What's to speact to next year (50th anniversary). I really hope a Hyde Park on SD Blu ray, or Brussels '84 (if QP they have the entire show on film). What do you think about it?

It'll be the 30th anniversary of Freddie's death in the November, and that's usually the time of year they release stuff. I guess we can hope, but not another Freddie solo compilation, please!

How much unreleased material, realistically, can we possibly get? I know they're kind of drip-feeding us but a girl can dream...

I'm gonna guess they're gonna name their 2021 tour the Golden Jubilee Tour. I'm not gonna expect much from QPL, but I got a good feeling we'll be seeing some good releases in terms of unofficial recordings and stuff. I hope I'm right on the latter.

I know this is controversial but Queen still haven't realised a career spanning compilation. Well not one down to 2-4 discs, many bands have done that now. Many hit songs are missed out on the Greatest Hits albums such as Tie Your Mother Down, Spread Your Wings, Body Langauge, Scandal and A Winter's Tale among others. I think realising an album with tracks from every album would be rather fitting for the 50th anniversary, I've got my ideas with how I would do it!

Since the last compilation of their „greater“ hits was released 2014, I don‘t think they would do another one so soon. Although I really like the idea!

Well, they did release the 3 Deep Cuts albums... But it's a hassle to buy four different products (The Platinum Collection and the three Deep Cuts albums) whereas having a new album would have ALL the key stuff on four discs. It would be retrospective of their entire career.

Maybe the Platinum Collection and Deep Cuts on vinyl? That's another useless idea for QueenProductions.
I actually like the idea of the deep cuts series but there is no need to have every compilation on vinyl too!
QueenProductions should look what Apple is doing with the Beatles stuff. The deluxe editions of Pepper, White Album and Abbey Road have been pretty good apart from not including footage of the recording or making a documentary to each album. But still, there was at least new material being released, unlike Queen Productions with Queen demos or other concerts from the 70s.

Don't forget they did Queen Forever as well, which wasn't just Greatest Hits.
I would like something more than just another rehash for the 50th Anniversary, but knowing QPL, that's all we will get.
More interesting might be the 50th Anniversary of the first album, in 2023. Hopefully they might have some really early live material which could be dusted off and polished for release.

Nothing, so you won't get disappointed. Queen are the worst marketing-wise when it comes to releasing material.

Well, let’s be honest. After November 24th 1991 the releases strarted to be just extra, special versions of already recorded stuff. Then they had some good releases, solo or the remains of the band, like Made In Heaven and Too Much Love Will Kill You single by Bri. After 1997 John left, and THAT’S where good releases started to get worse and worse. Greetings, Holland

All we can do is speculate. They've had a few surprises up their belt the last couple of years. Let's have a look at the last 10 years alone: 2010 - The Singles Collections 2011 - Remasters+Deep Cuts+40 Years of Queen+new docu 2012 - The Great Pretender docu
2012 - Hungarian Rhapsody 2012 - Queen + Adam Lambert tours 2013 - Icon 2014 - Queen Forever/Let Me In Your Heart Again 2014 - Live At The Rainbow box 2015 - A Night At The Odeon 2015 - Studio Collection vinyl boxset 2015 - Play The Game mobile game 2016 - On Air 2017 - NOTW Box/All Dead All Dead 2018 - Bohemian Rhapsody Movie+OST If i had this list around 2000, i would've been very excited. Am i alone? Let's wait and see, before we poopoo all over it in advance.

Rainbow and the bare bones version of On Air (NOT the box) were pretty great. Everything else on your list sadly gets a great big "meh" from me.

I would add Roger's Fun On Earth + The Lot in 2013, which was very significant all things considered. Not really Queen, but still relevant. They have released lots of stuff when they didn't really have to do anything. The problem is that we know there's so much more they could have gotten out and they haven't, so it's harder to appreciate. And it doesn't help that they released nothing last year ("Never Boring" was filler-tier content, despite the good things in it) and that halfway into the utterly shitty 2020 we don't even have the first official details on "The Miracle" boxset that we happily assume is going to happen, but we don't know for sure at all.

2011 was the year I got really really into Queen. Prior to the 40th anniversary I had A Night At The Opera on CD and was using YouTube to watch several videos but that was the year where I got several Queen albums due to them being remastered. And I watched the Days Of Our Lives documentary and that taught me several new non-single songs but also a history of a group. So I learnt a lot that year so to me that was the most exciting Queen year in the last ten years in my opinion. But I suppose it's more personal than general.

I would also add that they've gone back and transferred all the Freddie Videos from the original film footage over the last few years too: I was born to love you, The Great Pretender, Made in heaven, Living on my own and Barcelona are on the never boring bluray and TIME for the new mix of the single. They look amazing.

Totally agree The Fairy King, nice to read a positive post. The same old moaning and re-hashed crap GH and Wembley jokes are best left on Queenzone in my opinion, it just gets a very tiresome. Surely we’re all a bit better than that? We will see some good things in future releases 😀
