So when is the bloody announcement, and why have Amazon listed it before it's even in the Queen Online Store?

So when is the bloody announcement, and why have Amazon listed it before it's even in the Queen Online Store? By no means the first time that’s happened. I’ve seen stuff listed on Amazon weeks before any official announcement.

Just weird to read all these complaints about the price. It doesn't matter how it costs. It's important that it will be finally released. If you are a clever buyer, you'll find an opprtunity to buy it half of the price on amazon or somewhere else. If you are not that wealthy person or don't want to buy a box set at all, buy a 2CD set and enjoy it (and all the other stuff in digital form). If you don't want to buy physical product at all, you can choose the digital format and be happy. Why to complain everytime about the price of the box set... It's just stupid.
I complain about absence of Polar Bear and Blu-ray with Dolby Atmos and Videos. But I'm glad about the Remix of the album, finally remix of De Lane Lea tracks, Instrumentals and the most welcomed Sessions Tracks. That's all I can say.

Looking at it, there’s two-and-a-third discs of actual worthwhile new content in this. That equates to nearly 90 quid a disc. Whichever way you cut it, that’s a piss-take. Other bands are releasing equally good or even better archival box sets for less than the price of one of those discs. If the price ever came down to something reasonable I’d snap this up, but I’m not gonna bend over and take it up the backside from them. If (and I’m aware this is a totally baseless “if”) they did a box like this for every studio album and charged these prices, you’d have to spend over three grand to get them all! Anyone acting like people are somehow wrong to be insulted by this frankly just seems like a bit of a douche. Or maybe they just have so much spare cash lying around it’s merely a drop in the bucket to them. I'm hanging out to see if all the audio content makes it onto streaming services like the last box set was. Can't remember from the top of my head (it's been 2 years since the last one 😅), but certain platforms still allow us to purchase the digital files. Don't get me wrong, if I can get my hands on these digitally for a fraction of the price, it's a no brainer for me...

On the press release, they talk about Hangman, and this is what it says: “Hangman”, a Free-inspired Mercury/May/Taylor/Deacon composition which was a mainstay of Queen’s early live shows, but was never recorded in the studio. This performance of “Hangman” comes from a show at the San Diego Sports Arena on the last night of the band’s US tour in March 1976.
Also, it seems than a Atmos mix will be available on digital

Initial thoughts...
The album: Mad The Swine finally put to it's rightful place. This was expected, as the same trick was already used on The Miracle box, but still nice to have it.
Sessions disc was expected and looks promising. However, as people have noted, no Polar Bear, and no Hangman. In the case of Hangman, I think this means that there is no studio version. It would be odd to include a live version but not the studio version. The exclusion of Polar Bear in disturbing. We know a studio versio exists, and this was the best opportunity to release it. Shelved forever? What made The Miracle box so great was the inclusion of those songs/ideas of songs that never made it to the album. And this time we don't get them. Which brings me to me last point of interest. The inclusion of SWAFIB. I'm glad it was included, but I always associate that track with II rather than the debut album. It's strange to have it here, but I'll take it.
I have mixed feelings for the live disc. I really hate the Rainbow tracks being reused here, as we already have the whole gig. But those extra songs from '70 & '76 look really interestring. I never knew Jesus was even played live. I hope the quality is good on these old gems. And the '76 tracks.. Hangman, finally! If the studio version does not exist, this is the best we can get. Doing All Right is also a great addition. No live version has ever been officially released, so it was about the time we get one. And the inclusion of these '76 tracks also makes me wonder, if the whole San Diego gig will be available at some point in the future. WE really need a live album from that NATO/DATR era.
BBC disc: We already have the BBC box, so this is unnecessary. Also, we have the demo of SWAFIB on this box, but not the BBC version. You can ignore my reasoning about the studio version of Hangman not existing. I'll never understand how they choose songs/versions to be included/excluded on these things.
The last notion: No DVD/BlueRay. That's a big dissapointment. I was expecting a new documentary, or at least some old footage material to be included.

Indeed, and I'm intrigued to hear the segue between GKR, MTS and MFK. Will the drums not fade on GKR? Have they restored the missing "I've" on MTS? I'll also be interested to see if there's any incentives for ordering from the QOL Store.

What about if/when the exclusive box set contents isn’t released digitally, as was the case with the News of the World set? Can't afford the box? Stream it. Not available on streaming? Get the 2-Disc Deluxe version. Problem solved 🙂 However, I'm fairly confident it'll be accessible digitally either partially or in full, based on The Miracle...

I almost forgot that John Deacon wasn't in the band in 1970. We will finally hear Barry Mitchell on bass after 54 years!

This is not a rumor anymore! What the hell?

I looked at the track list on Amazon and as with the NOTW box set (which I don't have) it appears that the Sessions disc is the most enticing thing on offer. I already have much of the material on offer in this release - hence why I didn't buy the 'News' box - but I understand that quite a few of the tracks have been remixed. So I'll have to give it some thought, as I have at least some issues with the potential price.

My very first thoughts:
The high points: - De Lane Lea remixes - Second disc (specially SWAFIB) - Mad The Swine - Two 1970 live tracks (they already pay the price for the box set!) - Two 1976 live tracks (finally Hangman in SBD quality!)
The low points: - No 'Polar Bear' (in pristine quality) - No 'Hangman' (studio reharsal / acetate) - No 'Silver Salmon' - No 'The Night Comes Down' live from Marquee 1972 - No 'Mad The Swine' live from US Tour 1974 - No full 1970 show (this is my own personal lowest disappointment) - No KYA 1975 (if 1974/1976 live tracks are included, KYA 1975 should have been too) - Rainbow (I'd wish they used those live tracks from a previously uncirculated date)
Overall, I am pretty excited about this!!

I first saw the news on the r/queen subreddit, safe to say my heart skipped a beat when i saw the live disc. (Not counting the rainbow tracks)
