Fleetwood Mac co-founder Peter Green has died aged 73.Solicitors acting on behalf of his family said in a statement: "It is with great sadness that the family of Peter Green announce his death this weekend, peacefully in his sleep. "A further statement will be provided in the coming days." Actress Dame Diana Rigg, famous for roles including Emma Peel in TV series The Avengers and Olenna Tyrell in Game of Thrones, has died at the age of 82.Her daughter, actress Rachael Stirling, said she died of cancer, after being diagnosed in March. "She spent her last months joyfully reflecting on her extraordinary life, full of love, laughter and a deep pride in her profession," she added. Dame Diana also played the only woman who became Mrs James Bond. She played Tracy, who married George Lazenby's 007 in the 1969 film On Her Majesty's Secret Service. British boxing legend and former world champion Alan Minter has died at the age of 69.Minter, who won a bronze medal at the 1972 Olympics in Munich, claimed the undisputed world middleweight title against Italian Vito Antuofermo in Las Vegas in 1980. After he won a rematch against Antuofermo, Minter lost the title to Marvin Hagler inside three rounds at Wembley Arena later that year. Minter had been suffering from cancer. Seems he released a new album only in July of this year. RIP Gordon. A lot of people will probably only remember him for that very single, "How Wonderful You Are." |

Sir Sean Connery has died at the age of 90, his family has said.The Scottish actor was best known for his portrayal of James Bond, being the first to bring the role to the big screen and appearing in seven of the spy thrillers. Sir Sean died peacefully in his sleep, while in the Bahamas, having been "unwell for some time", his son said. His acting career spanned five decades and he won an Oscar in 1988 for his role in The Untouchables. Not only was he a national treasure for Scotland, he was a treasure for the whole world. I love him for James Bond, but so much more...Highlander, Last Crusade, and especially The Untouchables.
There doesn't appear to be any info yet on what he died from, other than he was "unwell for some time." Still, 90 is a good long life! And what a legacy he left behind.

Apparently he turned down the roles of Gandalf in LOTR and the Architect in The Matrix, claiming that he didn't understand the characters. Since both would have netted him lots of millions, he decided not to turn down another role for an existing IP and he did The League Of Extraordinary Gentlemen, which effectively ended his career out of personal disappointment, haha.

Sad news. I hadn't realized he was 90, so that's a long and productive life. I'm not a James Bond fan, but The Untouchables and Red October stand out in my mind. Oh, and of course, the Indiana Jones films.

In 1964, my parents took me to the drive-in because they wanted to see Goldfinger. I was 10 years old. Although I probably didn't understand much about the movie, James Bond was a legend to me. He will always be my favorite Bond....James Bond!!

Actor Geoffrey Palmer, known for his roles in such sitcoms as Butterflies, As Time Goes By and The Fall and Rise of Reginald Perrin, has died aged 93.He died peacefully at home, his agent said. Versatile and prolific, he was known and loved for his hangdog expression, lugubrious delivery and the often testy demeanour he gave to his characters. As Time Goes By saw him star with Dame Judi Dench, a partnership they revived in Bond film Tomorrow Never Dies. He also acted in Mrs Brown, again with Dench, and The Madness of King George.
