IMHO rock bands should not meow. Cheers, Ogre- Being the ultimate rock star, Freddie Mercury is the only who can pull it off, though. he clearly did no such thing.

I guess the chart performance will be better with the physical release.

and despite the flood of billboards and advertising I guess the chart performance will be better with the physical release. why? it was advertised widely and had little impact - chart "sales" (these days) are downloads/streams. it'll be interesting to see if the muted general listener response (thus far) give QPL the excuse to not bother again.
It seemed Brian and Roger’s solo works had reached a predictably satisfactory result (first week in Top 10 chart and then disappeared from the chart completely). I think it resulted from physical purchase by fans, instead of random listeners streaming. Of course I may be wrong.
It isn't only Brian and Roger albums for 1-2 weeks on top 40, almost many back catologue artist have same fate. Strong first week and then dive or disapper. Face it alone as digital download and YT streams still does very well. While Queen are strong on stream platforms, Face it alone did very little. Top 100 singles and albums charts are heavily based on streams. If it wasn't streams on charts FIA would have gone number 5-6. Based on digital sales. Its physical sales are doing well, but I don't know if they are so strong to beat streams. The song isn't radio friendly and is also half done. Missing the something....

But, likewise, if you do like something, that doesn't automatically mean it's *not* shit.
I think it's a weak song - weak melody, weak lyrics, poor structure - and doesn't add anything to the album it's on. I regard it as filler, like Sweet Lady.

Agreed. But everything is subjective. To be told something is shit is different than being told that someone thinks something is shit.
I like the song. Probably more so that it is 'new', but it ranks low in my top 100 overall.

FIA did very well worldwide, also very good chart position in USA, I wonder if the song was with climax and better ending, what it could have done.
My wish is an extended single version....

Interestingly, Face It Alone appears on the latest Now That's What I Call Music! album: nowmusic.com/*/*/NOW-That-s-What-I-Call-Music-113-2CD/7MLJ0000000Not the first track like it normally is (rather unsurprisingly in this case!) but it's nice to even be on the album. And being the last track is more memorable than Track 9 on Disc 2 or something like that! It now seems to be a regular thing for these albums to have songs that don't really produce any chart impact - simply songs on the BBC Radio 2 playlist!

Found this one today.... I must say I quite like this remix... Some reactions say it sounds more 'Queen'.

I think they did a great job, but IMHO it would have been even better if they had kept some components of the original that seem to have been removed. I think they removed John's bass and some of Brian's guitar, if not all of it. John's bass is one of the best things in the original. Cheers, Ogre-

I may have missed this, but did Brian and Roger do any additional work on this or is this song entirely put together by the engineers?

Brian is currently being interviewed on the Gold radio station in the UK. Presumably promoting the stereo book, although it hasn't been mentioned yet.
They've just been talking about FiA, during which Brian said A) they explicitly decided not to add new instrumentation B) it was "kind of the first time he sang it"
Slightly surprisingly, they've then played it. Surprising, because Gold don't play anything less than 30 years old, and they didn't play it when it came out, despite talking about it.

Brian had talked about Face It Alone in Smooth Radio, I don’t know if it’s on air yet, but he live streamed the whole interview and posted it in his instagram and YouTube.

I was listening FIA guitar demo, that was share several years ago.
I am not 100% sure, but I think that, some guitar parts sound like the ones ised in the 2022 version.
Also I think that the guitar only demo is not just a Brian improvisation but is sound like playing over the song adding guitars and ideas.
If that's the case Queen productions went very ninimal considering the guitar parts. It is very disappointed...My secret wish is for an extended single with climax and some guitar into the song.

Thanks for the heads up. Too bad I have to pay for shipping again (since I've got the boxset ordered already), but atleast it was pretty cheap shipping.

With regards to Face It Alone allegedly being worked on during the Innuendo sessions, does anyone remember where that information came from? It was a while ago now. Possibly it was discussed at the convention when they played the demo years ago? Cheers

So, how does the B-side sound? I like the idea of an instrumental but am uncertain how a Kareoke version might play out.
