Apart from the very unnecessary reuse of Rainbow tracks (still featuring that dumb guitar solo and drum solo separation for SAD and KYA to pad the track numbers) I'm positively surprised and looking very forward to this one

already making a draft for the new thread!
They're taking the piss with the live disc and BBC Sesisons disc. Keep 'em and knock £50 off the price. Unsurprisingly no surround mix. Every 5th rate artist in the world is getting dolby atmos mixes of their shitty album re-issues these days, but no, not Queen. They can't be arsed. Had the multitracks out to do a new remix but a surround mix was too much like hard work. They can keep their remastered De Lea Lane as well. I'd rather have another disc of sessions we haven't heard. At the very least, ALL the De Lane Lea recordings should have been on Disc Two, leaving room on Disc 3 for more UNHEARD stuff. The only saving grace is the lask of 2011 remaster and "Mad" being exclusive to the record. And they want £200+ for it, F off.

Okay, I am glad that my source was right this time :-D Kind of satisfaction :-D Nevrthelless, I am quite happy with the content, it can be always better but since On Air is not available anymore, I welcome BBC tracks, because I only have those on separate releases from 2011.

Pleasantly surprised by the contents, a lot more "new" stuff than I expected.
I just hope it'll be just the 2-CD and the boxset. Not a whole bunch of other releases, though I expect a QOL exclusive picture disc etc etc.

This is where the discontent begins. As someone wrote earlier that after the announcement and release there will be dissatisfied people, he turned out to be right. I'd be very surprised if Mad the Swine was released on an album in the same form we've been hearing it in since 1991, I think. Judging by the fact that a live version of Hangman was released, it means that there is no studio version of this song, which is very, very strange.

Beyond excited!!! C'mon guys, this is the kind of stuff we've been begging them to do for years. Let's just enjoy and appreciate it for once! Each boxset so far has gotten better and better. Was expecting this album to have to share the spotlight with Queen II for marketing reasons. This is almost best case scenario for us mega fans! Complainers, no way you can say with a straight face that you'd have been happier if this box set didn't exist 😉 We'll all be waiting with baited breath on October 25th either on streaming platforms, or at our doorsteps waiting for the mail to come 😄 This new remix has the potential to knock our socks off compared to what we currently have. If so, I guess we better make the most of the original mixes while we can: queenchat.boards.net/thread/5310/queen-2024-restoration

And so everyone has different wishes 😃

Apart from the very unnecessary reuse of Rainbow tracks (still featuring that dumb guitar solo and drum solo separation for SAD and KYA to pad the track numbers) I'm positively surprised and looking very forward to this one I always thought they separated the solos because that means more royalties for Brian and Roger, the duo who runs things these days. Separating songs means more songs that they "wrote", hence more writing royalties.

Complainers, no way you can say with a straight face that you'd have been happier if this box set didn't exist 😉 Looking at it, there’s two-and-a-third discs of actual worthwhile new content in this. That equates to nearly 90 quid a disc. Whichever way you cut it, that’s a piss-take. Other bands are releasing equally good or even better archival box sets for less than the price of one of those discs. If the price ever came down to something reasonable I’d snap this up, but I’m not gonna bend over and take it up the backside from them. If (and I’m aware this is a totally baseless “if”) they did a box like this for every studio album and charged these prices, you’d have to spend over three grand to get them all! Anyone acting like people are somehow wrong to be insulted by this frankly just seems like a bit of a douche. Or maybe they just have so much spare cash lying around it’s merely a drop in the bucket to them.

I'm looking forward to two things, the outtakes discs and the two 1970 live tracks. I don't care for the rest and the De Lane Lea disc is a joke.

I’m just not prepared to get fleeced for it. I haven’t looked, but it’ll be interesting to see how much the two-disc version goes for, if only to work out how much more you’re paying for the four truly worthwhile live tracks in the box.
