Hello! Anybody noticed that CD2 does not have "I" ("one") suffix on its cardbox? This little fact drives my OCD-mind crazy 🤣
Cannot see any logic in it...

When the 'new' drums kick in during the intro of My Fairy King, WOW!

I have now ordered the two disc version after "Lord Fickle's" glowing recommendation ,I couldn't find it on Amazon ,so I ordered it from "Queen Online." By the time they add Tax ,VAT & Shipping , I am sure it can be found a lot cheaper elsewhere. It's my Birthday next week so if I get some cash injection it's going to be a toss up between the full box set or some of the Japanese Live CD's that they have in stock at the moment. Some of Amazon's prices have been shocking lately. Anyway, here it is on Amazon UK: amzn.eu/d/94N8sDnAnd here it is on Rarewaves: www.rarewaves.com/products/0602465259087-queen-1If you are ok with FLACs the full set is $17.98 from HD Tracks. In better quality than the CD set as well. The pricing structures seem a bit off to me. That's approximately 10% of the box price to buy it in higher definition and with no postage cost or VAT issues. As a fully committed idiot I have obviously bought both. Other people's mileage may vary.

The jaunty, lighter style with the bouncing bass of Keep Yourself Alive on Trident Take 13 sounds way more like the band that had hits with Seven Seas of Rhye and Killer Queen than the style they ultimately decided upon for the song. I think they got too het up with trying to sound “serious” for their first single.

I received the 2CD last night - the full box set is a bit over my budget. I'm looking forward to a thrilling listening session tonight. However, I noticed something a little odd in the credits, and I was wondering if anyone knows what's going on. Let me just quote the part I'm referring to:
"CD2: Queen I sessions (...) Recorded by: Roy Thomas Baker (1, 2, 4, 5, 6, 8, 9 & 11) Louie Austin (3, 7 & 10) and Terry Johnson (13)"
But...there are only 12 tracks. Who is Terry Johnson? What song did he record? Is "(13)" simply a typo, and did he record another song that is accidentally credited to RTB or Louie Austin? Or was there meant to be a 13th track that was cut from the final release?

Must be a typo because there isn't a 12 otherwise, and SWAFIB is the only different track. I checked here too www.discogs.com/release/32084076-Queen-Queen-I

Finally got to hear the Great King Rat outtake, it was very interesting that the line "Very soon you're gonna be in the Bible" which was used live as to not provoke the more religious attendees originated much earlier

Had a casual listen to the new remix and some of the bonus stuff.
Not sure how I feel about the remix tbh. I like some of what they’ve done, other things I’m not so keen on.
Like the San Diego live tracks. The Imperial College stuff is fascinating but the sound quality makes it unlikely I’ll rush to listen to them again.
My favourite thing so far is the fact they’ve cleaned up the De Lane Lea demos, so that now we basically have some nice fully-produced alternates, especially “Jesus” with the extended guitar solo.

I finally found the dolby atmos mix out there. Very interesting becouse you can have just the voice of Freddie on one channel and do your own acapellas of the record Where did you find it? I was so hoping for a blu-ray with the atmos-mix..... Dolby Atmos mixes are on Apple Music (probably TIDAL too).

Having said that, I can't find them myself, at least, not in iTunes. Anyone? Where are these legitimately available for purchase? I don't have it myself, and my original trial has long since elapsed so can't take out another, but I believe they were going to be available on Tidal as well. Managed to get further 1-month trials of both Apple and Amazon Music. Can't find the Dolby Atmos mixes on either. Has anyone found them on legitimate sites? As mentioned before, I have used my month's trial to Tidal so can't check there. I still can't believe they would invest time in making surround sound mixes and not make them available in the physical media releases. EDIT: Just saw the post above (posted immediately before mine), need to check further.

There are tools to download from Apple Music if you have an account there (Obviously not supported by Apple). The ATMOS files that come out are 6 channel E-AC-3 JOC 48KHz. I think you can fold down them easily to 5.1

Haven't been able to check Apple Music yet.

I just checked again and it says clearly "Atmos" on the app of amazon music. Maybe it's region dependent, or perhaps you've got to have the 'Unlimited' version. I have Amazon Prime and it doesn't show as Atmos in the Amazon Store app, or in the Amazon Music app for me. Or is it just that it doesn't show on a mobile?

You need to pay the monthly subscription, and put into the app (they have a free month) and when you play it, it appears Atmos and you note clearly

No, sadly. It needs a subscription apart. Anyway that first month is free

Lol I have never known a band to produce an Atmos mix and then make it so hard to actually find. I asked Greg Brooks at the convention about the Atmos mix and he said it's prepared. It didn't occur to me why they're doing it. It's obvious now.
