Watched the first episode and that was all. Only watched a couple of episodes from the first series.

we're now 10/12ths through this milestone year and nothing, zilch, nada, zip - even the most ardent rumour-mongers have all but given up the ghost.
Note: when even the [so-called] Archivist has ceased bothering with his prick-teasing comments, then we should accept that the jig is well and truly up.

I have to commend the blind optimism of some fans, but really??? I'm surprised that (this late in the day) some are still hoping that something may yet materialise.

in the beginning, it was all a game - predicting which predictably bleeding obvious clips would appear on the Queen 50th YT, and conjecture over 50th boxset tracklistings etc - all good clean fun. But it's also self-inflicted misery akin to Chinese Water Torture where 303 of 365 ice-cold drops have now hit our collective foreheads - albeit this year's torture model has a definite end. surely any sane folk will have cracked a long time ago? Surely QPL have achieved what they set out to do, have people talking and keeping the band in the public consciousness?

I can't begin to understand how the younger (post 91) fans feel. I was lucky enough to see the band live (5 times) in their heyday - so I have memories of gigs and memories of new releases coming out and the anticipation of each. I really feel for those who grew up after Knebworth 86, and i understand how you grasp and clutch at the Q+AL gigs/events (in the way i did between 74-91) - because that's as close as anyone will get these days.

Queen have now had 3x 50th anniversaries - there were two for the origins of the band 70 & 71 and now the debut LP. Next year there will be 2 more 50ths, another the year after, etc etc. Are we going to continue in this forlorn pursuit until Innuendo is 50? I'll be almost 80 then, so QPL can go fuck themselves sideways with their own metaphorical boxsets.

I'd bet you all £1 to 1d, that in 2031, the Archivist will be "leaking" titbits of info about a forthcoming "special issue" - that turns out to be nothing more than a Platinum-Coloured vinyl re-issue of Greatest Hits.

Face it folks, it's pretty certain now that nothing "50th" is coming - or ever was.
bottom line: if QPL can't be bothered, then why should we?

You were actually dead on. AKOM was released in March, FWBF in June. Just thought I'd make a clever wordplay, should've known it would fall flat.  

The first episode of the first series (50th Anniversary) had A LOT of new photos. And soon after there was a Finland 1974 episode, which was also interesting.
