Do we know if the content/mix of the CD and/or LP will be any different from the 2007 version?

I’m interested in the 4K disc and possibly the blue vinyl. Too bad the QOL Store will not recognize my account login or ability to reset my password or let me enter the birthday discount code they just sent me…. They reset all customer data few months ago, you'll have to make a new account. Try the discount anyway, it worked all year long last year for me lol

And so it begins. Not as much as I thought (yet!) but some nutter has already bought one. eBay link (shortened URL is legit!) shorturl.at/axD28

Only the 4k is really worth, after 37 years of collecting, I dont go for the bait of triple blue vinyl. I have the original first press boxset. The ridiculous high prices in ebay are out of any knowledge and logic, from sellers who don't know anything or try to bite fans.

I guess this was inevitable, but with the amount of times I've bought this concert, it would probably have been cheaper to have gone to bloody Montreal to see it. In a private jet! I still have the original 1982 VHS video, plus all the countless re-releases.
I got a new 4K TV last year, but I'm not convinced the upgrade from Bluray is all that mind-blowing on some releases. Hopefully this will be worthwhile.

I've bought this enough times.
I'll download it at some point.

... Predictable. They didn't even bother to release both nights as a deluxe CD. It is the very same idea for a product as they had back in the 2007. Live Aid Rehearsal is the only new addition but we already have heroes here in the Queen community (looking at you ChiefMouse) who actually have bothered to "restore/rescue/upgrade" footage of the rehearsal as much as it is possible.

some people seem to assume they have the complete audio for both nights.
do they, or is that "just" wishful thinking?
Sadly I fully believe the narrative that any film that wasn't used in the final edit was thrown away. Audio? less sure.....

Hopefully this will be worthwhile. we might like the way the HDR looks on this one - that sometimes helps to set it apart from non-HDR. I think you only really notice the big difference between BR and UHD when you compare it on a larger screen - like an 80 inch+ HDTV vs an 80 inch+ 4K TV. Apart from that, you do notice a difference in fluidity and motion - 4K will usually look more fluid than its HD equivalent. Could be more noticeable on this one than say watching a Leonard Cohen concert in 4K (should one exist). Can't put my finger on why that would be though ;-)

The overdubs haven't been touched at all, so I'm not interested in the slightest.

Does anybody know what the original aspect ratio was? What shape were Saul Swimmer's mobilevision screens?
Also "wide-screen" is non-specific - The Good The Bad And The Ugly is wide-screen, but is 2.35:1, so has massive letterboxing.

Full frame! I'm very enticed 😃 Depends what they mean by "full Frame". It could be the original TV 4:3 aspect ratio..... They really should have been more precise.

Looks like they have dropped the price of some of the bundles. The 4k bundle has now dropped from £96.99 to £90.99. I have enquired about getting the difference refunded….

The old WWRY 4:3 releases definitely had more image at the top and bottom than the 16:9 QRM release, but the latter has a fair bit more on the sides. (These aren't exactly the same frame, but there was no camera movement or zoom between these two moments) The extra side info could be due to modern film scans tending to capture more of the frame than older ones, but perhaps the original aspect ratio was indeed somewhere between the two. Whatever the full-frame OAR is, I'm looking forward to seeing it in UHD.

Also… Will be interesting to see how well TV footage from 1985 upscales to HD. And will be nice to have Dolby Atmos mixes of Live Aid as well as the Montreal concert, as long as they’re on streaming services too as that’s the only way I can listen to Dolby Atmos (on Apple Music).

Unfortunately, where it's situated, the biggest one that will fit is a 48".

They're incredible! It looks like they've also sorted the pictures of the bundle, as it's now clearly a digipack for the CD (definitely looked like a jewel case in the bundle but digipack if bought separately)

Was there a problem with the original video of Flash and The Hero? Seems daft not to put them on the Blu-ray and 4K releases and just audio only release. Or am I overthinking it and it's a money spinner?

The problem is that Saul Swimmer/Mobilevision threw away all the unused footage at some point before QPL bought the rights to the film. This was indeed daft, but there's sadly nothing which can be done about it now.

The thing that beggars belief is that they've shoved this out as it was in the can waiting to go, but they're still sitting on the Q+AL livestream video, which could also be released with very little effort.

Or am I overthinking it and it's a money spinner? They had to choose songs to not film so the crew could adjust or something (reload film?). That's why, at the beginning of CLTCL, Freddie says "C'mon. We're waiting for ya". They're waiting for the camera crew after having missed the last two songs. I'm sure there are more details to be found somewhere.
