I managed to read it(behind a paywall for me) and also thought that quote about her age unusual..typo maybe? I think she meant that she’s not getting younger.

It just doesn't work when written down, that's all. A previous generation of journo would have paraphrased to "I'm not getting any younger"

"It’s such a warm house, a family house, really." She has not yet decided whether to sell or keep it. think that maybe that can be read two ways - the second of which being a sales pitch. "ideal property for family"

"ideal property for family" I actually found the plans for the 1981 extension, and from there some 1975 planning application - it was called a family home across those two applications as well. There appears to have been an application to erect a conservatory in 1986 tht was granted, but then wasn't actioned.

Might be a silly question does anyone know why the Zandra iconic cape outfit isn't in the list unless I missed it. Apologies if I did. Does Queen have that or where did it go? I noticed a few things missing actually.

I noticed a few things missing actually. Pretty much everything missing is in possession of QPL. The stuff not shown at the auction were shown in different Exhibitions, like The Studio Experience. This site has some good pictures of what QPL has. www.ultimatequeen.co.uk/queen/miscellaneous/the-studio-experience.htmThe biggest exception though, is Freddie's iconic black and white checkerboard leotard. That was sold in auction many many years ago, and Queen only has a replica in their possession now.

I had seen for ex some outfits like Prawn It's A Hard Life outfit in Montreux but then it was also featured in the auction so I didn't know if that was a replica or what not.

There are some EMI Queen CDs on the upper shelf, and at least three Japanese CDs. One is the soundtrack to Vision Quest, and another is the album Groovin' by Toshinobu Kubota, with another of his CD albums below. Hi There, talking about other artists music in Freddie's collection (interesting topic IMO): my.matterport.com/show/?m=zy9XT5sUK5b&sr=.13,.89&ss=158 I think all is stored on the three shelfs above the guitar where I recognize a cuople of records: How good is this walkthrough. Amazing. Wish I could see it in real life but this is the next best thing.

So, am I missing something? I thought it was supposed to be Freddie's stuff in the auction, not just stuff that happened to be in the house 30 years after his death.

Most of the 1991 auction purchases probably didn't get delivered until at least December...

I thought it was supposed to be Freddie's stuff in the auction, not just stuff that happened to be in the house 30 years after his death. Some of the items being auctioned are indeed not Freddie's possessions, strictly speaking. For example the statuette of Lot 286, which is a 1995 (?) miniature of the Montreux statue. The vast majority of the items seems to be pre-1991, though.

Most of the 1991 auction purchases probably didn't get delivered until at least December... At least he made the decision to purchase them. It doesn't bother me as such, as I won't be bidding on anything. It just seems a bit naughty if items are in the auction which didn't actually belong to Freddie in his lifetime.

I agree with you LF it should be at least Freddie`s items. Another example is Sir Bri`s Queen in 3D book released 2017 lot no 2342. Bids stand at £400 plus buyers fee = £500+. If you look around this is selling for £100-200. Nice mark-up just for a short stay in Garden Lodge. Think I will take my copy down to Garden Lodge and touch the back door with it and treble its value.🤑

I’m happy Mary is selling everything (including Queen-related items acquired/produced after his death) all in one go and didn’t sell or give things away through the years. Seeing everything together like this is a fascinating look at the man. It’s actually made me slightly wistful and think about my own mortality (and all the junk I’ve amassed through the years). But enough of that talk! I just hope that Mary (or QPL) allowed (or hired) someone to photograph every single page of every single notebook/journal/British Midland Airways stationery/scrap of paper/napkin to document the evolution of these songs. And that a book will be published soon (sooner than I Want It All is released, fingers crossed). I do find it interesting that Jim Beach copied Mary (and John LIsbon - anyone know who he is?) with the bar bill for Freddie’s birthday party in 1985. Lot 605. www.sothebys.com/buy/8ee89ecc-696c-448e-995c-882966ceb65c/lots/ba66b84e-f568-4c7a-a814-634c2d2c0421

I found a link that says John Libson was (is?) an accountant for Queen: http://queen_people.tripod.com/j.html Cheers, Ogre-

Jim Beach and John Libson were both trustees of Freddie's Will and Testament, one being lawyer another being accountant. I think John Libson was deceased, not 100% sure.

From the Queen-lot: Queen, A Night At The Odeon. How on earth did that get into Freddie's record collection? Mistake, later addition by Mary, unknown 1975/76 test pressing? Also, interesting to see multiple Neil Young records in his collection. I would not have expected those.

this Roger Taylor, The Outsider Tour Live a Lazarus moment? Freddie returned to attend a gig and liked it so much he bought the album? I do seem to recall seeing a "fan" at the Nottingham gig that looked strangely Freddie-esque
