Thers's just something about Freddies's voice that when you hear something 'new' from Freddie it just consumes your brain space.

I think its a john song, the chords suggest it, and the fact brian and roger couldn't be arsed to work on it.

This song kind of sucks in my opinion.
It's super overproduced, and the drums are mixed terribly, especially the snare drum.
It sounds like the intro of a song which is building up to something.... but then nothing happens and then it ends.
Don't even get me started on the pitch correction.

...It's super overproduced, and the drums are mixed terribly, especially the snare drum. The drums sounded terrible on most of The Miracle tracks which actually had real drums, other than Was It All Worth it, which is definitely the best sounding song on the album, and possibly one of the best sounding songs in the later years. I'm hoping for a raw version on the box set, with less synths.

John's songs were usually more upbeat and poppy - the opposite to this. And, I don't think there's any animosity between Brian, Roger, and John, so I can't see that that would have been a reason for B&R not to want to work on it.

Although I don’t think John was the reason Roger and Brian didn’t work on it. It does sort of sound like a John song but it more sounds like a Freddie song. It could have been a Freddie & John collaboration?

Honestly some of the complaints about this track are so overboard. It's basically what was originally recorded presented in a fashion that could be widely released. Sure, there's pitch correction but they weren't putting out the raw demo so that's obviously gonna be a factor. I'm enjoying it for what it is.
They could have added lots of stuff and totally changed it and people would have complained just as much.

There's a strong sound in the attack of the snare and then it immediately goes dull. It was the first thing I noticed with the track with the teasers they started posting. The Miracle tracks didn't have the best drum sound, but they don't even come CLOSE to as bad as this.

I like how it fits in between Scandal and Was It All Worth It (in place of My Baby Does Me) on The Miracle. With finished verses it could fit there nicely.

Thers's just something about Freddies's voice that when you hear something 'new' from Freddie it just consumes your brain space. Indeed, I really sticks. Not just Freddie's vocals though. It's a simple and clever melody, and even the clearly Demo'ish feel of some of the vocal parts don't bother me as much as i thought they would.

I'm not very convinced about the backing track, but if they made it like this, that's how they felt it in their hearts

To me, The Miracle is one of the "happiest" sounding Queen records, while FIA has that kinda sad, kinda ominous sound we get from just about half the tracks on Innuendo and a few of the new tracks from MIH. I like it, and it just makes me wish even more they'd pull another MIH by reworking a bunch of old demos.

It really grew on me, and I put It on the level of the stuff on Made In Heaven. I Love the Lyrics.

It would be very nice if they release in next moths a 12" single with Face it alone extended. Having the power ballad part it is few seconds but gives the something which is missing. The miracle era was in the 80s trend of 12".
I wonder did anyone asked in the convention why they did use more guitars or the climax part?

It might not be nice, given that most remixes (which it would have to be, as clearly this is the best Brian and Roger think the demo can be) have not been particularly well received over the last 30 years, going back to the Hollywood remixes, through the Miami Project, various Freddie singles, etc.

I think this is a nice try with a bit more vocals towards the end.

I begin to like the simplistic approach to this song, as I appreciate Freddie's 'biting' and 'attacking' the lyrics tremendously. As is said before in this post, it's so nice to hear Freddie so CLEARLY. His voice does sell.

I'm pretty sure an alternate version does exists, just as they did with There must be more to life than this (Gold mix). Engineers had surely given Brian and Roger a listen to an alternate track to know how would be the best to release. Maybe someday we'll have a leak...

Had there been much radio play of the song in the U.K.? I've only heard it the once. Then again, I tend to listen to BBC Local Radio and new stuff takes a while to trickle down to them. I have my doubts they'd play it much anyway, as it's not particularly radio friendly.

Yeah I’ve not heard it all apart from R2 on Thursday… I listen to a mix of BBC local radio and commercial, and I’d be surprised if Heart or Capital decided to play it!

The BBC's playlist meetings tend to conclude on a Thursday of each week, so there'll be a refresh on Friday (as a rule).
