I think this is actually a damn fine version of Sail Away Sweet Sister. Well done to those two!

I watched this yesterday and I loved it! They're so talented and I love their vocals too. Glad QAL have these two with them.

Wow! Nicely done. I’ll listen to that again.
Anyone know the significance of the thumb up/thumb down? Is that a band in-joke?

It turns out that Tyler is indeed a talented musician. Here he is doing the entire Permanent Waves album by Rush

I admit I had no idea who those people were, but I really liked their performance, especially the vocals.

I thought that was brilliant. To say this guy is an all-round talent has to be the understatement of the century! To be able to play like one of the Rush guys is one thing, but ALL THREE? WTF! 🤪 He's also done La Villa Strangiato, note for note, which is no mean feat. I only hope Geddy Lee and Alex Lifeson have noticed him, just in case they get bored of retirement... 😀 www.youtube.com/watch?v=GD5Xo1Tkh4U

what a wonderful gift. One only can wonder why this song has never been played live. It's such a masterpiece Brian played it a few times in '98, but that's about it.

I admit I had no idea who those people were, but I really liked their performance, especially the vocals. They're in the Q+AL touring band. Tyler was originally the drummer of the Queen Extravaganza, and he got promoted a few years back after Rufus got his gig with The Darkness.
One thing Brian has always done exceedingly well over the years is surround himself with great players. This video shows how worthy these guys are of being in the band - they have done their homework. Few players stylistically understand Queen better than these two.

Great song and one of those where I never want it to fade out but to continue into some instrumental monster.

I'm still getting over the awesomeness of his Permanent Waves! I‘ve known Tyler for years, because he has been a member of the Queen Extravaganza and has been touring with QAL now for the past 3-4 years. He‘s an excellent musician! He has breathed Queen from early on. His parents‘ band, who are huge Queen fans, has covered a lot of their music. There is this video on YT of 8 year old Tyler playing drums for The Show must go on. He even had copied some of Roger’s mannerisms. Both Neil and Tyler know the Queen catalogue VERY well.

Tyler is one talented motherfucker. Without a doubt one of the best rock singers in the world, never mind his instrumental prowess. Here he is doing The Game in its entirety:

He's already done Tenement Funster.
And the rendition of It's Late is just ridiculous. Most rock singers can only dream of such a soaring tenor.

It's not at all hard to do, but it's Roger's signature sound - and to this day you won't find too many drummers who do it, unless they're massive Queen fans. Same goes for hitting cymbals on the 1 and 2 after a tom fill.
Amazing how much was already in place at age 8. When I was 8 I'm pretty sure I was able to follow Lego instructions.

He's also done a full electric version of It's Late, which is just as, if not even more awesome! Not sure about the rest of the stuff on this album, but I will give it a listen some time: By the way, this is also available on Bandcamp, as is his Permament Waves - for free!! tylerwarren.bandcamp.com/album/t30

His takes on New Born by Muse and La Villa Strangiato by Rush are just note perfect and sonically faithful to the originals. His understanding of the music is so far beyond the chops required to play them well. And the sheer breadth of what he covers is mighty impressive.
Sometimes I prefer covers to be far removed from the originals, to see what stamp an artist can put on a song. But some things are just so challenging and rarely taken on that succeeding is enough of a feat in itself. Tyler is a legend.
