photos for his book, all the while insulting people in the same thread he was begging for help in. Completely unprofessional. That said I never had any trouble with him, but I've seen with my own eyes that other members did.

Greg doesn't decide what gets released, he either assembles something to an external instruction, or proactively assembles proposals. When / if those releases get released is down to RT/BM and the record company. There's enough that Greg CAN be blamed for, there's no need to add things that are out of his control.

Perhaps if he didn't open his ever-wide mouth with prick-teasing "nothings", then Queen fans wouldn't indulge in the time immemorial tradition of Messenger Shooting.

Yeah I’m fully aware of how this works. But Greg can’t help telling the world something is in the works and how exciting it is when in reality he should keep quiet do his job and let the record company tell the world when something really is on the way. He has no idea what the record company or the band are really deciding on. His ability to be wrong far outshines his real knowledge. . . Doesn’t the Live Killers box set ring any bells?
