Yeah I agree too about Knebworth…. Just ANOTHER Magic tour release and nothing tops Budapest for me (better performances than either Wembley night and much better recorded and mixed IMHO) Innuendo is the most logical release for the next box set surely, using the template of this current release i.e. disc of alternative versions, disc of instrumentals, promo videos FINALLY!! etc etc. The only interesting thing on a release of Knebworth is a kind of highlight DVD / BluRay in the set, that contains all the footage available from this gig. Sadly not the complete gig was filmed, but some parts and backstage footage.

In short, it doesn't matter what Greg says, as he's not in control. The only reason to interview him is to feed his sense of self-importance, nothing useful can be gleaned or inferred. agreed 100% has never actually said much of worth to any Queen fans. a prick-teaser who claims to have inner knowledge of what's being planned, when in reality [quite probably] being employed solely to do little more than leak semi-interesting morsels of misinformation.

To me The Game and The Works seem like obvious box sets. Innuendo could be too I guess. A Live Killers reissue will need to happen at some point.
I've never liked Innuendo but I'm hopeful that if they do an alternate disc that I may start liking it. There's just something about the album, maybe the sound, that I've never liked. It is a shame when most people rave about it.

The guy seems a total arrogant arse… He doesn’t even look like he wants to be doing the interview, and when he starts talking about himself, suddenly he perks up!! Strange bloke… and he comes over exactly like he did in his random posts back on QZ

The point of this is ...In 2022 anyone here believes what he says? I mean, i´m not saying he´s a liar...But in perspective, he said in the past so many things about releases, boxes, rare stuff and so...But in the end, what have you got? Re-releases, crappy stuff and sometimes one or two small new things.
I DO know that any releases depends on QPL but, after so many years spreading things that didn´t happen...He should shut up his voice in terms of "future releases"

I don't get prematurely excited anymore thanks to being let down so many times. I believe it only when the final product is in my hands.

Im with you regarding what Greg says. He doesnt have the final say in what gets released. Carrot dangling indeed.

I can’t believe I’m going to do this, but to play devil’s advocate (ever so slightly): Greg presents the band with what he thinks fans would want (in as many words) and they either yay or nay it – and when they yay it, it very well could be nay’d months, weeks, shit, even decades later. Seriously, QPL is the definition of development hell! But Greg has no control over what the band or label wants to release, and the unfortunate thing is he’s become the punching bag for every Queen fan’s frustration. I genuinely believe he wants the work he’s done over the past few decades to come to light, but QPL has a lock and key on everything, so the few dribs and drabs we get are what has been authorized to reveal. Hell, I seem to remember the 2011 CD reissues weren’t going to have any bonuses until they were persuaded to do so. (That may be my cynicism clouding the past, however.)
HOWEVER, Greg is also a massive twat, he undeniably uses his position to his advantage, hence this interview, and he has the personality and demeanor of a park bench. I have many other problems with him, some of which are simmering, petty resentments, some of which are legitimate criticisms, but in the case of Queen’s back catalog he’s not so much the one dangling the carrot as he is a puppet dangling the carrot.

Maybe throw in a Blu-Ray of Paris and whatever else is out there. Throw in a 7” vinyl single of Love of My Life and We Will Rock You fast, and a four-track EP of the bonus tracks added to Live Killers. And make it $60, while I’m dreaming.^^ Now THIS idea looks to me like it would be an ideal package. Ted They could even include some tat memorabilia, like a Bicycle Race bell (you can ring along with them when it gets to Bicycle Race in Paris where the band let the fans ring their bicycle bells) or a Get Down Make Love whistle or a dazzling tie and maracas. Heartbroken by your omission of the tiger skin trousers.

With regards his Knebworth comments, I can't say I'd be all that excited about a release. It would obviously be significant in that it was the last concert with Freddie, but it's basically the same old Magic tour again, which has already been well documented. That said, if it was part of a Live Through The Years box set, with other unreleased concerts, then I would be well up for it. Agreed. It has value, but it'd be hard to market with Wembley and Budapest having gotten so much attention over the years.
That said, to this day we still don't definitively know how much footage from the show exists. Considering how fragmentary and distant the clips in documentaries have been, if they even had five releasable songs, it'd be a miracle.

Some QI/QII songs have confirmed multitracks so we could hear something from that. Not to mention the early takes of much of side Black that were played at fan conventions many years ago. They definitely have plenty in the vaults.

Knebworth being released would just be cool because it’s Freddie’s final Queen show.

The sad thing about future releases that even Greg Brooks (Queen fan and archivist as he calls himself ) didn't understand that such products as Collector's Edition box sets and even 2 CD Deluxe Edition sets (album+sessions) are products not for housewives and other Joe Public but for fans and collectors. It's just weird. Every album reissue will sell more or less as a box set or a cheap 2/3 CD set if the work will be done properly. It doesn't matter if it's Queen I or Hot Space or A Night At The Opera. With clever project management and promotion every Queen album reissue will enter Top 20. My ROUGH Vision: CD/BR box set: 1) 1 CD REMIXED album+ b-sides /depends on the album2) 1 CD EXTRAS (officially released and unreleased alternate mixes/versions) /depends on the album3) 1 or 2 CDs SESSIONS (album tracks + b-sides + out-takes + demos) /depends on the album 4) 1 CD INSTRUMENTALS (albums + b-sides) /depends on the album5) 1 Blu-Ray with video material from the era + 5.1 / Dolby Atmos REMIX (album + b-sides) /depends on the album6) Proper Hardcover book featuring the detailed analisys of album recording sessions and photos. LP box set: 1) 1 LP REMIXED album 2) 1 LP with EXTRAS highlights (REMIXED b-sides and officially released and unreleased alternate mixes/versions) /depends on the album3) 1 LP SESSIONS highlights (album tracks + b-sides + out-takes + demos) 4) Proper Hardcover book featuring the detailed analisys of album recording sessions and photos. It's really surprising that he implied Dave Clark may have Dominion footage or recording. I have never thought of the possibility before, considering Dave Clark have done some interviews in the previous years and never said anything about it as far as I know.

If Dominion Footage or Soundboard gets released/leaked, it would be pretty great to hear/see Freddie final live perfomance ever.

Instead, they got Greg Brooks. With better project management.... hell, BETTER use of their archives, we would've had more live releases by now rather than teasing their existence. Yeah, I'll admit I'm still a little salty that they skipped over shows like Earls Court and Houston after releasing Rainbow and Hammersmith.

The Works, Innuendo, AKOM box sets maybe, as those albums include lots of titles every housewife recognises in the supermarket. I don't disagree. BUT... £150 box sets aren't available in supermarkets, and wouldn't appeal to that audience if they were. Which leads to the conclusion that these ARE hardcore-aimed releases, stacked as they are with stuff we've already bought many times..... I'd love to have a meeting with the record company's marketing department, see what they think their strategy is.

The marketing plan Greg described in that video makes absolutely no sense. You don't sell box sets to general listeners who want to see familiar titles in the track list. You sell box sets to people who go bonkers when they see titles like "Water", You Krow You Belong To Me" and "Face It Alone" or subtitles like "real drums and bass".

Let´s see....
In 2020, Elton John released a Boxset with 8 CDs and a booklet (Jewel Box), it included 3 CDs full of demos never released before (almost all documented ones I´d say) and other 2 with the B-Sides in digital format from 1976 tio date (which were not available until then)
I paid 92€...No customs, no problems...Everything went fine.
In June he released a Madman Across The Water Boxset with an impressive book, a bluray (a faulty one which was replaced in 10 days), and 3 CD ...I paid 62€
Sorry but QPL must think we´re fools or something...Asking prices like those for...almost ANYTHING...

...I paid 62€ Sorry but QPL must think we´re fools or something...Asking prices like those for...almost ANYTHING... ah but it needs to be looked at with fair comparisons. For example, look at other band's boxsets - the Beatles have differing sized releases priced from £49 - £150, then there's Pink Floyd whose boxes go from around £62 all the way up to £230. Things are priced at what collectors will pay. Queen are the second biggest selling band in the world currently, so why ever should they not be making some "hay while the sun shines"?

I am just glad they offered the 2 CD version this time.
I was tempted to buy the box set, but could not justify it, and bought the two CD version instead: - CD 1 - Obviously redundant
- CD 2 - "Must Have" for me!
- CD 3 - Already own all B sides and 12" versions
- CD 4 - Backing tracks are tempting but nonessential for me
- CD 5 - Would probably only listen to once plus I already own "Queen for an Hour"
- DVD - Would probably only watch once, plus I already own most of the song videos
- Blu-ray - Don't own a Blu-ray player and obviously redundant
- LP - No longer own a record player and obviously redundant
