I've moved this to the General Chat board as it's not specifically Miracle related and will otherwise get buried in that thread.
With regards his Knebworth comments, I can't say I'd be all that excited about a release. It would obviously be significant in that it was the last concert with Freddie, but it's basically the same old Magic tour again, which has already been well documented.
That said, if it was part of a Live Through The Years box set, with other unreleased concerts, then I would be well up for it.

Yeah I agree too about Knebworth…. Just ANOTHER Magic tour release and nothing tops Budapest for me (better performances than either Wembley night and much better recorded and mixed IMHO)
Innuendo is the most logical release for the next box set surely, using the template of this current release i.e. disc of alternative versions, disc of instrumentals, promo videos FINALLY!! etc etc.

The miracle boxset and all its different formats, peaked at number 6 in UK with sales under 10k , more specific 7,834.
I don't see new boxsets comming out in near future, record company will go for standard and secure releases.

Alternatively I could see them focusing on the more popular albums instead, cause keep in mind The Miracle isn't THAT popular. I think something like an ANATO box set would sell way better.

Maybe but the general public doesn't care about outtakes, etc. What I find intersting is with so low sales , the collectors items should have been pressed in less copies, in order to be collectable items. Now the over 50% sales is the collectors editions and rest variations.

Frankly if there isn't a Queen1/Queen II boxset next year, I'll be very surprised and very disappointed.

An ANATO box would have to be pretty special for me to splash out on it, given it's already had several reissues. I'd rather have one of the albums that's not had any special treatment yet, such as ADATR or The Works. A QI & QII box would be very welcome. I guess it depends on whether they've got enough material to justify one.

I guess it depends on whether they've got enough material to justify one. I think they'd probably have enough if they're combining QI and QII. Some QI/QII songs have confirmed multitracks so we could hear something from that. KYA and Liar both have digitized multitracks confirmed by Rock Band and the 1991 remixes (I'm assuming that was done digitally), as does Seven Seas of Rhye. Could be cool to hear some stripped mixes like they did with I'm In Love With My Car and Bring Back That Leroy Brown I'm sure there's more where that came from. There's also the TMOTBQ and FHLI stuff that was shown off at the fan club conventions. Surely there's some more hidden gems we haven't heard. If more exist, they could put Queen run-throughs of Smile songs like Polar Bear. That era has the benefit of having live material, which The Miracle doesn't. We already know that Brian was considering releasing Imperial College 1970 last year, a QI/QII boxset would be perfect for that. If a studio run-through of Hangman doesn't exist, then a soundboard recording of the song would still be a huge deal too. A definitive blu-ray of the early music videos and TOTP appearances would be a wonderful treat too. Alternate angles exist for Liar, so it'd be cool to have something like the DOOL Somebody To Love video.
Though unrealistic, my dream would be for a complete top-to-bottom re-mixing of the first two albums. The 2011 remaster was based off of the original mixes, which is faithful and how it should be, but the original mixes don't hold up very well, so it'd be nice to polish them up and bring them to the standard of later Queen albums. Just no pitch correction.

Just no pitch correction. I think it would be a question of balancing effort required over potential sales. As GB said, most people would know The Miracle album from the multitude of singles (although, I can't see it appearing on the shelves as Tesco's, as he suggested) - they won't know QI & QII in the same way, so those two would largely need to be aimed at the more ardent collectors. Innuendo, again, had more singles and we know of at least half a dozen demos that haven't officially surfaced yet. I'd be happy with those and a sessions CD akin to The Miracle for an Innuendo box.

Would Queen just forget about sales and just say “hey let’s put something out for the die hard fans” or am I getting to ahead of myself.

Frankly if there isn't a Queen1/Queen II boxset next year, I'll be very surprised and very disappointed. A song by Brian called Eyes of the White Queen and a song by John (that may be a weird acronym but is too convoluted for me to remember) appeared on Songview on BMI’s repertoire site. Given the first title I think the Q/Q2 package is a strong likelihood for next year.

I'm pretty sure we know what the archival team is working on right now, that being the 3 volume book series, which is set to release next year and I think go into the year after that? Greg said that they haven't even begun to discuss what comes up next in terms of boxsets, so I wouldn't hold your breathe on anything next year.

It was five years between the NOTW box and The Miracle. At this rate, I won't live long enough to complete the collection.

Regarding a Queen/Queen II box set, it would be interesting to see what both the packaging and bonus material would be, given that it would be a combined (2 albums in 1) release, and that some extras from the early years have previously been officially released, i.e. the De Lane Lea demos, See What a Fool I've Been.

Greg was also at the French convention today (We Lille Rock You) and someone on FB said he mentioned possibility of a Live Killers boxset (with video). Not sure if it's verifiable(?) unless somebody here went to the convention and can confirm!

Id prefer 5.1 DTS mixes of every album. Now that would be nice :-) It makes a makes a massive difference listening to the music and being able to hear those little things u can't when they are stereo mixed. Probably likely to not be around before that happens.

Live Killers has been overlooked for too long. How many years ago did he mention the possibility of a Miracle box? Little Feat just re-released their Waiting for Columbus live album as a super deluxe box set, with the remastered original and three full shows from the tour (though I would’ve preferred all of them, like how the Grateful Dead do it), one of which was never intended for the live album itself, and a limited edition replica of a Japanese single released from the album. I think Queen could do something similar: Live Killers original (add If You Can’t Beat Them, Somebody to Love, It’s Late, and Fat Bottomed Girls as bonus tracks, but put them in relation to the original setlist, not tacked on at the end of disc 2), two further shows (I didn’t realize how many multitracks there are from this tour, there are a LOT!), and a combination of the three nights in Paris. Maybe throw in a Blu-Ray of Paris and whatever else is out there. Throw in a 7” vinyl single of Love of My Life and We Will Rock You fast, and a four-track EP of the bonus tracks added to Live Killers. And make it $60, while I’m dreaming.

I happened across a recording of Greg's 2008 convention appearance the other day.
He talked about the BBC sessions probably coming out the following year, and how they'd found some amazing visual material that could be part of it.
He also said that the memorabilia book had been delayed.
In short, it doesn't matter what Greg says, as he's not in control. The only reason to interview him is to feed his sense of self-importance, nothing useful can be gleaned or inferred.

What Greg said when discussing about the possibility of QI/QII box set really summarises the company's conception of "the ideal product" they want so sell and to whom they are selling their product. Frankly, it was appalling to hear this straight from the horse's mouth, though we've all known it for years. They just want to re-re-re-re-re-sell the hits for the general public, and don't care about the die-hard fans at all.
I woudn't hold my breath for Q/QII box set. It's not gonna happen. Hell, we'll probably never get ADATR box either as it only contains one big hit. The Works, Innuendo, AKOM box sets maybe, as those albums include lots of titles every housewife recognises in the supermarket. God, that expression of their target audience is gonna be stuck in my head for years!!!
