it's not about "how it sits with me". the question is really about how "great" sits with you. when talking about the Queen catalogue Cool Cat is Queen's Audly Harrison with Bo Rhap being their Muhammad Ali Not picking on you specifically, but this is a good example. You're basically arguing about subjective and objective. Gooddrills has been humble and appreciates that it's his opinion, but the need to push an agenda because his opinion is considered wrong always happens here. That isn't good for discussion. Happy memories of certain 'bad' Queen songs, the good feelings they give to a person for whatever reason, can only be damaged by someone saying it's wrong to feel that way and can drive them away. It undermines the work that is being done here to make this place welcoming and fun. This is exactly why I stay away.

Here it is, for anyone that wants to hear it! -Chin A waste of space. They could have included a version with Bowie's vocals. it would have paid off more, or they could add a demo version of the song. But no, let’s add on the instrumental version and the shop doors will be torn down and they’ll ask for more.

God forgive me for what I have done. I paid 21.99 for this ugly piece of s***. Not from an actual store I hope? It's only £12.99 and that's nowhere near either $22 or 22 euros (no idea where you live Pim) I wish I didn't but it from a store, but I did. I also paid 32,99 for the Kate Bush 10".

It shows they are open minded to issuing instrumentals beyond the Miracle boxset and they weren't going to release something 'new' in such small quantities on a one day event.

Part of me doesn't want to know this, but please say it's called the 'Hot Spacumental' version on the label.

I have a question for anyone that's purchased the single, especially in the USA. Is the sleeve standard world-wide. Or does the USA one list Hollywood Records specifically and not EMI? I ask because I have a complete collection of Queen's UK 7" singles and, since I want to add this to the collection, if the sleeves are different, I'd like to get the UK/European sleeve. Thanks.

I really don’t want to get back into any of the unhealthy discussions that we had on Queenzone. We all just like what we like, none of us are right or wrong. I’m not adverse to a bit of piss taking and I’m not overly sensitive, but I don’t want to feel drawn into arguments just to defend an opinion. Life’s too short 😊

I’m not in the US but Discogs shows only one listing and it’s country of issue as worldwide. The credits on the sleeve say “Under exclusive licence to Universal Music International” and “Made in Germany” There’s also a Made in Germany sticker on the shrink.

Without Freddie's vocals its boring AF.
I really wish QPL / FM estate would give us something more interesting then album tracks minus Freddie's vocals. So many in existence across The eYe, FM Boxed set, The Miracle, AKOM, Singles Boxed Sets... the list goes on. So so lazy.

Why not include acapella versions in stead?! Aside from the fear QP would have that it opens up the floodgates for questionable remixes, (which are done anyways with the current AI vocal isolations) I would really love to hear Freddie vocals over an instrumental. I would even argue theres enough room on a 7'' to include both the instrumental and the acapella on the b-side.

Queen were never really a B-sides band - they had, what, five or six original B-sides across their entire 15-album run? - so I guess it’s no surprise there wasn’t anything vaguely interesting on the flip side.

Say what you like about the song but this made me appreciate its grooviness a little bit more. somehow, i think most of my chosen adjectives would be banned A waste of space. They could have included a version with Bowie's vocals. well they couldn't really - could they. not unless they find some contrary fool with power of attorney of Bowie's estate, who's prepared to go expressly against Bowie's wishes?

Just look at the Miracle. Those Brian tracks would have been great as Innuendo B sides or look at Feelings Feelings and maybe even Silver Salmon. They could have replaced Sheet Heart Attack as a B Side to two singles on NOTW releases.

RE Not a B-sides band. If you remove double A sides, the first EP, and even the lead singles off albums (which at the time the B-sides would've counted as a new song to the buyer), there's only about 6 or 7 singles in the 70s that just had a previously heard song on the B-side. Don't forget back then, the B-side was important as they would be heard on jukeboxes and could be considered further promotion for the parent album. All that changed briefly later, and had the opposite effect. As a lad saving up my pennies, I was annoyed that Hijack My Heart and Hang On In There WEREN'T on The Miracle It would've been great if out takes like Silver Salmon, Feelings Feelings had been used, but if they didn't pass muster for the album... Chances are they were reasons for not using them at the time. Perhaps they were just forgotten about a years later when the 3rd single was lifted off the album and the band was on tour in another country. Perhaps they were held onto for the next album. We know they worked on out takes for later albums. I think Queen's re-use of album cuts on the flipsides was pretty standard compared to contemporary acts, say Bowie. Actually he's probably worse considering some of his A-side in the same time window were 2 years old album tracks (Life On Mars, Rock N Roll Suicide, even the 1975 number one hit Space Oddity). He did have a few album out takes dotted around various single flips, but also added in tracks from previous albums. I'm sure with both acts, it's all down to the record company's selection panel. So on the surface, certainly not a B-Sides band, but also I don't think Queen were short changing fans.

So I bought this for Record Store Day. Why I ask myself, not because of the song which honestly I don't mind too much, but I paid $67.00 Australian for it. $67.00 f***en dollars! Record Store Day is a great idea but a ripoff, and $67.00 for a 7" single is stupidly ridiculous.

It's great and I love the promotion for record stores but a lot of stores get stuck with stock they buy in for it. Most record stores I go into have a box with last years RSD leftover items in it. The place I bought Cool Cat online from (you can buy online after the actual day) still had 8 copies available which is what they started with. Only idiots like me pay prices like that and I hate it.

I think they might just have used their own Yes. But that was the old one ;-) Improvements have been made to all the Queen stuff across the board courtesy of new filters. They definitely made their own - you can tell because it's more muffled/dull than mine
