Any info on The Miracle Box Set

Whaaat you're all mad I tell you.

"The Works" is ultra-classy.
"A Kind of Magic" is fun and vibrant.
"Hot Space" is.. OK. Does a job in distinguishing the content from previous Queen LPs.
"The Game" is a little unremarkable but embodies the feel of the LP very well, stripped back and cool (and I love the original "mirror" cover).

On topic "The Miracle" is probably the most dated cover, much like any CGI it seems amazing at the time then quickly starts to look hokey. (See also MJ's "Black and White" video, etc.)


You are jesting right? (Is that what XD means..?) Then again, an "Alternative Miracle cover" challenge could be fun..

@moderators Where would I post more imaginary releases? Is there a general place for fan made stuff?

I was listening to the latest Queen Pod show and Simon Lupton mentioned that there is talk about finally releasing The Miracle box set in 2022. Nothing official, but he wanted to let fans know. At the very least it's not forgotten by production. So that's something.

...or wait until 2027 to complete the "30 years since Queen" boxset.

Call me cynical but I don’t see it happening.

Pretty sure QPL employees only mark their calendar with "Greatest Hits I" anniversaries.

It would be amazing, but I doubt it will happen now.

It's weird that they didn't cover this album on their Queen The Greatest youtube serie. I will be sceptical until i hold it in my hands. I mean, Queen releases and dissapointment goes hand in hand but this piece of paper looks promising indeed.

If by some miracle, this Miracle box set miraculously appears, going by Brian's recent output, it's not going to contain anything we haven't already got. They've got all the 12" mixes and enough other stuff from the CD singles to make a 'special edition' out of. There might be some other promotional tat included, and a DVD (not Blu-ray) of the videos, but I'd almost put money on there being no unreleased material. The tragedy is, we'll still bloody buy it!

When it comes to The Miracle, there's a LOT of unheard stuff that QPL could work with- they made tons of demos, a few of which have been heard.
I think that this is the main reason that Queen went with The Miracle as the next album to have a box set release rather than a more popular album, so I'm cautiously optimistic of us getting some interesting goodies.

What does worry me though, is the possibility of Queen coating the unheard material in layers of pitch correction. That happened with the News of The World boxset, so I'm just hoping that it doesn't here. Probably will though.
