Agree with most of the above mentioned grievances. I would like to add: - Freddy - The "Freddie took Princess Diana clubbing" myth everybody still including in their stories, while it has been debunked ages ago. - Most cringy comments on YT videos i the line of "Freddie is immortal", "He is singing in heaven now", etc etc - Marc Martel still singing Queen songs and releasing them. - Rudi Dolezal.

Agree with the Marc Martel comments.
As much as I don't really love Lambert's tone, he is far more accomplished singer and performer than Marc, and a way better choice.

^^^ Add to that all the hype surrounding Freddie. I get why he has nearly all the attention and respect people's reasons to like him, but him overshadowing the other members is honestly saddening. it's not really hype though, is it? dead artists are (generally) more venerated than their living bandmates. factor in the "unofficial" band leader tag and it all adds up: Lennon, Cobian, Garcia, Hutchence, Ronnie Van Zant, Ian Curtis, Bon Scott, Strummer, Cornell...there's a certain unavoidable "extra" reverence applied when someone was "taken from us before their time". it's human nature, rather than hype.

Ok I didn't expect that comment to become that long. For those who don't want to read all that shit, here's the short form: I LIKE QUEEN
What I hate most:
-me telling someone Queen's my favorite band, and they go like "Oh, yes, Freddie Mercury is great" or "Boh Rap is great" Queen is more than 1 guy and 1 song! Many people don't take Queen serious. Same thing for some other bands I like. EDIT: actually the people who hate the most on Queen are: Musicians. A Musician myself, I find that especially Guitarist have something against Queen and Brian. Probably they only know songs like I want to break free, Under Pressure and Radio Gaga, with relatively simple guitar parts. Also, musicians particulary hate Boh Rap -People stalking Deaky. LEAVE HIM TF ALONE -the Marc Martel stuff/ Hate on Adam. Ive seen both QAL and Marc live. What others said: Marc: Singer YES Showman NO. Adam is both. SERIOUSLY tell me one band that got a new singer who already worked as an Impersonator of their original singer.
While I agree with most of what others wrote, I feel like I am also guilty of a few of those. 1. I called Made In Heaven "not really a queen album" a few times. I wouldn't say that today anymore, although I still don't like the Album (I rarely listen to albums after the Works (which I Love For me their best post 70's album)) 2. Not really paying attention to the solo stuff. I only have Brian's Back to the Light, which I bought because of the re-release. I really like it and plan to buy some other solo stuff from Bri and Rog. Was never a fan of Freddies Solo Stuff 3. Although I never called Hot Space the worst queen album, it's the only album I still DON'T even HAVE! I mean I know the songs on it (which are much better in live shows) but I don't own a copy of this Album
Some other thoughts: Isn't it strange that they emphasize GH1 so much more than 2? Because generally their releases focus towards the later years (Wembley, Live Aid, ...).The only thing we ever got from the 70's are some Demos on boxsets, and Rainbow. And that amazing SBD Recording of Sleeping on the Sidewalk on the NOTW Set, really unusual for them to release a raw soundboard.
Slightly Controversal View: Flash Gordon is a great Album.

- back in the school days, waearing a Queen shirt , someone confronts you with the question "Are you gay ?" combined with bad jokes after his death - the thesis that "Hot Space" could be a potential No. 1 Album nowadays. - the thesis that Queen could go on Tour for "The Miracle" back in 89` ( aside from single TV performances/ maybe possible) - the people around Freddie (like Rudi D. and Peter F.) who disembowel their relationship to Freddie in shows like these www.youtube.com/watch?v=7MpWQexhBoE

-Paul Gambaccini acting like an expert on Freddie and any other deceased celeb in any documentary that will have him.
-the played out Love of my Life with Freddie at Wembley on the screen. (Was fantastic at first, though)
-Brian always saying before every tour "we are going to be dangerous and spontaneous"
-the whole Bri army thing. (Imagine a Rog army for Outsider?)
-Freddie not sauntering to the piano in '82 for the end of Save Me. The synths were dreadful there.

A lot about Queen annoys me now. But personally it's fans wanting them to STOP playing as Queen+ etc that annoy me. It's just as much their band as the other 2 and THEY ARE FUCKEN MUSICIANS!! IT'S WHAT THEY DO AND WHAT THEY LOVE!!
Let them play whilst they still can and whilst they still enjoy it.

So I received an email from a friend who wanted to share with me a cat parody of Bohemian Rhapsody. And my initial thought was "Oh boy, not another one." I can't even tell you how many times a friend has shared a parody of Bo Rhap. I've lost count, but it has to be in the hundreds by now. So it got me thinking, what are some things that annoy us Queen fans? For me, it's being shared parodies, especially of Bo Rhap. There are so many out there and for some reason it just rubs me the wrong way. So what say you? What annoys you as a Queen fan? A lot of parodies are funny in my opinion. I know it's not Bohemian Rhapsody but this is one of my favourite Queen parodies: Vic and Bob are very funny comedians, and they do a great job of playing Brian and John respectively. I've never seen a better John impression! Matt Lucas is Freddie in this and his role is quite funny too! (Not a clue who plays Roger though!) Im pretty sure it is Matt Lucas who plays Roger in that clip.

I would like to add:
- so-called psychics talking to the 'spirit' of Freddie and putting it on Youtube or in books. - Also shit like this:

All the pointless teasing, mainly Brian's: - "So there are more songs left with Freddie than we remembered... (not that we're gonna do anything with those)" - "So there's much more we did with Bowie than you know... (not that you're ever going to find out)" - "So I did more stuff with Eddie Van Halen back then... (not that there are any plans)" - "So we found a 1970 gig recording that's pretty awesome, we're cleaning it up to see what we do with it" / "Nevermind, Roger doesn't want this out, LOL!" -People stalking Deaky. LEAVE HIM TF ALONE Now this is important. He's got some health issues and we've seen enough to know he doesn't enjoy being asked for autographs or whatever. Just let him be.

Things that annoy me? Hmm, how about the 50th anniversary which turned out to be a horrible disaster. Aside from Roger's new album which i do like but the Queen festivities are complete shit.

And (imho) there aren't as many solo fans. but, the casual fans are not interested in anything that represents a deeper dig. casual fans are there for the GH, Movie, QAL-live ride - and therefore, they're more than happy with the content they've been presented with. By very definition, anything deeper is irrelevant to the casual fan.

How Roger and Brian butchered the Queen legacy.
Seriously, a band this huge with almost zero interesting releases.
The Feel Flows boxset of The Beach Boys reminded me again that some bands DO care.

Nowadays I'm glad they didn't arse about with "Queen" stuff so much after 91. Made In Heaven, LMIYHA, a few top notch live releases (Bowl, Rainbow, even Hammersmith) - the Mercury/May/Taylor/Deacon legacy is intact.
Touting as Q+PR or Q+AL is something else but does not impinge/taint that legacy. In fact the only real mis step was Cosmos Rocks in my view.
To answer the OP, actually my answer is "almost anything beyond the music". (I think of videos/concerts as 'about' the music btw.)
What I particularly dislike in this area is stuff 'about' the band beyond their work together. All the combing through Freddie's private life. Discussion about Brian's personality or John's mental health. Basically anything personal that the band don't put 'out there' feels cheap to me. (I do not include Brian's social media etc, that is his right to share and he has control over it).
I also cannot stand all the horrible abuse Adam Lambert gets (the original LPs are still intact), or the ceaseless moaning about collectors items etc. (Yes it's mainly tat but collectors gonna collect, plus capitalism, hello. It's of no interest to me but does not taint the music so does not bother me either.)
Essentially any stuff and nonsense "about" Queen that I cannot relate directly to the Queen LPs on my shelf,* annoys me...

*Ah. Queen songs on adverts. That really does annoy me.

I'd like to add one recent annoyance. Last week just before Freddie's yellow vinyl was released, Jackie send emails to fan club members saying "...it makes me VERY angry, but it is already on Ebay, and hasn't even gone on sale yet!! So unfair that real fans miss out to the money grabbers!" I mean why sending those useless words to innocent fans instead of telling whoever in charge that you should just make more copies.
