Now *that* might be an interesting topic - Queen songs you wish had never been made... Probably has never been done before! Please add a poll with the worst songs plus an "other song (comment)" option :-D

I voted for See What A Fool I've Been and Mad The Swine. I don't think the former would have worked well on Queen II but the latter could have fitted in quite nicely on their debut album.

Ah I’ve come to appreciate Rain Must Fall over the years. It’s no great shakes compared to the Big Five on The Miracle (plus Was It All Worth It), but it’s a solid album track that’s fun, breezy, and playful. For me, Brian’s guitar work on the song alone redeems it from being barely listenable filler to a halfway decent album track, similar to some of the other “margin” tracks from past albums; I’m reminded specifically of Who Needs You, another “filler” track that’s fun, breezy, and playful.

I can imagine Coming Soon was the either/or - I prefer A Human Body but I'd almost certainly bemoan Coming Soon if it was only a B-side! Perhaps Fun in Space should have just had an extra track. I never liked Coming Soon until the DVD-A came out, and for some reason, that renewed it's appeal for me. Maybe it was just more interesting because they used a different take on some of it? Same with me. DVD-A gave it back to me. there are voices in the "coming soon ..." part, i have heard for the first time then ... don't know, if they use different takes for that ...!?

From what I recall, the story goes that they couldn't find all of the multitracks for the original version, so used a different take for some of it.

I don't actively dislike Soul Brother, but the falsetto feels particularly unnatural, almost to the extent where it's comedic. I agree that the vocals seem almost like a parody And that's precisely the point and is its charm - Mercury is not taking himself that seriously in 1981. Like The Beatles' Glass Onion, it's self-parody at its best.

Mostly here not to lose rights.
I have A soft spot for A Dozen Red Roses For My Darling as A Kind Of Magic was the first Queen single I bought.
Mad The Swine is clearly the best B-side though. Any other answer is just wrong.

Stealin' is a favourite of mine. Freddie sounds so relaxed and you can hear it. It slowly rolls on right up the insane tempo change at the end. As Freddie says it at the end. Whoo!

I quite like My Life Has Been Saved I do too – it’s not a classic but I love Brian’s slide guitar work (something lacking on the MIH version, though MIH has a more natural drum sound) and the piano. The production is a little echoey compared to the rest of the album; perhaps a somewhat drier mix might improve it.

It doesn’t make my “revisionist” version of The Miracle, but Stealin’ is a fun, bluesy excursion that’s so unlike anything Queen ever did in the past. Also, love that sound Brian gets on the acoustic guitar – anyone know if that’s just a standard acoustic or if it’s something else?

Any other answer is just wrong. Not a good look for a first post on a forum. Ah its all in good fun I think.
That being said, I suspect that stating that MtT is the best B side might be an "unforgivable offense". LOL
I personally like IGC as a B side favorite followed by aHB.
Unlike most, I like a DRRfMD as a B side, and believe it to B much better than DLyH, but I tend to have a soft spot for instrumentals.
I dislike mLHBS a lot, as I hate its preachiness.
I hope I will be forgiven ...

I "unforgiving" love the RMF and WNY "filler" tracks, partially because of their "funness". Both of these songs are in my top 20 of Queen songs.

Agreed with Dozen Red Roses – it’s far more interesting than it’s counterpart (and is another example of Freddie’s screeching, which he was doing quite a bit on that album). edit: ah bollocks how the hell do you embed youtube videos on mobile

Mad The Swine - possibly the only full fledged old-style Queen B-side I Go Crazy - infectious and uncomplicated A Human Body - wistful and atmospheric Hang On In There - would have been one of the stronger tracks on The Miracle, collaborative both in composition and playing
As for the other side of the coin: I've learned to tolerate just about anything Queen ever recorded, including acquired tastes such as Body Language , Rain Must Fall and Delilah. The one song I skip whenever I have the chance is Pain Is So Close To Pleasure. The falsetto just creeps me out.

Surprised to see "See What a Fool" doing so well. Fun enough live but very by-the-book musically in the studio and featuring Freddie's most mis-judged vocals until Hot Space

Alright, both of my picks are tied with A Human Body for 2nd place, but the winning choice seems to be edging further ahead.
EDIT: Oh wait, Mad The Swine just got another vote.

I always liked Hang On In There, the I Want It All 7" was the first 'new' Queen release I ever bought. To me it's stronger than some of the tracks on The Miracle.

I've always thought that 'My Life Has Been Saved' is at least partly inspired by Freddie's situation, media speculation about his health and the band, etc. It was the B-side to 'Scandal', so it would make sense. "I read it in the papers, there's death on every page..." could refer to media coverage of HIV crisis, character assassination of Freddie and Brian, demise of Queen as a band, etc. "Here we go, telling lies..." could refer to lies told by the media, or the lies the band were telling others and themselves about Freddie's health, etc. "I thank the Lord above, my life has been saved..." could refer to John's gratitude that he's dodged the media character assassination and/or illness, etc. You get the point. Anyway, although I don't think it's the best B-side, I think it's a sincere song and somewhat underrated.
'Mad The Swine' is probably the B-side I actually listen to, more than any other.

All are great hidden gems. Hang On In There is one of my favourite Queen tracks from the entire decade - very unique even just in its structure.

The b-side of My life has been saved is my fave from Queen in the 80s. It had the lyricism in Brian's guitar and more robust playing than the MIH version did, which I found to be generic, keyboard padded pablum. Then again, I have a pathological hatred for the MIH album. So much so, it made me stop posting on QZ because I despised it so much I got into a heated thread with Adam Baboolal, who took me to task for saying that I thought the album was manipulative and contrived, and how dare I say that about "the boys" and their attempt to pay tribute to Freddie. I decided that arguing on QZ or anywhere about my opinions was a waste of my life so I posted 2-3 times a year there after that and much better as a result.

I have to go off book on this one, because honestly I think that Queen B-Sides overall weren't that great, but there is one Queenish B-Side I absolutely love and that is:
Freddie Mercury - Stop All The Fighting
Out of the available choices I voted for "My Life Has Been Saved", but not with very much conviction.

As we approach 100 voters there's a clear winner in "I Go Crazy", closely followed by "Mad The Swine" and a tie between SWAFIB and "A Human Body".
Just curious: we do know that "Whipping Boy" (AKA "I Go Crazy") almost made it to the album (it showed up among other discarded tracks in a promo tape). "Hang On In There" kinda made it too (on CD). "Mad The Swine" was meant to be featured in Queen I as well. The question is: do we have any hard evidence on any other last minute removal from its respective album?
I believe "Lost Opportunity" was recorded after the album was complete, but then again it doesn't really fit among the Innuendo tracks IMO.
