I'm trying to figure out what Freddie wore at every show on the News of the World Tour. I've only listed ones I can confirm through pictures confirmed to be of certain shows (and now with Philly 11/23, by the word of someone who was there). Feel free to help me by putting pictures from the tour in this thread.

Just yesterday I was thinking about the same thing. I remember someone made a thread on QZ about all the leotards Freddie used to wear.

Given how much wear #1 got, can only imagine that #2 was lost/ destroyed, as they'd be largely indistinguishable pulled out of a laundry bag.
Also #3 could have been converted to #4.

He only wore this outfit one time during the video shooting of We Are The Champions music video with the following little gig of that day in October 6, 1977

Thanks for compiling. For Philadelphia November 23, he wore the black/white harlequin and the silver lurex for the encores. As with most shows on the tour, he always started with the leather jacket and removed it before or after Brighton Rock. I went to both Philadelphia shows and both NY shows and the outfits were the same for first night in each city and the second show the same again (orange/red) in the second night. I cannot remember if he wore any sports teams’ hats in the encores in either city. i never liked the black/white vertical stripe leotard and glad he chose not to wear it too often and let it die a death...

can we count his jackets with leotards as new outfits? No, I'm specifically referring to the leotards. His jacket never changed on this tour, so it would be totally redundant to list them as new outfits.

I entirely approve of this thread.
NOTW was Queen at their visual best on stage - no question.

Just yesterday I was thinking about the same thing. I remember someone made a thread on QZ about all the leotards Freddie used to wear. That would have been me! I also added a thread on the black with diamonds outfit having multiple versions. Thanks Ryan for the list of outfits. In addition to that: Freddie wore the silver in NY 2/12/1977. In Brussel 17/4/1978 he wore both the black and the silver.

If I have the time, I'll tack it on at some point.

Yes it's not really part of the NOTW tour cause the setlist don't including NOTW songs at this mini gig

^ What a shot! But this must be Jazz Tour, the drum riser has the lights mounted into them.

If memory serves me correct, that shot you shared is from Oakland 12/16/1978

For some reason the Jazz bass drum skin was used for the first few nights, and then they reverted back to the robot.
The smaller kit on the B stage had the Jazz skin, though. Who knows what their reasoning was.

Ah, see, while the article mentions the Portland gig, it never specifically refers to those pictures as being from that gig. It's likely that they are, but until we can know for certain, I'll hold off on adding it. It's entirely possible that those pics were taken in Boston or Detroit (Or perhaps another gig where Freddie wore that outfit).
