I bought the 1993 North American release of BTTL on CD (Hollywood Records) with a different front cover and a remix of Driven By You as a bonus track. I'm not planning on buying the reissue.

Hmmm, that might be the way to go. I'm still toying with the idea of cancelling the box set and just getting the LP and CD separately for a 1/3 of the price. I'll take a look at the Stereoscopic store too - thanks for the lead. As much as I hate DHL, it'll still be cheaper than Ebay, etc. Heads up that on Amazon.co.uk the box set shows up as £69.99 GBP but when you actually put it in the cart and put the order through, it comes to £58.32+£16.91(shipping)+£8.70(import fees) for a total of £83.93 to Canada with 2-4 day shipping with tracking. If you order through the Queenonline store it's £81.39 with standard delivery (up to 20 days, no tracking) or £95.19 for courier shipping with tracking, so Amazon ends up being a better deal. I do a lot of online shopping, and the only parcel that never made it to my door was an order from the Queenonline Store, so it's a cursed site for me. Also, there's a chance the price can dip on Amazon as it started off at £63 earlier in the day, and you'll get the cheaper price if you pre-order now and the price dips again. All that said, I might end up cancelling if I come to my senses. If you're looking for an easier way of getting a Brian May autograph without paying lots of money on auction sites, try his stereoscopic store, as they've been offering deals with signed bookplates. I think this kind of points the way to what The Miracle box set might have been. It's probably the album where they had the most 'bonus' material floating about, so all the B sides on the CD singles would have been included, and if we were lucky we might have got a DVD with the videos on it. Add £60 for the vinyl and some bits of tat, and you've got a £100+ box set of stuff we've already got.

Well after what he has said today looks like his other re-issues will be the same.

Hope you all find something you like. There are a few little extra touches, as you will see soon. It’s been fun working on the whole collection - making it just that bit more special than it was in 1992. Thanks for the great response today on the launch. Exciting for me to feel the excitement out there.
This is just the beginning. We’re already working on the next issue in this GOLD SERIES. I’m hoping I can polish and reissue ALL my solo work this way as time goes on. My reasoning for NOT putting out a massive boxed set of everything all at once is:
(1) it enables me and my team to take our time and focus completely on each album, one at a time to get the very best out of it.
(2) That makes it an enjoyable process
(3) I feel that from your point of view out there it’s quite hard to assimilate dozens of tracks all at one go. This way, you can enjoy each project in bite-size chunks at a leisurely pace - just like it was 30 years ago.
(4) It makes it more affordable. It doesn’t require a massive outlay of cash all at once.
(5) I’m a born ‘collector’ myself. I love the feeling of building a collection, and that’s what we’ll all be able to do here. We’re giving ‘Instant Grat’ tracks away with every purchase too … so you don’t have to wait for everything.
I hope this is fun for you folks - I do read your feedback - let me know your thoughts. OK ? I’m always willing to listen and learn.

Another World will of course just be all the B sides and maybe the Red Special live album tracks. Too much to hope for something from the Royal Albert Hall show, I guess. 😕

Nope, no video content. AW has no promo clips AFAIK, so maybe the will put them as a bonus on Brixton DVD? Or they really ditch the videos and won't release them? If I am correct, Ressurection video was remastered and placed oy YT... And I hope for extra tracks like What Are We Made Of or FBI on the AW box set...

As you have said... This release is not for "old" fans... You (we) are tired of this material and a big % won´t spend a single penny on these....

I joined IG only a few weeks ago and am amazed to see how many fans are on their knees, worshiping everything he does. I see nothing but hugs, love and kisses in every post. Is IG synonymous to a Teletubbies hugging environment?
I also shared my thoughts on the release, but after scrolling through 50% (?) of all the IG comments, it sounds like I am a loner out there.

Brian has posted on his Instagram asking for feedback and suggestions on content and says he’s ‘still learning
what makes good content…this makes me so mad as the BTTL box content is fixed now, whereas they should have actually formed a considered ‘focus group’ AHEAD of release (which I’ve been suggesting for years) which might have actually led to interesting content. A perfect example of ‘shutting the stable door after the horse has bolted’.

And from a collector's point of view, I would not like it when the next set would look completely different ie from a content and packaging point of view.
I'd rather have unity across all the upcoming sets.
If he only now asks for input and then applies the feedback on ie the AW set, it might turn out to be different when compared to the BTTL set.

Instagram / twitter / Facebook / youtube and so on give a very false impression of public opinion, as the posts get targeted to people who are probably going to like them and share them, creating more traffic to the sites which creating a bubble / echo chamber. The result is cutting off your actual fanbase.
Relatively harmless if you are a musician as it just means you are surrounded by more yes men than usual, problematic if you are a big company owner or politician who uses it to gauge public opinion.

I'm sorry but from the posts above I'm not sure why we're thinking those people's interest are less valid than ours on here...? We're all fans and it's quite easy to see that demand is demand when they sell these things. Just for discussion.

Brian May is asking for feedback on this reissue on his instagram. There are about 300 comments from people saying that it is a real wonder. So it doesn't surprise me that they do this kind of launch. I have already expressed my discontent in the post, without bad words, only expressing what the vast majority of us here think about the latest movements of queen productions. I encourage you to do the same, because if we complain in these forums but they do not have a comment about it, it is not surprising that they continue to re-release greatest hits with a cardboard and on cassette. The problem is that many of the people who think it's a great release possibly weren't born when it was first released, and some may not even have heard the album. They certainly wouldn't have all the CD singles from it, so for them, I expect it's a treasure trove. Precisely. And this is who Brian is targeting the release at:

If you see it as a re-release of something preciously off catalogue, then the CD and the 2CD make sense, and allow Brian to leverage the Spotify revenue stream and all the riches that brings.

A) a reference to outtakes.
B) that's what everyone does these days.
