it's now official: www.queenzone.com/Queenzone.com is now closedi will put a dump of the forum DB on here in the next few days. Let's hope he takes privacy and security a little more seriously than he did moderating the forum. Yeah, I went and changed my email and password to random gibberish before it closed at least, thanks again guys for letting us know about that issue so we would have a chance to do that! |

Quite sad. It was probably one of the first Queen sites I went to when I became a "proper" fan in 2004. I didn't go on as often as I did recently but knowing it's not tucked away somewhere in the internet is a shame.

I believe it may have been more for those who did have QZ email accounts back in the day, so that they can sign in to their accounts and forward on information. That's my impression, at least; it would be awfully crass if Richard shut down QZ then tried to get people to sign up for a pricey, irrelevant domain!

Did anyone get a response from Richard about the password issue ? Does anyone actually think email addresses and passwords will be included in such a data dump !? Is there any legitimate concern that they could somehow leak ?
It's horrifying that they were stored in plain text, in 2020.

No response to me. I don't really know what form this 'data dump' will take. Is it likely to be a searchable database? I'm pretty sure he could be in all sorts of trouble if he made personal data available for anyone to view. |

Releasing such data as user passwords is against the law in most countries. I do not think it will be ever dumped.

I’ve already found out so much about queen here and I’m loving the sharing of the gigs via mega links . I could never figure out how to do this beforehand.
I like that there is no toxic atmosphere but I will admit to being nervous to post because I don’t have a vast knowledge . 😀
