OK, fine... one third. Maybe. far too much optimism and pie-in-the-sky dreaming going on, time our expectations were a little more grounded. Back To The Light - remastered 2021 [Loudness Wars Edition] Bonus Material: Ford Escort Mk4 XR3i 1991 [Limited Edition Poster] Haha! 🤣🤣🤣

One thing he should definitely do is replace the comparatively insipid album version of Driven By You, with the Cozy version, which is vastly superior in every way, and would be more consistent with the sound of the album. Keep the original DBY as a bonus track and also add all the extra little instrumental bits from the Ford ads.

Could be an opportunity to release the 1998 Royal Albert Hall show in some format? Surely that would belong with a re-release of ‘Another World’ rather than ‘Back to the Light’? They had already started remastering the Brixton Academy gig so that would be more likely a visual accompaniment for this release? Like others above, I’m hoping for the odd gem such as unreleased tracks or demos, but guess would be just all the b sides we already have. Either way, BTTL is one album that definitely needs a decent remaster to give it some weight and sparkle.

The thread has since been merged with this new one. But let's not split hairs. It would still be good to have the RAH show released at some time.

Just a thought but the live version of TMLWKY on the Resurrection CD Single has one of my favourite ever Brian solos. I believe the whole of that show was recorded so it would be great to have that as a bonus disc for the album. If he did a box set with the album, the b sides and that live show, on 3 or 4 discs, I'd buy it like a shot.

I would love to hear his demos of Headlong and I cant live with you.
It's really time that Brian goes back to his Solo stuff. I'm also looking forward to a proper recording from the Another World Tour.

Just read some of the questions sent to Brian & Roger in the Record Collector Mag that’s just come out
“What I’m doing at the moment is revisiting my first solo album BTTL and it’s making me very excited. It’s something that you can do in lockdown - you can do things remotely. I’m working with my engineers, Justin Shirley-Smith and Kris Fredriksson, by Zoom and phone calls. And gradually working through all the stuff that needs to be done. We’re remastering everything, well, a little bit more than remastering to be honest. And we have a whole new CD of tracks which relate to the album, which never got on there, alternative versions etc. I’m working on a new video for the title track, so it’s all very exciting. I’m hoping for it to be a package which includes a record but there are big problems these days. I don’t think you can get the vinyl made in time because of the pandemic, all the factories are closing.”

OK, now make it happen, Bri! (Not the vinyl if you can't – I'd buy that later when it's available. But that bonus disc...!)

A new video for the title track would be cool; I'd also like to see the original video for Resurrection included. A 2nd CD of alternative versions of tracks from the album I'll also consider most welcome. To be honest, I don't think a version with a record should be made unless you can buy a CDs-only version too.

No mention of the Brixton gig being upscaled to Blu-ray? :-(

No mention of the Brixton gig being upscaled to Blu-ray? :-( No but he did mention that his Albert Hall gig was filmed in 3D - though he doesn't know where the footage is!

"It's a master tape."

This is a man who kept the packets his pickups came in nearly 60 years ago, but can't find a solo career-capping 3D video recording of a gig at the Royal Albert Hall? Jesus! 😂

Jesus! 😂 in fairness he probably can't find it because "the Archivist" was the last to touch it. no f**ker (including "the Archivist") has likely seen it since then. Job Description 1. Make the job last as long as humanly possible - while not actually logging, recording, proving/disproving the existence of specific recordings. 2. Do whatever it takes to mislay/lose/deny the existence of items, in order to feign surprise at subsequent new archive "discoveries" 3. Anything that remains, should be mislabelled - as vaguely as possible - or just placed in the wrong box/container/case etc. 4. Dispose of copies of recordings that do not contain a voice-over watermark "Property of Queen Productions".

What a great band Brian put together for the "Back To The Light "tour. Brian, Cozy Powell ,Neil Murray, Spike ,Jamie . and the two very pretty backing singers ,Cathy Porter and Shelly Preston. They really put on a great show , I think Brian found it quite a strain to do Guitar and lead vocals. I also saw "In Another World" tour Eric Singer replaced Cozy on drums after his tragic accicdent.

I see there's a pretty sizeable box set for "John Lennon / Plastic Ono Band" coming out this week - 6 CDs, 2 BluRays, >11 hours of audio spread out over 159 tracks. It'll be about 80 pounds. Can you imagine Queen doing something like this? I mean, content-wise - this is easily twice what the NOTW boxset contained, and for roughly the same price.

I just emailed QPL about this, here's the reply:
