I agree that people shouldn't hate it, but I can see why some don't necessarily like it or listen to it often. It's quite different in both musical style and lyrics compared to most of their other songs.

-"Ten things you didn't know about Queen/F.M." lists, with information we all know. Or even worse: "Ten things you didn't know about Queen/F.M." lists, with false information.

Or reaction videos where they just play the song and then say something like "it's good" or "it's sad" and that's it.

Things that annoy me: -People who spell "Freddy"/"Fredy" (and I'm not talking about my mother, but people who call themselves "super fans") -People who take the movie as gospel -Tribute bands -People who make jokes about Freddie being gay -"Ten things you didn't know about Queen/F.M." lists, with information we all know. -Fans who hate "Delilah" -People who think "Love of my life" is a love song and "You're my best friend" is a friendship song. How could I forget the most annoying of all: headbanging to Bohemian Rhapsody.

Two things come to mind that I find annoying (and yes, I realize these examples will sound very picky)...
1) Every informational piece about Freddie that starts off with, "Freddie Mercury, the flamboyant rock star." Nothing wrong with the adjective "flamboyant" per se, but it's overused and implies Freddie is style over substance.
2) Every description of Freddie's command of a crowd (and not just the Live Aid performance) that uses the expression "....had them eating out of the palm of his hand". I find this almost cringeworthy! Again...so overused. People need to come up with something more original!

To be fair he was saying the first line of the song! oh jeez, fella! - you even requoted my - and still didn't see it. my post was a joke! however, that aside, you don't know for sure he was "saying the first line of the song". none of us know his intentions. there's at least three possibilities here: ♦ he could be saying the first line of the song ♦ he could be introducing the song as in: "It's..." " 'A Kind Of magic'" ♦ he could have mistitled the song as "It's A Kind of Magic"I'll re-quote you again and say that I knew you were joking!

Parodies (once you've heard one, you've heard them all), and also cover bands. It's one thing to just play a few Queen songs at a gig or something like that, but when the main guy is dressed like Freddie with the moustache and the Wembley jacket, idk, I know they're doing it to honor the band and mean well and such, but it just feels weird and not in a way that I like, y'know? Get used to it - tribute bands are a very serious business now. There is a huge demand for them, especially if the original band doesn't exist anymore.
If bands do the dress-up thing, people go to these shows and listen with their eyes, and that's half the battle. And it's not just older people who experienced the bands way back when who come out - it's people of all ages. They want to be fully immersed in what made these bands great, and it's not just listening to the albums.
Sure, there are a lot of tribute bands who are old fat guys who can barely fit into the outfits and haven't done their homework, but there are just as many tributes who are truly excellent at what they do and can sell out theatres for $40-50 a ticket. It's one of the best ways for musicians to make a decent living, too.
The Lamb Lies Down on Broadway is one of the greatest pieces of art created this side of Beethoven, and it's nothing short of incredible that these guys from Quebec have recreated every minutiae down to the outfits and the staging of the ensuing 1975 tour:
Should this music be reduced to just a few songs at a general cover band gig, or is it a beautiful thing that bands like this exist doing it exactly as Genesis once did it ? If it's the former, then the old Genesis dies and is gone forever.

I just don't really like Queen cover bands all that much. Maybe if there was a cover band for Queen that was similar to the one listed above, I'd probably be into them, but none of the ones that I have found are. However, This could just be me being mad that there are virtually no cover bands of Queen that focus on their '70s albums, like Queen II or NOTW

There are people who can do one or two of those things at most, but not the whole package. The man was truly one in a billion. There's a better chance of winning the lottery than pulling off a '70s Queen tribute.
And that's perhaps the only consolation here - the bragging rights for being something so unique that it will forever remain in the past.

Only hearing 6/7 of the same Queen songs on mainstream radio Yeah that's a major one.

Things that annoy me: People who think "Love of my life" is a love song It's not? Yes, but it's about losing a love. You don't play it at your wedding (as many people do).

You don't play it at your wedding (as many people do). it's still indisputably a love song - 100%. if you dig a little deeper into the history of pop music, you'll find that around 50% of ALL love songs are about broken hearts/break ups/hurt etc. so, if it really does annoy you that: -People who think "Love of my life" is a love song - you'll be even more annoyed to discover that this would be almost everyone (except you) who has heard the song considers it a love song.

1. People who give Queen II short shrift because it's pre Killer Queen. It might be my favorite Queen album, though I love them all, including Hot Space.
2. Indy/Alternative Rock/whatever-you-call-them fans who give me an "eeeuuuww" response when I tell them I'm a Queen fan.
3. People who set up some kind of Sparks vs. Queen argument. It's asinine. They are both beyond outstanding groups and there is no reason to compare them.
Hrmmph.

The Press
Still do this day they take debunked rumours like the Diana club thing and make it seem like the truth or they take words and construe them in to what they want.

Hrmmph. i wasn't aware that this was a thing. sure, some Queen or Sparks fans might discuss it - but the Brian May "potential link" is a valid enough reason for discussion/what ifs etc. but outside of those communities, i suspect it's seldom thought about. it's still indisputably a love song - 100%. if you dig a little deeper into the history of pop music, you'll find that around 50% of ALL love songs are about broken hearts/break ups/hurt etc. so, if it really does annoy you that: -People who think "Love of my life" is a love song - you'll be even more annoyed to discover that this would be almost everyone (except you) who has heard the song considers it a love song. I agree. Queen II is my 2nd favourite Queen album after SHA.

Another annoyance that I have are those comments that say "Queen had better songs in the '70s but better live performances in the '80s". I'm not saying these people are wrong, but it's them saying it like it's a fact that really grinds my gears.
