Save Rohan, they actually didn't seem to like the album much and didn't have much to say about it !

I see there's a pretty sizeable box set for "John Lennon / Plastic Ono Band" coming out this week - 6 CDs, 2 BluRays, >11 hours of audio spread out over 159 tracks. It'll be about 80 pounds. Can you imagine Queen doing something like this? I mean, content-wise - this is easily twice what the NOTW boxset contained, and for roughly the same price.
If they did do it, They'd have the "rarities" on the deluxe editions for the 2011 Remasters and some already released live material, With almost 100 tracks and would make it cost more than this! Anyways, This seems pretty promising and I can't wait to get it!

Real talk tho, I'd be totally in for a Back to the Light and/or Another World reissue, since originals are starting to get hard to find.
And Brian's solo is the only facet of the Queen universe that has yet to be reissued....there are heaps reissues of Queen proper, Freddie's solo had the special editions, Roger's solo had the Lot and the Fun in Space/Strange Frontier US reissues....Brian's hasn't been reissued yet!

Save Rohan, they actually didn't seem to like the album much and didn't have much to say about it ! Music is subjective. Everyone hears music differently. I think it's a solid album. As per any Queen album, a couple on each of his solo albums that I'm not a fan of.

I agree that any value judgement on the so-called "quality" of music is purely subjective. I've never much liked the sound of BTTL. There's something about the production - cannot quite put my finger on it -- which, to my ears, makes it sound too cold and artificial. The most striking example (but unfortunately it's just one example) is the opening section of Last Horizon, as was pointed out in the podcast. More generally, I don't like the way Brian's voice sounds on that album. I think I'm in the minority but I like Another World much, much better.

Brian posted on his Instagram. Looks like he's once again mixed up some dates, '1991 album' I think we're getting his whole catalogue remastered at some point!

Technically, the "Driven By You" single came out in 1991 and that would give him a sort of 30th anniversary excuse to promote these new releases. But who cares about technicalities at this point... There's at least three songs in The Miracle and Innuendo that were meant to be in his solo album only. It would be great to have his own versions, hopefully it'll happen. Other than that, he hasn't done much solo, gotta wonder what exactly he plans to re-release.

Driven By You could easily ended up on Innuendo if Freddie would be for it...

We've known for a while now that Brian has been in the process of remastering and remixing his first solo album, Back To The Light, but yesterday Brian posted on Instagram about a new 'company' that Brian has set up called the Brian May GOLD Series and he explained in the post that will be 'put it all together'. Presumably, this means that we can expect a huge collection of Back To The Light: CDs, Vinyl, hopefully a box set, and maybe even a re-issue of Live At The Brixton Academy? Anyone excited yet?! http://instagram.com/p/CQRs5nRh2Es

"Brian May Gold SERIES" tells me this isn't being marketed as a single box set.

"Brian May Gold SERIES" tells me this isn't being marketed as a single box set. I do hope it's not just a marketing ploy to bump up the price. I really don't want any expensive gimmicks with these - just good sounding CDs with a something we haven't already got as extras.

This might indicate that as he had no record deal, Brian May gold series is effectively an independent record label.
Although it won't have much of a release schedule....

The first thing that came to mind when I saw that logo was the old Nice Price stickers found on discounted/budget rereleases. edit - the sticker can be seen here.

Didn't spot any bonus tracks though...

Same. I just hope he doesn't use any of those fan-art paintings he's been sharing a lot recently. They are well drawn, but fan-art nonetheless.

Looking at the new "sticker", I have to say that even Fun On Earth and its silly childish paintings were much more piece of art than this 90's photoshop-made "quality mark"...

I AM expecting a remastered DVD of Brixton (not upscaled BD sadly - I'll have to make that myself) though. What do you think? £90 and very few sales?
full of photos not facts and shed loads of tat, ie, stickers, postcards, badges, balloonns...
I read "full of badgers" and suprsingly, I didn't find it strange for a few seconds... But who knows, maybe it will really contain some badger-related stuff
