I might be the only one here on the forum, but in all honesty I hope they won't also do a European leg of the tour. Brian and Roger are my musical heroes for 40+ years, but imho their stage performance gets a little pathetic, How many times have you seen QAL live? Just looking for some context. I've been to concerts of: QAL 3 times QPR 5 times Queen with Freddie 7 times So, here you've got your context.

If you're not into Q+AL, then keep your money or spend it on something else, but don't slag them off for keeping on doing what they love. There was certainly nothing embarrassing or 'pathetic' about the performance when I saw them, and I'm sure they would bow out gracefully when they feel they're not up to the job any more. I didn't slag them off, I was just giving my personal opinion and gave arguments for it. If you still like them live, good for you (no sarcasm), but please respect someone else's opinion.

Brian and Roger are my musical heroes for 40+ years, but imho their stage performance gets a little pathetic, especially when Roger is behind his drum kit. Some songs he can't keep up anymore. Don't get me wrong, at age of 74 there's nothing to be ashamed about (I hope I will be as fit as Roger at that age), but as a professional musician doing that kind of big shows and tours, he's really getting too old. I prefer seeing him behind the microphone stand and singing, like on his recent solo tour. As for Brian, he looks fitter to me, but nevertheless it doesn't do if for me anymore. And to be honest: I've never liked Adam Lambert (though I have to admit he has a very good and strong voice). For me Queen ended in 1991 when Freddie died. But let's not go down that road again, as we don't want any of those useless queenzone discussions over here.;-) If you're not into Q+AL, then keep your money or spend it on something else, but don't slag them off for keeping on doing what they love. I'm sorry if you thought I was disrespecting your opinion, but calling someone 'pathetic' because you perceive he may not have the physical stamina that he did 30 or 40 years ago isn't particularly respectful either, in my opinion. You clearly have no interest in Q+AL, and have started that you have 'never liked' Adam Lambert. You are of course entitled to your opinion but if this is the case, I would question why you took the trouble to post in a thread discussing the upcoming tour, the news of which has largely been positively received. 🙂

Please note: Before replying, I'm posting this as Staff attempting to prevent a flow of counter arguments from other members. Your posts in this thread appear completely contradictory. "Queen ended when Freddie died" is not an argument - it's the usual QZone-type baiting that you insist no-one else engages in. It's almost impossible to "respect" such a completely contradictory argument. If "Queen ended when Freddie died" then why go see Queen+ 8 times? Attending 8x concerts of a band you declare to be dead is the worst piece of supporting evidence you could possibly provide for your argument. I can understand attending once for each incarnation, but multiple times? what's that about? reaffirming your own negative opinion? - muddled though it most definitely is.

I'm still expecting an announcement about Australia and NZ shows to arrive soon. No inside information but there's a lack of big shows here around the time the Japan tour ends so it would be easy to fit them in.

In all honesty, if you think it's amusing resuscitating long-dead arguments from a long-dead forum - just for kicks, then that isn't really what this place is about.

In all honesty, if you think it's amusing resuscitating long-dead arguments from a long-dead forum - just for kicks, then that isn't really what this place is about. 1) If you had read my original comment better, you would've known that maintaining peace wasn't necessary at all. 2) If you're running a forum you should expect and respect other opinions than you might have. 3) Wanting to silence someone is not the same as maintaining peace. I like this forum a lot for its information and scala of different opinions and views and I understand that we don't want the nature and culture of another queenzone. However, I don't like what you're doing now as there's absolutely no need for it. Just my point of view.

Reading comprehension isn't your strong point, is it? OK, I think we've reached a point where we need to part ways. Within nine posts you have already created negative attention from two members of forum staff, and have failed to respond to two PMs in relation to your forum account. A number of your comments could easily be construed as deliberately inflammatory, and one was unnecessarily insulting to a band member. With the above quoted post, you have also demonstrated that you appear to have no respect for forum staff, who are all volunteers and administer this community freely for members. With that, your account is disabled and we bid you farewell.

I plan to go to Osaka and Tokyo to see the show.
To be honest, I thought Brian and Roger would retire after last year's European tour. I also thought that if there had been no pandemic, they would have been able to hold another world tour.
Even when the North American tour was announced for this fall, I never thought they would come to Japan again. I really appreciate them.

I am honored, I don't speak English so I will be studying hard ☺️
Please take strict winter protection for Sapporo in winter. It won't hurt to wear too much outerwear and look like a sphere.

I wasn't sure if this news deserved its own thread (although it's big news for Queen fans in Japan), so I'll just add it to this thread:
Queen + Adam Lambert will appear on this year's Kouhaku, the annual televised concert that has been airing on December 31st in Japan for the last few decades. Three years ago, Brian and Roger made a pre-recorded video performance with Yoshiki and others for this same event.
There are no details yet about exactly how they will "appear" at this live show. Acts typically perform one song or a medley of their hits.

As far as I can tell, they still haven't announced exactly how they will appear. In a press release accompanying the Kizuna track listing, Brian said that they will "rock on the Kouhaku stage with everyone." But in the same release, both Brian and Roger talk about meeting everyone in February for their tour. The show is broadcast on NHK in Japan on December 31st from 7:20 pm to 11:45 pm, and they're the 9th act of the second half of the show. Promotional image here:

Here's Queen+AL's performance of Don't Stop Me Now at Kouhaku 2023, from the broadcaster NHK. It's a pre-recorded performance in San Francisco with no audience. Embedding of the video is not possible so here's a link: www.youtube.com/watch?v=pMpHfH5TW24

It's a pre-recorded performance in San Francisco with no audience. I might have missed it but where was this confirmed? Their screen setup was of the Rhapsody Tour instead of their recent Works-ish "Back to Humans" theme and their outfits were of the UK/Europe tour in 2022. Edit: I was just now shown images of the US setup so I guess it was US! But I haven't read anywhere saying San Francisco.

There was a brief clip of them talking about how Japan was the first country to understand Queen etc., and at the beginning they had "San Francisco, USA" in the top right section of the screen (アメリカ・サンフランシスコ). Another note... for the "like an atom bomb" line, Adam gestures at himself, and the Japanese subtitles say "Adam" (アダム) bomb.

I didn't think it was possible that more people would buy tickets for the Japan tour because of his appearance in Kohaku, and I hesitated to tap Adam's name that trended on X (Twitter) after the broadcast, thinking that all the posts would be comparing him to Freddie again....
However, I was more than happy to see the outpouring of praise and recognition for Adam. I observed a number of posts that said, "Adam Lambert's voice was so good that I bought tickets for his Japan tour without even thinking about it.

A notice to anyone going to Sapporo that there is now an opening act at 17:30 so QAL starts at 19:00.
Unfortunately do to some circumstances I won't be able to make it to Japan anymore 😭. I resold my Nagoya ticket and trying to resell my Osaka one. Everyone else going there take care and have fun ❤️

Interesting, I didnt know Glay was still active but I've been out of the Japanese music scene for a few years. If they're going to have an opener it's not a bad choice.

Is anyone needing a ticket for the Nagoya show? I have one available due to last minute trip planning changes that won’t give me time to make it there accordingly. Seat is in the SS section.
